TTC after coming off Cerazette

Hi everyone!

Me and my boyfriend have decided to try for a baby. I’ve been on Cerazette for about 8 years with one break a few years back. I stopped taking the mini pill 16 days ago and still no bleed. Usually if I miss 1 day I’ll bleed the following week. I’ve taken a test which came back negative but wondering if it’s too early?
Can anyone else share their experience with coming off cerazette and their first bleed and/or conception please?! I’m desperate to get pregnant!

DaniX91, some people use ovulation tests straight away. If you are lucky and your cycle starts right away you should be able to use them to track ovulation straight away. But if you're waiting a while that will be a lot of sticks to pee on!
I'm not planning on using ovulation sticks at all, just an app to help track my cycle and lots of DTD!

@Skyla01 Yeah I get what you're saying! I'm a little confused cos like I said earlier, I tested with a clearblue this morning and got a negative result but tonight I've noticed what seems a lot like EWCM.
Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm 27 and my partner is 38 which stresses me a little but I'm aware it's more the woman's age that matters.x

@DaniX91 it certainly is frustrating not knowing. I've done the ovulation tests but gave up as there wasn't ever a hint of positive and I got tired of it. I think I've noticed Escm once, it was around 8/9 days before my only period so should I ever get it again I'll test. 😂

I've taken a pregnancy test a few times and they're always negative. The last one was on Friday. I'm 33... wishes I'd have cons off the pill ages ago but hey-ho. Feel so much better off it!

@Skyla01 haha makes sense! Bet none of us ever thought we'd want a period so bad! I'm annoyed cos I've wasted a test and my best wee of the day this morning ha. It said there was an error during testing! Does anyone know if I can test again today, just the instructions say to use the first wee after your longest sleep? Thanks 😊 x

Morning all!

Well my temp charting is moving OV all over the place - it's moved from CD14 to CD16 however based on OPKs I actually think it was CD15, so confusing! Anyway that means I am somewhere between 3-5 dpo ha! Personally I think it's 4dpo so I am going with that. Going to see if I can hold off testing until next Monday when I should be 10-11 dpo.

Oh and I also feel completely different this month, last cycle by a few days past ovulation I already had my aching boobs etc.

Can anyone tell me any other good ovulation tests to try please?
I'm thinking I'll get some cheaper ones rather then bankrupting myself buying clearblues all the time 🙈 x

Re OPK, I use the One Step off Amazon, they've been fine and accurate as I've been using them alongside ClearBlue.

DaniX91, I think you can have ewcm for a few days before ovulation so maybe if you test again in a day or two you'll get a positive?
I wouldn't worry about age- at 27 you're a spring chicken!

@Skyla01 yea I'll test again in the morning, was so annoyed this morning when it said there had been an error on the test!
My age doesn't worry me much but my partner's does slightly.
Do any of you girls find yourselves feeling like conceiving is all you can think about sometimes? 🙈 x

Your partner's age doesn't make a jot of difference @DaniX91 so I wouldn't worry about that! I am an old bird, almost 40 eek.

@tisonlymeagain thanks for the reassurance 😊. You're not an old bird! Do you already have children? I read this whole thread yesterday but I'm struggling to keep up 🙈. It's just nice having people to talk to who are in the same boat. I'm sure my partner is sick of me talking about it already 😂 x

Ha you're too kind @DaniX91 - yes I have two children, both almost teenagers. This would be th first (and only!) child with DP. He also has children. We're only giving it up until Christmas and then accepting it for what it is if it's not happened by then!

The reason I come on here so much is to get it out of my system. DP would think I was mental!

@DaniX91 Hey! It took me 56 days to have af after stopping Cerelle! 🤦‍♀️

Thankfully my cycles have went back to normal though. Ovulated on day 13 last month and had a perfect 28 day cycle. Now on CD8 , so the fun begins again haha!

I'm 26, so similar to yourself. My fiancé is 29. My sisters both conceived at 27 after a few months of trying, so age isn't anything to worry about. You'll find that the majority of people ttc their first are over 30 nowadays.

@tisonlymeagain aww it would be lovely for you to have a baby together then! I think men must think we're all mental 😂.

@Roo3125 lovely to hear from you. It's so hard to not obsess though isn't it?! That's a long time to be waitin for AF, you stop the pill thinking it will happen like a week later don't you! Did you have cramps or anything while you were waiting? I've got cramp today and have never been so excited about it!

@DaniX91 having said that I've just had my first positive on the OPK. First ever. Had awful IBS the last few days, or so I thought. But nothing at all to suggest anything else, no unusual discharge, or cramps, or sore boobs, nothing just had it in my mind to test. I'm totally thrilled just for this. But we are out for the next few days so nothing will happen, but I'm just pleased I've got this 😂

@tisonlymeagain I'm going to try and wait for af to arrive (or not) this time. We'll see how that goes though! 🙄

@DaniX91 I had cramps coming and going for weeks. I was also only on the pill for 3 months before stopping. It was very odd. This is my 2nd proper cycle of trying now.

Ha that's what I thought @Roo3125 but I'm kidding myself. I'll be peeing on sticks before this week is out.

5dpo today and no symptoms of anything compared to this time last month. Had a slight aching low down yesterday but that passed quite quickly. Temps have dipped below coverline, not sure what that really means but I know they need to go back up!

And I just ordered some more FRER as I only have one in my drawer. DOH.

@tisonlymeagain it must be hard to stop yourself testing once you know you've ovulated and have been DTD though. I have no idea how early is too early to do a pregnancy test tbh!

@Roo3125 oh I didn't realise you'd only been taking the pill for 3 months. I was on it for about 11 year! The cramp is stronger today and really low down. I've also got a heavy feeling. 🤞🏼 AF is on the way!

I don't think it's worth testing before 10dpo @DaniX91 and even then some people don't get a BFP until after AF is due! I think I will hold out until Sunday.
