It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

It's not the nicest sensation!

whitershadeofpale · 04/02/2019 16:43

I missed yesterday as full of cold. I intended to do 7mins bedtime yoga and just totally forgot until I was in bed and I wasn't going to get up again!

I feel a lot better today so will do some tonight as soon as I get in.

Destiel · 04/02/2019 16:59

Hmmm.
I'm unsure on the bedtime yoga...I rarely feel like it at night time so I might just do a repeat?

GreenHatHacker · 04/02/2019 19:12

I did 'yoga for bedtime' when I was feeling stressed a few nights back. Not sure if I found the wrong video, but I got one that was 21 minutes long - was just what I needed though!

I've been reading the 'yoga for Psoas' as that Mumsnet favourite 'POAS' all week!

Destiel · 04/02/2019 19:45

Me too!!!!!

Destiel · 04/02/2019 20:38

The Feb one is 7 mins

Talisin · 04/02/2019 20:47

I came across a (non Adriene) video for yoga in bed for the ultimate in laziness. I’m going to give it a shot tomorrow when I’m back late and completely knackered. It’s if anyone else can’t be bothered to roll out their matWink

Destiel · 04/02/2019 20:54

Yoga in bed!!?

Love it :)

whitershadeofpale · 04/02/2019 21:33

I caught up and did yoga for hands and for when you’re stuck today. Both were nice but I’m hoping for a stronger practice tomorrow. I can’t believe I’m saying it but I missed the down dogs!

Spudlet · 04/02/2019 21:49

I redid one of her previous 30 days series' abs days today. I've glanced at the Feb programme but they all seem very short, I need at least twenty minutes to feel like I've had any kind of time to myself. So aiming to keep up with a mostly daily practice rather than follow a calendar as such.

Tangarine · 04/02/2019 22:33

Hello yogis. I still haven’t finished January and have been dipping into February as well. I’ve done something most days- yoga, Pilates, swim or run so am trying not to be too obsessive about keeping up

coffeecow · 04/02/2019 23:15

I did another five parks today but like yesterday it really highlighted how not flexible I am!!

Tomorrow I'm doing something different and getting on the treadmill with a podcast I've been waiting for. But Wednesday I'm going to get back in with Adriene.

Cant believe I'm saying this but....I miss the waffling Grin

Well done everyone still yoga-ing on!

quirkychick · 05/02/2019 07:07

I just did some sun salutations this morning, as I'm trying to get back to my previous levels of activity. I managed 8 rounds (but I usually do 10 or 12). I did notice that my hips felt much more flexible after yesterday's yoga for psoas, though.

coffeecow I do yoga precisely because I'm not flexible Smile. It allows me to be less inflexible than I would normally be, but I know what you mean, you see the teacher demonstrate something and think, I so can't do that.

AugustRose · 05/02/2019 09:47

I finally managed to get back on the mat today and did Day 29 and I really enjoyed it. I had planned to continue to Day 30 but I was more tired than thought I would be by the time I'd finished.

It's good to see you so many of you continuing and I will keep going when I have finished, a mix of Adriene, Five Parks and other things.

Destiel · 05/02/2019 10:19

I don't know what psoas is tbh but im now well stretched!

Destiel · 05/02/2019 10:47

I might do it again tomorrow...

quirkychick · 05/02/2019 14:23

I think the psoas is to do with the hip flexors.

Destiel · 05/02/2019 14:43

Ah. I def need to do that one again then

DeadBod · 05/02/2019 15:22

I've just completed Five Parks Complete Vinyasa Flow. A really good workout which has given me a glow and exactly the type of yoga video I've been looking for.
She doesn't hang around so I'll be doing this one again as I was unsure of a few poses and was a bit wobbly in places.

quirkychick · 05/02/2019 17:19

There's a nice hip and hamstring one too, destriel.

Destiel · 05/02/2019 17:39

Are there any for Achilles tendon issues??

GreenHatHacker · 05/02/2019 19:45

I was a little disappointed with the Psoas routine tonight. I'd been looking forward to a nice hip stretch but quite a lot of the routine 'wasn't available to me' (as Adriene says) owing to being rather hard on my dodgy knee. So I ended with some hip stretching over a foam roller - which in itself is a win for the yoga as I wouldn't have been inspired to do that otherwise!

Planning to do a repeat of Day 29 tomorrow morning as I seem to remember that was quite fun.

Destiel · 05/02/2019 21:20

Yeah...I couldn't grab my foot die to knee pain.
I just reached back instead

noodlezoodle · 06/02/2019 05:37

I did psoas today as well (and also couldn't grab my foot) - thought it was OK but not that satisfying compared to Dedicate. I seem to want a slightly longer or more energetic practice at the moment so I might redo some of the dedicate days instead as others are doing. I bookmarked 8 different days from Dedicate as we were doing it but I can't remember what's in them so it might be a bit of a lucky dip!

quirkychick · 06/02/2019 07:12

On the psoas session,I really like Adriene's modification of resting your back leg against something, if you can't reach it (my hamstring would cry out in pain, if I did!). Not sure why she doesn't suggest it in this video, but she does in another.

One of my favourite yoga dvds is Shiva Rea's Daily Energy, which has some extras, but is mostly 20 min sessions, quite fast but with differing levels. I've found it on YouTube
m.youtube.com/watch?v=smaT0LuHYpc if anyone's interested. This has the whole thing, so you might have to pick and choose.
