I'm waiting for the Chernobs thread to start - it's my favourite one Grin. I am sure we're all horrendously busy - I'm trying to finish off DS's blanket he ordered for Christmas. But it's mostly Lobelia and I can't see at night for the joining and he's been off school sick this week. Aaaatrrggghhh. However because of that, I have almost finished joining a Kinship hug - ran out of plum for the edging so have to go to wool shop tomorrow.

Have also started my Chernobs blanket but think I've mucked up the colours so may have to do some frogging.

What are you all up to?

hello!
how is everyone?
I am plodding on with squares - am on #11 out of 20 , but just had a kit delivered to construct too. Luckily, the weather is horrid atm :)
Spin - I think that was Chipping, sorting out our woollly retreat last year . It still holds a big appeal - I would , in truth, just like somewhere to stash my yarn tidily, instead of being in boxes in the spare bedroom as it is , along with loads of fabric too Blush
Madison - we used to go on holidays with friends many years back. When they got a caravan, DH said 'no way' . We used to book B&B's nearby their campsite. The DD's used to be green with jealousy at the other children sleeping in a caravan!

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/03/2019 20:09

Hello all. I have never camped Blush and I'm too old and too achy to start now.

I'm approaching the end of my blanket although I think I'm going to be one row short of nearly every colour so I'm now weighing up wether to buy the balls I need from my local wool shop who charge 80p a ball more than Wool Warehouse or to get them online and pay the delivery charge. I'll make 12" squares from what's leftover

bookbook · 14/03/2019 23:13

Woolly - if you go to Wool Warehouse, there is always a code for 10% if that helps? ( and then of course, I always end up making it up to £25 anyway Blush )

Just putting this here toooooo!!

So Chernobs, Belarus, Billie’s Blankets and Hearty Hearts. How do they all fit together?! Please have a read...

We are delighted to have been invited to go to Osipovichi, Belarus 🇧🇾 with Andy March’s trip (from the Bristol CLL group) in April. We have a very full itinerary, and we will share more details soon, but happily we get to meet last year's Bristol group again, we met them last summer when we took them their blankets ❤️ and also the next group of (Chernobs) children visiting this summer. Fantastic. We aim to blog whilst over there. Who knows, even a vlog if we can work it out 😃💪

During our trip we visit Yasen'Social Centre: Children (3 - 18) between Osipovichi and Babruysk and also the No.1 Baby Home in Minsk where we are delighted to be delivering some Billie’s Blankets. Such a wonderful thing to be able to do from us all.

And the Hearty Hearts? We plan to take them and give them as little Woolly Heart Hugs to families, wonderful staff caring for the children and children themselves. Thank you for all donations so far, it will be a pleasure to give them. If you'd like to make any more, or take part, there is still time. As long as we have them by Easter. All crafting info is under the Winter of Woolly Love, link on our home page, thank you so much xxx

RIP lovely lady ❤️

KnottyAndPistey · 10/04/2019 16:43

Absolutely devastating. Because she was so open and honest we knew she didn’t have long. It’s still a shock. She was extraordinary. Knots and I both learnt so much from her. We were all lucky to know her

Okki · 28/06/2019 21:55

Hello. I'm not sure if anyone follows TQ's thread but she's really not well. She's in hospital with pneumonia and she's mentioned hospice. @KnottyAndPistey @bookbook @Spindelina

Well, hello Autumn!
It has certainly been an eventful summer - not all good sadly was it , with the loss of TQ , Leslie and FiveGoMads husband

Have tried to keep busy - and am just eyeing up a yarn order ready for this years Chernobyl project .
Made a small Christmas Cwtch , am trying to power along to get a Snugs for Christmas finished in time too , and am busy making things for the craft sale .
How is everyone?

KnottyAndPistey · 14/09/2019 16:50

Just gearing up to start woolly wool again. Going to TQs special service on Thursday and taking beautiful woolly flowers with me. Flowers Too many folk being taken too soon. Sad

Have made a Christmas cwtch too. On my long haul flights this summer. It’s only a mix of grannies because that was all the concentration I had. But it is definitely festive looking. It’s a three by four 12 inch sqs size. Just needs a border

SanJuniperos Blanket is finished bar the photos. It’s an absolute beauty. Such treasure for her and their son. New blankets to come. Will try to speak to TQs girls and see what they say.

So Snugs ahoy! Waiting on confirmation of numbers from the CFT.

Busy days ahead GinBrew

MadisonAvenue · 16/09/2019 16:55

Hello all, it's been a sad time hasn't it.

I've been working on squares for the Summer project and I've decided on colours for my Chernobyl blanket so I have the yarn but need to decide on a design.
I've also been working on my temperature blanket. I've made it far too big, I think it's going to be double bed sized.

And as of this week we have a lovesick 19 year old mooching around. His lovely girlfriend has left for her first year at university and she's not within reasonable driving distance at just about 300 miles away so he's very much at a loose end. He didn't take me up on my offer to teach him to crochet though.

bookbook · 20/09/2019 16:20

oh dear Madison - a lovesick boy , you poor thing .
I have sent off my first parcel , and only about 6 rows left to do on the Snugs . Not got a great deal done , as not been too well the last week .
Just wishing I had been able to get down to the Hugathon this weekend- I really enjoyed it last year - it is looking glorious today .Are you going ?

MadisonAvenue · 29/09/2019 20:55

I hope you're feeling better now book

I didn't get along to the Hugathon, I thought about it a few days before when it was said that there were still a few tickets available but we've had so much going on lately and I decided that if I had a Saturday with absolutely no plans then I needed to take advantage of that!

MadisonAvenue · 29/09/2019 20:56

Or a Sunday even!

KnottyAndPistey · 02/10/2019 10:18

So say we had a Hugathon in Leeds?
