It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

whitershadeofpale how did you get on with the Day8 of Dedicate - I'd recommend that for stretching. I loved it, and it's my go to stretch for legs & back when feeling shattered, but I know a lot of people didn't like it for the hips.

GreenHatHacker · 03/03/2019 18:54

I keep checking back to see if anyone's reported on the Core Power Up for March 2nd...anyone tried it? Feeling cowardly and might go straight to yoga for social anxiety tonight - I could certainly do with a routine to fix that for me!

67chevvyimpala · 03/03/2019 19:16

I might do that tomorrow as social anxiety isn't really something I suffer from...

whitershadeofpale · 03/03/2019 19:53

Thanks Green I don’t remember it but I’ll give it a go. I just did a bit of freestyle including some camels and it hurt a lot 😬. I need lots of strengthening legs and core work before I go back in 2 weeks.

DP has hurt his neck so I think I’ll do some neck and shoulder gentle moves before bed.

quirkychick · 04/03/2019 07:29

whiter, I think Adriene has a short lower back one which is gentle. When I had lower back/hamstring issues the physio recommended bridge pose (great with a block under your lower back) similar to camel but less strain as your lying down, supine twists also.

August my shoulder is twingy after the Complete Vinyasa twisty one, it obviously worked hard yesterday, so those practices obviously use those shoulder muscles quite a bit! Today, I went back to Shiva Rea and did her Heart-Air practice, from the one I linked to earlier, as it's very shoulder opening but you still work hard, standing slits, bow poses, etc. I'm feeling pleased that I'm back to doing regular vinyasa flow, now.

quirkychick · 04/03/2019 07:31

you're lying down autocorrect has no sense of grammar!

67chevvyimpala · 04/03/2019 08:48

Is there a "been up since 4 with a poorly child" yoga sequence!? 🙄😩

whitershadeofpale · 04/03/2019 12:37

Thanks everyone. Feeling a bit better today but still stiff, going to try doing Core power wake up (I need a stronger core for skating!) and freedom flow later-I'll moderate if needs be.

quirkychick · 04/03/2019 13:05

67chevvy, no but there needs to be! Poor you, I've been up since 4:30am as I though I heard dd2, and didn't go back to sleep.

whiter, glad you're feeling a bit better.

67chevvyimpala · 04/03/2019 14:43

Ds has a nasty bug...rely high temps and coughing.

Poor thing.

I will try and do some bedtime yoga later.

quirkychick · 04/03/2019 15:58

Sad 67chevvy sounds like what dd2 had. I hope he gets better soon.

67chevvyimpala · 04/03/2019 16:06

It's a bit of everything sadly...high temps, awful cough, sore throat, nausea..
Ugh

Spudlet · 04/03/2019 17:12

Revisited core day from Dedicate today so I fully expect to be hobbling around and pleading with everyone not to make me laugh tomorrow... I think it was a little easier than first time around, but I may be fooling myself there Grin

Managed to practice on both days of the weekend despite being at my parents' place - DM took the pee as they walked in as I was halfway through the healthy energy flow video, but persevered with it! Mind you I only managed the 7 minute bedtime video on Saturday, but that counts I think. I've managed to practice every day since the start of Feb so feeling pleased with that.

Spudlet · 04/03/2019 17:14

67chevvy (is that a Supernatural reference btw?) I had something like that too. It was grim Sad Hope your DS throws it off soon, bless him.

67chevvyimpala · 04/03/2019 18:15

It is indeed spud :)

I will try some bedtime yoga later after dh gets back.

noodlezoodle · 04/03/2019 19:38

67chevvy the 12 minute wind down is lovely and I also like Adriene's intro to Yin. Both very gentle and might be a good option for very tired people!

whitershadeofpale · 04/03/2019 22:53

I agree with noodle I was overly ambitious, did half of the core one and realised I just wasn’t strong enough today so gave in and did intro to yin.

quirkychick · 05/03/2019 06:49

I haven't tried the wind down one, but I know the Intro to Yin, it's lovely and restful. I think that's the great thing about yoga, you can really power up and do something vigorous or something restorative, depending on how you feel and what you need. I'm going to do Shiva Rea's Water flow this morning, medium workout but lots of organic movement.

67chevvyimpala · 05/03/2019 07:39

Didnt manage it.

Trying to comfort ds2 from 8pm.

He feels rotten poor thing

AugustRose · 05/03/2019 09:40

Oh 67 hope your DS feels better soon and everyone else is plodding along OK Grin

I did an Adrien hands free sessions on Sunday, followed by a short core one (can't remember which one and it was only two days ago!) but none yesterday. I'm going to look at the calendar soon and decide what to do today but the weather is a bit miserable so I need to force myself.

quirkychick · 05/03/2019 10:04

67chevvy if it's what dd2 had it's miserable. Dp and I got it too, but weren't so bad. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery.

67chevvyimpala · 05/03/2019 10:24

Yeah he's pretty poorly :(

Ds1 had it last week but not as bad

67chevvyimpala · 05/03/2019 10:50

I liked the hands free one.

I will try and do some later once dh is home.

AugustRose · 05/03/2019 11:26

Well today's calendar suggestion is Yoga for when you are in a bad mood!

It is probably appropriate since I have just had my first negative contact with DD2's secondary school - long story but basically the Year 7 girls do a 'dance night' and she was being pressurised to take part and made to feel she was letting them down [hmmm]. While the boys don't have to do it, it also meant her missing a science revision class for a test on Thursday so again, boys do science while the girls dance - well I was having none of it. Sorted now but I might need to calm down Grin

67chevvyimpala · 05/03/2019 11:32

😮 that's dreadful august

Good for you sorting it out!
