It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

August That sounds nasty in your shoulders Sad

I always use a block for pigeon as well, I have tight hips so I wouldn't dare not. I approach that one with caution at all times!

Back to yoga today, I only did Adriene's yoga for when you are sick video, but managed the downward facing dog so was quite pleased. Still feeling a bit weak and tired but definitely on the mend, I even managed to drink a very weak decaf coffee with lactose free milk... rock on. Blush

Nice to be practicing again though, even in the gentlest way.

noodlezoodle · 20/03/2019 19:38

Hello all and welcome Cote.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Spudlet. I do love that yoga for when you're sick (and the intro to yin) - previously when I felt under the weather I just used to skip practice but now I follow one of those two videos and I almost always feel better afterwards.

I did Adriene's Rainbow Yoga today - it was short and fun. I couldn't do the windshield wiper legs at the beginning very well, but feel nice and stretched along my sides after all the gate pose business.

GreenHatHacker · 20/03/2019 20:23

Yes rainbow was fun wasn't it noodle!
Did the peaceful warrior video today from earlier in the March timetable. I've been putting it off as I don't like Warrior One - turns out it wasn't even in the routine! Enjoyed the interesting twists and cow legs at the end.

quirkychick · 21/03/2019 08:14

I did the yoga for Abdominal Wall, as I wanted something short but core. I did add a few planks too. I'll have a look at the rainbow one, too.

67chevvyimpala · 21/03/2019 08:22

Abdominal wall? Is that an Adrienne one?

AugustRose · 21/03/2019 11:33

Five Parks twisty for me today, I need the energy and am feeling good for it.

67chevvyimpala · 21/03/2019 14:18

Did the psoas one today and used my new knee pad and I could grab my foot!

quirkychick · 21/03/2019 16:48

chevvy it's an Adriene one, from last year I think. I just put in a search on YouTube for Yoga with Adriene and Core, and it was short Grin.

67chevvyimpala · 21/03/2019 16:49

Oh I'll look for that one, thank you

Spudlet · 21/03/2019 19:17

Rainbow yoga today - that was fun! Think we're more or less better now so felt a bit cheery and rainbowy 🌈

67chevvyimpala · 22/03/2019 10:39

Rainbow yoga today
Quite enjoyed it!
Might come back to that one 🌈

AugustRose · 22/03/2019 11:06

Five Parks 2nd chakra today, another long one, it was OK as you have constant movement but I was a bit wobbly in places. Nice long lie down at the end though Grin

quirkychick · 23/03/2019 08:48

I did the Five Parks twisty one again today, the first bit is not so hard, but then it gets much more challenging. I managed to get my hand to my ankle in triangle, which was good, but half moon is hard for me,my hips are tight, particularly the left one. So, all the balances in this are good for me!

Spudlet · 23/03/2019 16:34

Did a bit of free flow today, had day 30 I'd Dedicate in the background but mainly did my own thing. Was nice to be practicing properly again, although my wrist is twinging a bit, I over-stretched the shoulder of the same arm several weeks ago and little twinges and niggles keep appearing and disappearing up and down that arm now. Most annoying.

Hoping to get to a class tomorrow 🤞

GreenHatHacker · 23/03/2019 18:41

Did Adriene's yoga for the spine this morning. Nice and slow, but energising too. Had to cheat & keep fingers on a block for the balancing on toes bit, tho'!

67chevvyimpala · 24/03/2019 09:39

No yoga yesterday.

I marched instead:)

Spudlet · 24/03/2019 09:47

Wish I could have been there with you. Well done and thank you!🇪🇺

AugustRose · 24/03/2019 11:22

I hope you had a good time 67 it looked amazing.

I did Five Parks twisty yesterday, I can't do half moon either, I can turn the leg but can't balance even with a block so I stay in triangle.

This morning I did Adriene's Deep Core from today's calendar. It isn't too hard EXCEPT there is a move where you are lying on your back, knees bent and you have to rock forward to sitting with hands up - just no, I couldn't do it and got frustrated. My back can't deal with those kinds of moves.

So I followed it with the Rainbow yoga 🌈 which felt good.

Enjoy your Sunday y'all Grin

GreenHatHacker · 24/03/2019 15:13

Waves to 67!
5 hours shuffling from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square. I needed the yoga this morning to get the spasms out of my back!

quirkychick · 24/03/2019 15:37

AugustRose, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can manage half moon with a block, but it's very wobbly on my left leg. When I had hamstring/knee issues I used to practice half moon against a wall to build up strength, but that's not so possible in a fast flow!

Adriene's Rainbow today, quite gentle but gate pose is always a little challenging for me, probably for the same reasons as half moon. Tight hips.

noodlezoodle · 24/03/2019 20:58

I've sprained my ankle Sad. Not sure when I'll be back to yoga'ing although I will try and find some gentle seated practices to do in the next couple of days for when the swelling has gone down a bit. Or maybe the deep core one with some modifications. Am really fed up, have been trying to do some kind of exercise every day and this is definitely going to throw a spanner in the works.

quirkychick · 25/03/2019 07:22

Flowers noodle, I hope you get better soon.

I did some sun salutations this morning, with a few twists added in.

AugustRose · 25/03/2019 10:52

Sorry to hear that noodle it throws you when you have a routine, hopefully you will be able to rest and recover quickly.

Today I did something different from Adriene (I did it a few times last year), it is one of her older Power Yoga videos and it includes a bit of cardio so does get you sweaty. The only thing is, she is doing the moves without talking and they have added her commentary over the top so you might need to look at the video a few times, it's also quicker than her other videos. I will be doing it again.

noodlezoodle · 25/03/2019 18:19

Thanks both, I'm already feeling a bit better and the swelling is going down, so hopefully will be back to it before too long. Maybe not too many half moons or leg balances for a while though!
