It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

I did the core today, too DontWorry. It's quite challenging. It will get easier. If you position your hands and feet quite wide in downdog, it's not so hard, also having your legs slightly bent can help and you can always go on hands and knees if it gets too much. As well as physically helping your foot forward with your hand from downdog to lunge. It took me a couple of years to do that without help, still need to help my left foot on some days Grin.

quirkychick · 12/04/2019 09:25

I did the Five Parks hips and hamstring stretch, which I've done before, as someone with tight hips and hamstrings it feels good after. I need to redo the Adriene Psoas one too, I think for the same reasons. I'm trying to mix up fast flows with slower stretchy practices and do some core twice a week, plus walking and some weights.

AugustRose · 12/04/2019 11:07

I did Adriene's power workout today (the outside one with jumping jacks) as I had more time. I'm going to see my oldest DS (yeay!!) tomorrow so there won't be any time for yoga as it's a long journey.

Iambuffy · 12/04/2019 11:11

Have a good trip x

I was at the gym today but I'm going to a class tomorrow!

adeo1929 · 12/04/2019 12:12

I've only just found this - would you recommend doing the Dedicate, or start from the current monthly calendar?

AugustRose · 12/04/2019 15:45

Welcome adeo you can start with any of them but the ones like Dedicate/30 days of yoga/True etc are made to be followed daily and numbered Day 1, Day 2 and so on, while the other monthly calendars are made up from the many videos Adriene has done, does that make sense?

adeo1929 · 12/04/2019 16:24

Yes that does AugustRose thank you 😊 can't wait to start

DontWorryYoureJustAsSaneAsIAm · 12/04/2019 17:22

Thanks for the tip quirkygirl! Wider feet definitely helped Smile

Can’t quite hop forward the way she does, but I’m pleased with my efforts on Day 7. Still feeling Day 6 though!

Glad I took the plunge and started this, it’s the longest I’ve ever stuck at any exercise Blush I’m planning to get more walking in to & maybe add some other videos at home when I can!

DontWorryYoureJustAsSaneAsIAm · 12/04/2019 17:23

Sorry, I mean quirkychick! Blush (can’t figure out to use the bold on my phone)

noodlezoodle · 12/04/2019 20:08

I'm so excited, my ankle is still a bit buggered up but I've been cleared to exercise again, provided there's no leaping about and it doesn't hurt when I do things (so probably still no sitting cross-legged for a while).

I might start back with Gentle Yummy Yoga but does does anyone have any other recommendations for one they've done recently and absolutely loved?

Iambuffy · 12/04/2019 20:39

I liked rainbow yoga

GreenHatHacker · 12/04/2019 20:50

Yay noodle! Glad you're getting back to things again.

Ocean flow for me today, a bit behind the curve, but plugging on! A nice change with the outdoor setting and one to remember for a lively flow session.

GreenHatHacker · 13/04/2019 12:47

A spare Saturday morning, so I tried the hour long weight loss Balance practice (Act day 6). Was nicely challenging, though well before the end my choice of 'take your own vinyasa flow' was 'hoik desperately to down dog & rest til the video catches up'. Felt very mellow after the end stretches :)

Iambuffy · 13/04/2019 12:54

I did a yoga class to day.
Tbh it was more like pilates.
45 mins and ok.

noodlezoodle · 13/04/2019 22:59

Ooh I forgot about rainbow yoga! I loved that too, might go for that tomorrow.

quirkychick · 14/04/2019 15:37

Yesterday, I did Shiva Rea's water flow, which feels like not too hard work as it's lots of fluid movement but actually is one of those all around the mat ones. Today, I did a 35mins Five Parks core one - I must be mad! I did most of it, it had a fair few hip dips Shock but Erin does them on your elbows, which I can manage, quite a few knee to nose in plank and then knee to floor and to wrist (apparently good for helping you put your foot forward in lunge or just for making you shake loads).

AugustRose · 14/04/2019 16:46

Hi noodle glad to see you back

I did my kickboxing this morning and managed just a little bit more before having to stop for a breather. I might look at that Five Parks core one tomorrow, or not!

GreenHatHacker · 15/04/2019 21:14

Inspired by quirkychick I was planning to do the Five Parks Core tonight, but unexpected garlic in dinner made me blow up to look like my fitball, an almost perfect sphere for a stomach! Curls/crunches not seeming like a good idea, I did the Five Parks for Shoulders, Neck & Chest instead - some very nice stretching in that. Maybe Core tomorrow instead!

Iambuffy · 16/04/2019 08:47

I'm going to do a hip opener today. Think I tweaked something at the gym yesterday!

quirkychick · 16/04/2019 09:49

lambbuffy I've just done the psoas one as I walked a lot yesterday and really needed a stretch today.

quirkychick · 16/04/2019 09:51

Posted too soon Sad for GreenHat I hope you feel better soon. I like the Five Parks Neck and Shoulder one very much, Erin says she has tight shoulders herself (though she is super flexible compared with me) and really knows how to stretch them out.

AugustRose · 16/04/2019 10:11

I like that Five Park shoulder and neck one too, I used the strap of my yoga mat to help.

Yesterday and I did the Respect and Replenish and this morning was the Morning Fresh - feeling a little more fresh but not completely awake yet Grin

Iambuffy · 16/04/2019 14:15

I love the psoas one but I did heart and hip today.
It was a nice one.

quirkychick · 16/04/2019 14:21

Heart and hip is nice too. I'm trying to mix up stretchy sessions to improve my flexibility. They're also a nice change when you need something restorative are knackered.

quirkychick · 16/04/2019 14:22

Strike out fail are knackered
