You may have heard the dreadfully sad news that diege's husband died suddenly in June. Mental ill health can be such a devastating illness. Bless his heart. Life has been very cruel to them. We send diege and their six children our love and are so sorry for their loss. Thanks

We are so glad that diege has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, we hope it may give whatever comfort it can to them all. There will be love crafted into every stitch. Diege's thread is here if you would like to post condolences

So we are now asking for help once again Sad Thanks

We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) Sincere thanks. Thanks

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM us with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, we can help you with all of it.

Thank you so much Thanks

Colours for the blanket - lots of bright, sunshiny colours. In terms of themes, he loved the outdoors. Cycling a passion, also anything to do with fish, trees, plants, mountain climbing in Snowdonia, the seaside (Whitby!) and oddly cacti!
Our initials as follows
Mine : DW. His is J
Then the children...JW, SW, LW, (the girls), then the boys oddly the same - JW, SW, LW.

Thanks so much - I'm sure whatever the blanket looks like it will be amazing, and I'm so touched.
Many thanks, d x

Bless her heart, we will make something very beautiful for them as a tribute to her fabulous DH.

Penguin For consistency in wash and wear, the yarns all need to be compatible - we can send you some bits for your appliqués which sound wonderful, thank you, we have one more post office run today, then that will be that until September, have some orange, would that work?

Just wanted to say thank you to my lovely donor Flowers, as my yarn has just arrived.

Such lovely colours Smile

Energumene · 30/07/2016 09:38

Also, since I have two blues, was thinking squares with waves for the seaside theme. Would that be OK?

KnottyAndPistey · 30/07/2016 09:52

Sounds perfect, thank you Thanks

Fingers crossed you send me some named orange samples and cactus green! If not, I'll work something out.
Still mave millions of pesky ends to keep me busy over the summer on my own projects, and have made a start on kinship squares.

KnottyAndPistey · 30/07/2016 11:26

Think we just sent you an orange and a green ball of wool Peace

CraftyPenguin · 30/07/2016 11:43

I'm sorry, I've only just seen your reply! That would work thank you, but if I've missed the post office run, I can just make plain squares instead :)

PeaceOfWildThings · 30/07/2016 13:13

Thank you, Knotty, that's more than I'd hoped for! :-) xx

More sad news Sad I love that Woolly Hugs exist, but so wish they weren't needed.

I'm in. I will PM too. I have some lovely blues in my Woolly Hug stash.

PenelopeClearwater · 02/08/2016 10:07

My orange doesn't have a label. Do you know which it is KnottyAndPistey? It's really nice and I don't usually like orange.

KnottyAndPistey · 02/08/2016 10:49

Thank you lovely Leslie

PC - is it quite bright? Think probably tangerine from Debbie Bliss - which is being discontinued!

If you put a photo up I will know for sure xx

rubycon · 02/08/2016 18:29

my donor yan (2) has arrived from Loveknitting - thank you so much, there will be love in every stitch from us both.

PeaceOfWildThings · 03/08/2016 10:14

Yarn has arrived! Beautiful lichen, a yellow and an orange. (which ones are they, I'll make up pegs for future reference).

The row above shows the oranges I already had, one far right) matches the one I've been sent, not sure what the others are.

PeaceOfWildThings · 03/08/2016 10:15

And here's the photo to go with my post...
