You find us busily setting up a new home for our wonderful project. Will be making a special cosy corner for Soupy's poor blind cat - recently blinded by fiesta and her very bright blanket kit Gin

As has been since the first year, this has been an astonishing team effort, folk never fail to amaze. THANK YOU! x

Our first project thread is here.... That was the one where we frantically made SQUARES and some folk made whole blankets, there was a lot of gin and the word characterful was used a lot Grin

On the last thread we reached the dizzying heights of 64/100 absolutely gorgeous finished blankets, so here's hoping this thread sees us through to target...

Ooooo, and this will be the thread where we share the Early Bird 2019 info if anyone has been inspired or just wants to get ahead! Thanks

The photo is from last year, tis the wonderful group who came to Portsmouth.

Cracking on then Grin

wow K&P - only sent it Saturday!
That is just lovely Woollly .
I tend to do shells for lap blankets/Little hugs. Nice and easy repetition !

MrsHathaway · 14/05/2018 14:08

Just spotted 66/100 on Facebook: a FANTASTIC example of using single six-inchers without joining them to make twelve-inchers first. I don't have the eye to design them but I love to see them!

Spindelina · 14/05/2018 14:09

Woolly that is lovely.

MrsHathaway · 14/05/2018 23:53

Does anyone have about ten grams of Plum please? I've run out with nine inches to go.

Option B is to frog the other 17.5 feet of border and do something less dense.

SoupDragon · 15/05/2018 07:16

I have some of what I believe to be plum.

SoupDragon · 15/05/2018 07:24

Happy to stick some in the post to you.

She'll accidentally post fiesta, you know that MrsH

No she won't - because she's lovely and perfect.

Thanks, have PMed. Also have got over myself a bit. Running out of yarn with mere inches to go drives me BANANAS even when I've got a new ball ready to go.

Grin Is anyone else like me - if I think I'm going to run out of yarn before the end, I work more quickly - physchologically silly, but still.... Not that it works of course!
MadisonAvenue · 15/05/2018 10:32
Grin

book Yes! I do that too...

Right, I've just placed a yarn order for the 2019 blanket.
Tomato
Spice
Saffron
Lime
Pistachio

TwitterQueen1 · 15/05/2018 11:39

Woman just ran into the wool shop where I was dithering and grabbed THE VERY LAST BALL OF FIESTA! That was all she wanted...

SoupDragon · 15/05/2018 12:37

Not me.

I have way more Fiesta than I could ever want.

MrsHathaway · 15/05/2018 12:38

I love tomato and spice - tomato in particular seems to be such different colours depending on what it's next to, but it's always warm.

Since I was last online I have heard about another likely* new baby so am planning again. I'm going to look at some of Zing's brilliant palettes online and find something that relates to the seaside (blue/cream/sand) then do stripes so it looks like the beach if you squint. There's a six-inch on one of the big Hugs that I'm using as inspiration, because this mother is a very beachy seasidey type.

  • she hasn't told me but someone else reliable has, and she appears to be wearing maternity clothing today Grin
MrsHathaway · 15/05/2018 12:39

I have way more Fiesta than I could ever want.

As I have I, and I haven't got any.

MrsHathaway · 15/05/2018 12:41

Triple posting, apologies. Pinterest tells me this is Zing's suggestion for Beach - I would not be using the bottom three so I'd want to think about another couple of blues, maybe one a bit greyer and one a bit stronger for the Cornish sky.

MrsHathaway · 15/05/2018 12:46

Sorry, see this brilliant thread.

And now I've found that, I've found this:

Might add something sandier still in place of the red.

Duck egg and storm blue -? but they are maybe more on the green side ( but I do love them together )

bookbook · 15/05/2018 12:48

oh yes , thats good !

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/05/2018 13:01

Ooooh, all lovely suggestions!

MadisonAvenue · 15/05/2018 13:05

Camel is a very sandy colour, as is Stone (although slightly paler than Camel).

PurpleFrog · 15/05/2018 13:06

I must have around 90% of the Stylecraft Special DK colours by now, and I can safely say that I do not own any Fiesta! Grin

SoupDragon · 15/05/2018 15:45

I have way more Fiesta than I could ever want.

As I have I, and I haven't got any.

Are you sure...? 😇

MadisonAvenue · 15/05/2018 16:44

MrsH If Soupy is sending you a parcel I'd suggest sunglasses on before opening it...or those special glasses for viewing an eclipse maybe.
