@wildlifeobserver1

What a great thread OP, thank you!

I carry my weight on my stomach but my boobs are quite small which makes me look a bit square and without much shape! Are there any good clothes shapes/styles to compliment this please? I always struggle with this and all I ever wear are floaty tops/dresses.

Thanks! To give yourself some shape, I'd step away from the floaty styles and go for something with a bit more shape. There are lots of on trend styles you could try. An off the shoulder dress would flatter your figure as the style is great for smaller busts but the bottom half will skim over your tummy area. The same for the shirred dresses and tops that are currently on trend. They will add curves to your bust and show off your smaller top half whilst disguising your tummy. Hope that helps!

@frillseeking. Just wanted to say thank you for your detailed reply about my sharp shoulders. You're awesome

AnnaBegins · 04/07/2021 22:14

@frillseeking thank you so much! I love the green silk scarf and will buy it. I had seen the Roman boleros and considered them, the gold is a great shout, but I also raided my mum's wardrobe and found a fab shrug in similar colours to the etsy scarf (orangey brown and teal) which goes well.

This has been a super fun thread and I really appreciate your work, I've loved seeing what you've found for other posters too and have been doing a fair bit of shopping off the back of this.

Help! I feel like I’m stuck in a rut. Larger chest and hips, smaller waist. 14-16. 5”4

Any advice for an outfit that would look cool / interesting for smart causal look. I want to avoid my normal mumsey look but don’t know where to start 😱

namechange842 · 07/07/2021 07:15

Thank you so much for this OP. Please could you give me some ideas on what I can wear? Big boobs, no waist/wide waist, 5'2. (Budget high street eg New Look, ASOS etc)

Also, how do I pm you??

Redruby2020 · 07/07/2021 12:54

Hi I know you did reply to my post on here, but I still didn't get ideas of what else I can wear day to day, like especially bottom half, I wear blue jeggings at the moment and that is it 🤦‍♀️

How about printed trousers or a jumpsuit? There are endless styles and prints to choose from and they're really easy to wear and look pulled together. Or a nice pair of cropped trousers like this www.yoursclothing.co.uk/khaki-belted-crop-trousers-p

Please can you help me with dresses? I am a size 16-18 5’8” with big boobs and a wobbly belly. Under my boobs I am then straight down - like a scaffold board with 2 footballs stuck on the top and a cushion in the middle. I love dresses but I just can’t find any so I just buy the tent like buffet type dresses which make me look even huger. I am losing weight though, in my defence 😃

sycamorescrumptious · 07/07/2021 21:09

What a lovely helpful thread!!

If I could make a fairy godmother clothing wish it would be for tops - nice smart/casual ones.

I'm a 35 yo 5'7 big boobed size 14, and like tops that definitely aren't flashy but also aren't completely plain.

Trying to move on from the fast fashion shops, but struggling to justify the jump in price to more ethical retailers to myself!

ImbarbaraB · 08/07/2021 09:21

If I’m not too late please could you help me?

I’m stuck in a rut of skinny jeans and t shirt every day

I am a 12 but with extra tummy apron from multiple c sections.

I’d love to wear a swishy skirt this summer as every summer I dread the heat and I dislike shorts

What type of skirt should I be looking for that won’t cling to the extra lumps around my tummy whilst also being suitable for a 5ft 4?

My dress style has a rock/punk vibe and I’m mostly seen wearing black with a touch of white

Redruby2020 · 08/07/2021 15:15

Thankyou so much for replying again and giving further advice. Yes I will definantly look at printed trousers, not fond of play suits. And though I don't mind Yours tops, I can not wear any of their bottoms, sizing is awful on me, and the crotch in a strange place only goes so far then can't pull any further, not a case of changing sizes, doesn't help! Any other suggestions of companies for cas day time wear/bottom like you pointed out, would be greatly appreciated, Thankyou.

So many options on this one. Is there anyone's style you admire or anything you're particularly drawn to?

You definitely need to find some dresses that you feel good in now! We're all guilty of putting things off until we get to a weight we think we'll be happy with but there are lots of styles that can work

I've attached three quite different styles but they all flatter your type of figure. The first style is quite structured but the wrap detail will cover the tummy and the tie waist will give you shape. The second style has a lovely ruched band that will again give shape around the waist area and the third style is a little looser but the tiered design will give you shape to the bottom half and will suit your height

I need a dress for my step daughters wedding, nothing too mother of bride as her mum will be there so I want to. Lend in but wear something by lovely. I'm a size 18 and 6ft tall, I need a cap sleeve minimal with a below knee fit (hate my legs)! DD boobs so not huge but substantial, quite slim neck and have a waist. Would like something I can wear with tan wedges as due to height I can't wear high heels!

Thanks!

itbemay1 · 08/07/2021 22:07

That should read blend in!

Already have the wedges so want to make use of them

Would consider a jumpsuit too

This is lovely of you to offer help Smile

I have a challenge for you! Have you seen the advert for Wickes maybe, where the women has "house-barrassment" about her kitchen on a zoom call so she gets it redone?

Well I love the green-ish dress she wears at the end (when she's showing off her kitchen) I have tried googling all sorts to try and find it to no avail!

Next time the advert comes on I will try and do a screengrab. Thank you!

I've attached two styles that would work for you. The pleated midi style is a winner because it skims over the tummy area but the elasticated waist makes it really flattering. The other style is in a plisse fabric which hides any lumps and bumps.

The style of the season is the button through midi but I find this very unflattering and it can look frumpy so id avoid that one
