Our verdict

Best known and loved - by Mumsnetters at least - for its robot vacuums, Eufy has branched into the market of wearable breast pumps with the S1 Pro Double Wearable Breast Pump. With a premium look and sturdy, well-designed feel that stood up well to regular use in testing, the S1 scored highly for its practical features including its innovative heating feature. Not only did it hold its own when directly compared to the powerful Spectra S1 Pump (currently rated the best breast pump in our popular guide) our tester Holly found its hands-free features made it the more convenient choice much of the time.

The Eufy S1 Pro's built in heating function (HeatFlow™) was a welcome addition for Holly, who said that she found it noticeably improved comfort and made pumping much more relaxing. In day-to-day use, performance was a clear strength. With hospital-grade suction up to 300mmHg, seven suction levels, and separate massage and expression modes, the pump delivered fast, efficient sessions comparable in speed to the more traditional Spectra S1.

Battery life was another high score, with Holly reporting she could get around ten sessions per charge - but because the storage case has a built-in charger, the reality was that it often went far longer than this, a feature she described as, "super convenient!"

Ease of use was the main compromise: assembly and positioning require careful attention and reference to the instructions, which may frustrate parents looking for a completely intuitive, straight-out-of-the-box experience. Once mastered, however, the Eufy S1 Pro offers a powerful, thoughtfully designed wearable pump that combines genuine technological innovation with everyday practicality.

Bottom line: It takes some getting to grips with, but once you do, this stylish new wearable could be a game-changer for comfortable, hands-free pumping

How we tested the Eufy S1 Pro Wearable Breast Pump

Mum-of-one Holly used the Eufy S1 Pro pump several times a week over the testing period to express milk for her four-month-old baby. During this time she took extensive notes on a number of important factors including performance, design, overall convenience and practicality. She directly compared the Eufy to her Spectra S1 breast pump in terms of output, comfort and discretion as well as overall day-to-day convenience.

What's included with the Eufy S1 Pro?

  • 2 x Breast pumps

  • Dust covers

  • Cleaning brush

  • Nipple measurement card

  • Sizing inserts (17, 19, 21 mm)

  • Storage bag

  • Duckbill valve

How easy is the Eufy S1 Pro to use first time?

According to our tester Holly, the Eufy is "quite easy" to set up, but you do need to follow the instructions, something she learned the hard way. "We did try and set it up without reading the instructions first as our sleep-deprived brains want maximum simplicity at this point. However we found that we hadn't put the flange on tightly enough which led to leakage. This stopped once we read the instructions and set it up properly."

While the instructions themselves were "easy to follow once we became familiar with what all the parts were called," Holly said that she would have preferred the pump to be a little more intuitive.

The instructions and diagrams were helpful, but we did have to use them extensively when figuring out how to use the pump, disassemble it, pour the milk out, etc. [As a new mum] I am too tired to read manuals in detail so would have preferred it to be more self-explanatory.

What is the Eufy S1 Pro pump like to use day to day?

"I use the pump a few times a week and I do find it comfortable. The heat functionality is quite relaxing. I did find the highest suction setting a bit sore so I used a lower one. It did take a bit of getting used to as I'm used the Spectra S1 pump which isn't hands-free so feels quite different. I found with the Eufy I had to adjust it a few times initially to get it in the right place to work - the positioning of the nipple seems to be more important with this pump than with the Spectra."

What's the suction strength like?

With three speed settings and seven suction levels, the Eufy S1 Pro offers up to 300 mmHG strength suction, which is pretty impressive for a hands-free battery powered pump. As a comparison, the Lansinoh Wearable Pump offers up to 280 mmHG while the Momcozy M5 goes up to 270 mmHG and the Elvie Stride 2 is 300 mmHG.

"The suction strength is powerful and it’s great how quickly it works," said Holly. "There’s a massage setting that you use before the suction setting. There are 7 different suction strengths."

How comfortable is the pump?

"I did find the strongest suction level a bit uncomfortable," said Holly. "But the fifth strongest setting was fine. I found the heating element relaxing too."

Did you experience any leaking while using the pump?

"Only initially when I didn't have the flange on properly, but since I set it up correctly, none at all."

Are there different sizes of breast shield?

"Yes - the pump comes with a measuring card and different insert sizes."

How heavy is the Eufy S1 Pro breast pump?

"It's not heavy but the hubs are fairly big so it's not easy to fit into every bra."

How noisy is the the Eufy S1 Pro?

At just under 46 dB, the Eufy claims to sit below "average room noise" but above the Elvie Stride 2's 37 dB level. According to Holly, "It's not super loud, but you'd definitely hear it if you were sitting next to someone using it." She added: "that wouldn't bother me and I'd use it anyway, but I can see how this might not make it discreet enough for some."

In terms of discretion, Holly reported that she would be happy to use the pump while out and about as well as at work.

What is the battery life like?

"One charge lasts for about 10 pumping sessions for me but since you can store the pumps in the charging case, the reality is that you can use them for maybe five times that as long as you pop the hubs back in there after use each time and the case is charged. Super convenient!"

How does this pump compare to others?

"This is the only hands-free pump I’ve used but compared to the Spectra pump, as I noted above, it takes a little more getting used to to get the positioning right and to assemble, disassemble and pour. In terms of speed, I’d say they’re similar."

In terms of look, and convenience, Eufy is the clear winner!

How sturdy and durable is the S1 Pro?

"It seems very sturdy," Holly said. "It doesn't feel easily breakable at all. The entire pump feels really hard-wearing and good quality."

How easy is the pump to clean?

"We clean it in our bottle washer and steriliser, and it can go in the dishwasher too."
