It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Thank you x

I wanted something a bit stronger today so I redid Day 6 of dedicate - core. I forgot how hard it was, I'm feeling it already! BUT that is the one that includes the move where you're on all fours, lift one leg out straight and then lift the other knee to hover - I couldn't do it at all when we were originally on Day 6, and remember thinking "oh this is just impossible", but I managed it today! It wasn't easy but it's so nice to seem some real evidence of progress, I feel very chuffed.

Looking forward to a gentle 50 minutes tomorrow, sounds like just what I need.

itssquidstella · 08/02/2019 23:03

I just did the yoga for bed video someone posted earlier this week and really liked it. I might check out a few more Yoga by Candace videos - does anyone have any recommendations?

GreenHatHacker · 09/02/2019 08:21

Thanks for the reminder of Day 6 noodlezoodle I was wanting to try that again wondering which one it was - one for this evening I think, as I did (most of) the 50 min Saturday session last night, like lots of others it seems!

Spudlet · 09/02/2019 11:07

Just found a Foundations of Yoga video for crow pose, which is one I really want to master this year, so will be trying to fit that in today. Anyone else got any particular poses they want to aim for? Mine are crow, and chaturanga to up-dog. It's going to take me quite a while to build the strength for them but they're what I have in mind!

Destiel · 09/02/2019 12:06

Not lumbering around like a hippo with the staggers would be enough for me :)

Destiel · 09/02/2019 12:07

I think I'll do core today...thanks for the remainder of that one...I really felt it the next day!

quirkychick · 09/02/2019 13:59

I did the Yoga for Insecurity, which was some movement but not too hard. I managed the plans OK, but I usually do side plank with my legs stacked, but not really up for it yet. I often do a longer yoga on a Sunday, so will try the 50mins one tomorrow.

spudlet It took me about 2.5yrs of daily yoga to manage crow (only a few seconds), chatarunga and up dog. I find seated, wide-legged fold really challenging, as well as tight hips and hamstrings, long legs and a short body don't help! Pyramid is tricky too, another hamstring challenge. I agree the Foundations videos are great for helping.

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2019 21:32

I’ve been really busy over the last few days working 14 hr days at home so haven’t done any videos but have broken up work with a few stretches and sun salutations.

Have missed a longer session so did the yoga for self love class today which was nice. I’m going away for a few days so am going to try and squeeze a little session in each morning in the hotel room.

noodlezoodle · 09/02/2019 21:48

GreenHatHacker and Destiel, hope you enjoy Core when you do it - I can confirm I'm really feeling it today!

Spudlet, I'm the same as you - would like to master Crow and proper Chaturanga. I once fell right onto my face doing Crow in class just as the teacher walked past - "Oh", she said, "you seem to have gone beyond your edge there". Grin I must say it has definitely made me more cautious.

Destiel · 10/02/2019 09:16

I didnt manage any yoga yesterday - I seem to struggle on a Saturday for some reason.

I might do core tomorrow and the care day 10 today

AugustRose · 10/02/2019 12:51

Ooh am I tired now, I did this one from Five Parks, it started off fairly easy with even movement as she explained the moves but then started to speed up as we went through the flow! For the first time in a long time I am actually sweaty after doing yoga and it feels great Grin

I followed it with Adriene's 10 min shoulders/back session from today's calendar and it felt so good.

Destiel · 10/02/2019 12:53

So I did day 10 today...lovely neck and shoulder stretches.

I dont cycle so I'm planning on doing core tomorrow.

AugustRose · 10/02/2019 12:58

I was thinking that Destiel I remember the core being tougher than I thought it would.

Spudlet · 10/02/2019 15:37

Well, my new leggings are see-through 🙈 So they have to go back, and I've ordered a further three pairs in the hope that one will give sufficient arse coverage Confused

No yoga here yesterday but hoping to find a reserve of energy to do some later. Maybe one of the shorter sessions.

quirkychick · 10/02/2019 15:51

I did the 50min one today, which starts slow and builds up. I was pleased that I felt stronger today and not so shaky or tired. Building my strength back up slowly.

noodlezoodle · 10/02/2019 19:59

Spudlet, Gap have some blackout leggings designed to keep everything covered - I find them pretty good and there's usually a big discount to make them a reasonable price.

I did the quick neck & shoulders practice today followed by Yoga for Insecurity - was NOT expecting so many planks in the latter, I feel properly worn out now!

Spudlet · 10/02/2019 20:05

Thanks noodle, I'll check them out! I just don't want to frighten horses and people of a nervous disposition, is that so much to ask... 🙈

Did the five parks video that AugustRose posted, and blimey, that was wobbly in places! Skipped the half-moons but enjoyed it, wibbly wobbly transitions notwithstanding. 😂

GreenHatHacker · 10/02/2019 20:51

Did the Core from Dedicate again, and the 10 minute session on neck and shoulders from Care, so feeling very virtuous! Still didn't manage all the optional bits at the end of Core, but certainly a better performance than back in January

I've watched some of the Five Parks video - what a very bendy lady! Feel I should give it a go for real, but a little intimidated...maybe Weds morning, my working from home day

AugustRose · 10/02/2019 21:20

Spudlet I know what you mean, I skipped half-moon too and stayed in triangle. It does get a bit dizzying in places as you speed up and turn to the other end of the mat!

quirkychick · 11/02/2019 07:29

Not sure I'm up for 35 mins Vinyasa Flow, yet, but I will bookmark it as something to aim for. I redid the Yoga for Psoas, as my hips could always do with extra flexibility and I'm upping my step target this week.

Destiel · 11/02/2019 09:42

Done day 6 core again. Ill be feeling it tomorrow!

Managed it all except the one leg raised lifts and half downward dog...I'll work on it:)

AugustRose · 11/02/2019 13:31

I did Day 6 again too and it felt good, but my right hip kept locking so I had to put it down a few times - perhaps I was trying too hard yesterday Grin now I need some food and a rest.

Spudlet · 11/02/2019 14:25

Hmmm, so far today I've been around town with DS on his balance bike and bathed the dog, via a trip to the garage to drop the car off and switch the car seat into a loan car while DS 'helped'. I think I need 'yoga for when you are a broken woman' tonight Grin

Destiel · 11/02/2019 16:21

Looking at the rest of the february care calendar I might do core again on the yoga for climbers day!

But I'll give the rest a go :)
