You may have heard the dreadfully sad news that diege's husband died suddenly in June. Mental ill health can be such a devastating illness. Bless his heart. Life has been very cruel to them. We send diege and their six children our love and are so sorry for their loss. thanks

We are so glad that diege has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, we hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them all. There will be love crafted into every stitch. Diege's thread is here if you would like to post condolences

Colours for the blanket - lots of bright, sunshiny colours. In terms of themes, he loved the outdoors. Cycling a passion, also anything to do with fish, trees, plants, mountain climbing in Snowdonia, the seaside (Whitby!) and oddly cacti!
Our initials as follows
Mine : DW. His is J
Then the children...JW, SW, LW, (the girls), then the boys oddly the same - JW, SW, LW.

Thanks so much - I'm sure whatever the blanket looks like it will be amazing, and I'm so touched.
Many thanks, d x

Bless her heart, we will make something very beautiful for them as a tribute to her fabulous DH.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts. There is support for buying colours on our website, here. Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook. Previous blankets can be seen on our website If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

Will of course do a square or two - but may I have some wool please? I don't have any of those brands in my stash. Sending love.

WhenDoISleep Mon 25-Jul-16 20:14:07

Have pm'd.

Have the orange wools listed been used before? I have orange in my Woolly Hugs stash bag but have lost the band with the shade code.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant Mon 25-Jul-16 20:15:12

I will make something.
I have pale blue from impatient wino.
And a couple of greens. Can't remember names.
If you need other colours, please send some.

Will you be waiting until after the summer holiday for posting?

Ginxed Mon 25-Jul-16 20:15:21

I can help and I'm sure I have blue/green shades. so very sad, sending hugs to diege.

Ah. Sorry, the bottom of your post hadn't loaded.

For September.
Can do.

Will do some initials at the very least.

KnottyAndPistey Mon 25-Jul-16 20:18:46

These three are the oranges we have used before WhenDoISleep so they will be fine, one is quite a bright tangerine, another is a burnt orange, the other is somewhere in the middle. All gorgeous, thank you xxxx

Such a cruel disease. A cause close to our hearts chez Hath.

One granny in leftover blue already complete (have been "watching" pfb at swimming lesson this evening).

Have discovered a local cache of James C Brett and others which I should be able to access on Friday, at which point I can cast on again.

Meanwhile, all very best wishes to diege, J, S, L, J, S and L.

KnottyAndPistey Mon 25-Jul-16 20:22:45

Thank you Mrs H xxxx

Such sad news. Will search my stash and buy some if I don't have the right colours.

BlueyDragon Mon 25-Jul-16 21:03:35

Poor Diege, how utterly utterly awful.

I have some of the blue and yellow left over from previous blankets so I'll do some. Can you remind me of the PayPal address and I'll donate some money so others can have wool? If you could do it on PM that would be v helpful as otherwise I will forget...

Whatsthatbrightlght Mon 25-Jul-16 21:16:25

I'm in but will need wool. Have pm'd address

PeaceOfWildThings Mon 25-Jul-16 21:24:08

Was so very sorry to read of the sad news. Glad that a WH is being made for diege and family. Much love to all. flowers

Would love to make squares (am thinking cactus and maybe leafy/waves). Please send some Pumpkin or burnt orange, and some cactus green (mine are all dull). Think I'm ok for blues.
