It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Hi everyone. After a rather lazy weekend I did Adriene's 35 mins yoga for perspective just now. Really enjoyed it and felt so happy to be on my mat. I have been on my treadmill the last week or so trying to get to my stop goal but my word it's boring on there 😂
Might try the core again from dedicate tomorrow after seeing some of you have given that another go!
Soooo looking forward to the longer days and a bit of warmth. I always find exercise so much easier in that weather.
Hope you are on the starting to feel a bit better @Gumpendorf

GreenHatHacker · 11/02/2019 20:50

Ooh, ow! The DOMS from yesterday's Core session has hit! A sign I should do core work more often, I fear...

Not a cyclist, so did my own thing for today's session - but I was missing the community feel, so I put the Dedicate Day 30 on again to have some music and inspiration whilst I did so. Looking forward to 'sensitive knees' tomorrow, that's definitely me!

Destiel · 11/02/2019 23:27

I'll be feeling it tomorrow!!

noodlezoodle · 12/02/2019 02:48

I did Yoga for When You're Stuck today and it was a good 15 minute energizer, I really liked it. Will definitely be doing sensitive knees tomorrow - mine complain about everything, so hope this will be one I can return to, the way I do with her 'sore back' videos.

Spudlet · 12/02/2019 10:22

Didn't do anything yesterday in the end, DH was late home from work and I was too shattered and just wanted food. Just waiting to go into class now, no idea what to expect...!

Cherrypi · 12/02/2019 11:03

The new 10 minute neck and shoulders one is lovely. Missed a couple of days to work and definitely feel a bit stiffer.

AugustRose · 12/02/2019 11:33

I've just done the Yoga for Sensitive knees and it was nice, but there was an unexpected abs bit (it is short) and after yesterday's ab workout it hurt!!

I thought it would be more on the floor but there is a bit of standing so if anyone really struggles with their knees I would take a shorter stance in the poses so there isn't so much pressure, Adriene does say this too.

quirkychick · 12/02/2019 13:10

I did some sun salutations this morning, but took it a bit slow with some added twists and lizards.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 15:49

Feeling very grotty today so haven't done any yoga.

quirkychick · 12/02/2019 16:02

Hope you feel better soon, Destriel Flowers. I'm slowly dragging myself into normality after this lurgy.

Spudlet · 12/02/2019 16:12

Hope you feel better soon Destiel. There are some horrible bugs about Flowers

How is the wrist doing, Gumpendorf?

Class was good today, although I did the bend over in front of the mirror test and realised that my old faithful, thought they were fine leggings are..... also see-through! 🙈 Honestly though, I'm almost beyond caring... there wasn't much core work in the class though so will aim to redo Day 6 tomorrow and get that going. My hips feel nicely loose though, like they've been jiggled around in their sockets.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 18:58

I might try a bedtime session later

Destiel · 12/02/2019 20:38

Bedtime session done

Nice stretch

GreenHatHacker · 12/02/2019 20:42

Seems like a night for everyone feeling rough - healing yogic vibes to all.

Exhausting day at work here, so I've postponed the sensitive knees til tomorrow (thanks for the abs warning AugustRose !) and done my favourite 'yoga for when you're knackered' aka Day 8 Meditate from Dedicate. It didn't seem very popular with everyone at the time, but I love it!

DeadBod · 13/02/2019 00:37

Evening yogis. I haven't done any of the February calendar yet as I've been selecting random yoga videos off YouTube. I did the Deep Stretch with Adriene today and loved it. It lasted about 40 minutes and I'm certainly feeling it. I'll definitely do this one again.

noodlezoodle · 13/02/2019 04:12

Destiel I did 'Yoga for when you are sick' when I had a cold and it was really lovely. I'm pretty sure Adriene actually has a cold in the video, she certainly doesn't sound very well! It's very gentle and restorative. I'm also going to try the Intro to Yin when I'm next feeling rough, it looks like it might be good.

I did the sensitive knees practice today and it was pretty good. It's very slow, and I was getting a bit frustrated, but by going at that pace I noticed that my knees really tend to slump inwards during Warrior 2 and I think it will really make a difference if I can fix that during general practice.

Destiel · 13/02/2019 09:42

I did that one last month too. It was nice.

I'm going to do the day 13 today as it's for hips and I need that.

AugustRose · 13/02/2019 10:17

I just did Yoga For Weight Loss - Healthy Energy Flow completely forgetting there are hip dips and more abs in there!! I am feeling it everywhere but I must have a six pack by now surely somewhere beneath the layer of fat Grin

Destiel · 13/02/2019 10:24

Is that an Adrienne one?

AugustRose · 13/02/2019 10:50

Yes, this one, she is a little bit waffly at the beginning but not too long.

Destiel · 13/02/2019 11:01

Thank you!

67chevvyimpala · 13/02/2019 20:15

Mn name change!
was destiel

Spudlet · 13/02/2019 20:44

Did yoga for stress relief today - it's been a very threenager-y sort of day. 'Twas nice.

GreenHatHacker · 13/02/2019 21:22

Back with the calendar today - sensitive knees this morning and 6 minute hips tonight which, along with my Couch to 5k session, means my legs feel very well attended to today!...and will probably let me know about it tomorrow!

Watching some of the older videos, I'm struck by how much Adriene's teaching style has changed over time (for the better I think - clearer and more confident).

Have been wondering about some of the yoga for weight loss videos - are they faster than usual to burn calories?

quirkychick · 14/02/2019 07:32

I did yoga reset for head and heart, which was just the right amount of moving around for me atm. Still struggling with energy, but trying to get slowly back to it. I have been upping my walking and restarted gentle weights this week.

GreenHat you're right how Adriene's style has changed over time. In one of the videos she talks about having training for guiding with her voice. I think in the yoga for when you're sick, she has quite bad hayfever.
