It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Wind down yoga for us last night - DHs second try. He enjoyed this one more than the beginners one, he said. I enjoyed it too!

GreenHatHacker · 25/02/2019 11:35

Well probably a 6 out of 10 for effort for me with the Five Parks vinyasa this morning. Lots of falling around laughing! Good fun, but had to down dog for most of the second repeat of the flow as it was just too fast for me. Think I need to watch the video, write down the moves then practise at my own pace. Enjoyed the new challenges like the wide squat on tiptoe, that worked some muscles!

67chevvyimpala · 25/02/2019 11:38

I am so bad at the balancing poses!

Spudlet · 25/02/2019 15:26

Dancing Warrior for me today, from the original (I think) 30 days. Had the most awful night last, waking myself up coughing until I felt lightheaded from not being able to breathe, so too tired for anything too strenuous, but enjoyed that lottle sequence very much. I did it in the garden! In February! What is going on!

quirkychick · 26/02/2019 07:38

I hope you feel better soon, Spudlet.

I thought I'd try another Five Parks Yoga, so I did the Morning Boost which she described at the end as envigorating and vigorous Grin. Lots of core in this one, as well as planks and chaturanga, side planks, boats and yogi "bicycles". Felt good after, though.

67chevvyimpala · 26/02/2019 09:27

Hands free today....

67chevvyimpala · 26/02/2019 09:53

I enjoyed that one!
I might do that one again tomorrow

AugustRose · 26/02/2019 10:43

No yoga for me for a couple of days so did the twisty Five Parks one again, I love it and am getting into the flow easier. I might try that Morning Boost one spudlet I have looked at a few of her other ones but then read the comments when people say 'challenging but great' and the challenging puts me off Grin And yoga in the garden sound wonderful, except our garden is bordered by fields and the farmer has been much spreading for 2 days Angry they always seem to come when it's sunny.

AugustRose · 26/02/2019 10:44

Muck spreading - although there is much of it!

quirkychick · 26/02/2019 13:52

The Morning Boost one was great, I'm feeling more energetic, it must be spring! I did properly laugh at the bit where you're supposed to grab your back foot in pigeon, so just stayed in the regular pose for that bit.

AugustRose which is the twisty Five Parks one? As I seem to be on a Five Parks roll atm.

Cherrypi · 26/02/2019 14:51

Did yoga for stress relief this morning. It was a bit short so I did a bit of freestyle as well.

AugustRose · 26/02/2019 16:49

It's this one, it flows around the mat so you face the other way and then back again, it's got lots of different positions.

GreenHatHacker · 26/02/2019 20:25

Hands free for me today too - made me feel virtuous as the physio says I'm supposed to do lots of reverse lunges to strengthen my duff knee, but they are very boring done in quantity. However, with Adriene cheering me on, I got through the set!

Starting to feel I'd like to get back into shoulder stand. I see Adriene has a 'Foundations' video on that which I might have a go at on Saturday. Anyone tried it?

67chevvyimpala · 26/02/2019 20:27

Foundations?

What does that include?

GreenHatHacker · 26/02/2019 20:47

67chevvy I've not yet watched any of the foundations set, but they seem to be short introductions concentrating on getting individual poses right, rather than a full workout.

quirkychick · 26/02/2019 21:00

Thanks, AugustRose, I'll bookmark that one for later, when I have time.

The foundations videos take a particular pose and talk you through it. Particularly good for beginners to get alignment right and also helpful with any challenging poses, as there may well be modifications.

quirkychick · 27/02/2019 07:38

I did the Five Parks deep stretch one today, which had lots of modifications. I couldn't twist in fire lock pose, though and just twisted with crossed legs.

Spudlet · 27/02/2019 07:56

The foundations ones break each pose down. V helpful for new poses, and for practicing alignment, as Quirky says.

Went to class last night with my lovely teacher - haven't been able to get in there recently as it's such a popular class so have been going to another, also nice but not as good (IMO) one. Looks like she'll be starting a new slot in a few weeks' time which I can actually attend around childcare, so v pleased! It's been quite a while since I've been to one of her classes and she said she could see I'd been practicing at home - I don't think you always see the progress yourself because it's quite gradual so was nice to get that affirmation.

67chevvyimpala · 27/02/2019 09:35

Hands free again today

eurochick · 27/02/2019 11:23

I love the Five Parks deep stretch session. My hips are so tight some of it is quite painful but I figure it must be doing me good!

quirkychick · 27/02/2019 14:02

eurochick me too, my hips are super tight as well. I know stretching them helps both my lower back and my hamstring. I really enjoyed the neck and shoulder release one as well, it completely sorted the stiff shoulder I woke up with the other day.

67chevvyimpala · 27/02/2019 14:10

I like yoga for psoas fof the same reason!

AugustRose · 27/02/2019 17:00

Five Parks complete vinyasa (twisty one) again for me today. I will try the deep stretch one though as my hips can be tight - was it the 20 minute one?

Spudlet · 27/02/2019 17:19

Hands free yoga for me today, assisted by ds and his collection of tractors, trailers and diggers. Have a 3yo rolling around between your feet really does focus the mimd on balance in lunges Grin

quirkychick · 27/02/2019 18:52

Yes, AugustRose the 20mins one. I like the Adriene's psoas one too. I've been doing a lot of pigeon pose!
