TTC after coming off Cerazette

Hi everyone!

Me and my boyfriend have decided to try for a baby. I’ve been on Cerazette for about 8 years with one break a few years back. I stopped taking the mini pill 16 days ago and still no bleed. Usually if I miss 1 day I’ll bleed the following week. I’ve taken a test which came back negative but wondering if it’s too early?
Can anyone else share their experience with coming off cerazette and their first bleed and/or conception please?! I’m desperate to get pregnant!

Thanks in advance

Hayley x

I got pregnant while on cerazette (on for 6 years) and then had periods for the first 3 months of pregnancy!

It really played havoc with my hormones.
My advice is to just RELAX don't force it , don't keep "trying " let it happen ,

My best friends were trying for 6 years ! They were going to try IVF had appointment booked after their holiday, they went away relaxed went to their appointment and she was already PG! she believes she was too stressed trying all the time .

I wish you the best , just don't stress straight away. Your period could take a while to get going again ... lots of sex can speed it up Wink oh and long hot baths make mine come x

I took my last cerazette 22feb and no bleed yet. Felt like AF is coming for the past week but it hasn’t actually started.

I was on cerazette for 15 years on and off and I came off in November. Didn't have a period until January. Had a fair bit of cramping in the mean time though

Were counting our first cycle/ovulation as Feb and we're on our second cycle now in March. I started temping from my February cycle and my app says it was a normal cycle so my body took around 3 months to settle into a normal cycle.

(Ive has a name change)

Comps, I’ve had symptoms of AF coming but they’re very similar to early pregnancy ones. We’re very close as to when we came off the pill! Do keep me updated on when AF returns! 😂

MesRLM thank you! I’ve read horror stories of it taking a year for some people and I’m just praying that I’m not going to take that long!

I’ve done a million pregnancy tests. This whole not having a period thing is still weird to me

I'm in a similar boat. Came off Cerelle around 3/4 weeks ago after having PG symptoms. Still no af, still have symptoms.

I have faint lines a week ago but nothing two days ago and I'm not wasting them anymore. Hoping that the pill hasn't fecked up my system. Was only on it for 3 months this time (had a break between due to migraines) so here's hoping! 😂 Just need to wait and see.

Ps, I also missed far too many pills in Jan and Feb 🙄 So god knows what's happening. Feel like an experiment! 😂

I was on cerazette for 10 years. When I came off it, I had one bleed then got pregnant the next month. I can't recall exactly how long it took between stopping and the bleed but I don't remember thinking it was unusual so 4-6 weeks after stopping. I had the same experience again for DC2.

I thought I saw lines on a few of the tests but think they must of been evaps or my imagination as all the other tests had nothing. If this is AF I wish it would hurry up. I wouldn’t usually have these pains for so long b4 it starting. Would usually only be the day it started + few days into it

@Comps83 I've not felt af symptoms at all - just feeling really tired and sick all the time. Weirdest thing.

Like the OP, if I missed one pill I'd normally have a withdrawal bleed the next week.

It's scary just how bad the pill can be for our bodies!

Yeah. The mini pill for sure. I had no problems what so ever with the combined. Well apart from the migraines

I’m the same, if I forgot a cerazette I’d normally get a bleed the following week. I’ve been off it 2 and a half weeks and not a THING 😩 I’m really tired all the time at the moment and keep feeling sick and dizzy. Not sure what’s in my head, what’s due to a potential AF and what’s real anymore😫

I always used to freak when I missed a pill! Now looking at this site it seems much more complicated and difficult to conceive!

I'd just like to have a rough idea of dates etc but completely in limbo. I was convinced that 3 of my tests were positive and had colour in the lines.

Thats one where I could see a line. Looks like evap tho. The one I took after showed nothing

I feel dizzy a lot too . Though I am also trying to wean myself off anti depressants and that’s what I’m putting it down to

Report
Rosie2531 · 10/03/2019 12:17

In fairness, the control line on that isn't properly solid so it could well be a positive. Did it have colour in it?

These were two of mine.

I've had bad headaches but could be down to cutting out caffeine - so who knows?!

I just want answers now. I'm so impatient! 😂

Ha me too
I really don’t think I’m pregnant but not knowing if AF will ever come is a ball ache
Not sure if it had colour. I do convince myself that a previous one had a tinge of pink but I threw it out

I was on cerazette on and off for 12/13 years. Came off it 3 months before we started to try to conceive, and it took two months for me to get my first period. I do have PCOS too though. Once we started trying it took us 3 months to get pregnant, first time I had used an ovulation kit.

Hi there

I am in the exact same position ...normally if I was even a few hours late taking a pill I would bleed the next day...came off the pill the 17th Feb and not one bleed since

I have been using ovulation kits as I would have no idea when I might ovulate and got a positive 1st March so approx 2 weeks after I came off the pill..oh and I have been on cerazette for about 4 years was on the regular pill 3 years before that

Hey guys!
Morning update... AF paid a visit last night!
So it’s been 17/18 days since I stopped the pill. Here’s hoping it’s a normal bleed and doesn’t last a day or 2 weeks. Anyone know if you’re meant to have a ‘withdrawal’ bleed and it not be a proper period or am I taking this as a proper period? Slightly confused!

AllRainbows, try not to lose hope! I did but so happy I finally came on this morning. I guess we all take different amounts of time to get it out of our system! I had no symptoms of AF until yesterday. X

Rosie2531 · 11/03/2019 10:36

@xoxhayleyxox At least you know now! I would presume it will be a 'normal' one but just keep track of the days. A withdrawal bleed would only last a day or two.

I feel quite crampy today, so assuming mine will be coming soon too :(

I'd maybe download one of those apps that track af.

It is very light and it’s pink, not red so I’m not 100% convinced but we’ll see!
You never know, it may be implantation cramping!
I’ve downloaded one of the apps (Flo) and its really good.

Could be! I'm starting to learn that this is all just a bit waiting game, lol!

I'm feeling rotten today with the worst headache and backache. We'll see what happens.

That ruddy faint line is back (I know I know. I did promise I’d stop testing for a week)
You can see it right? It’s not just me?
P.s. i know I shouldn’t take the test apart but I have plenty more
Maybe it these cheap tests. But with a line that faint I’m reluctant to waste an expensive one just yet

@Comps83 I can definitely see that but unsure if it has colour in it or not 🤔 the Tesco ones are supposed to be good and not too expensive. I'd nip out and grab some!
