You find us busily setting up a new home for our wonderful project. Will be making a special cosy corner for Soupy's poor blind cat - recently blinded by fiesta and her very bright blanket kit Gin

As has been since the first year, this has been an astonishing team effort, folk never fail to amaze. THANK YOU! x

Our first project thread is here.... That was the one where we frantically made SQUARES and some folk made whole blankets, there was a lot of gin and the word characterful was used a lot Grin

On the last thread we reached the dizzying heights of 64/100 absolutely gorgeous finished blankets, so here's hoping this thread sees us through to target...

Ooooo, and this will be the thread where we share the Early Bird 2019 info if anyone has been inspired or just wants to get ahead! Thanks

The photo is from last year, tis the wonderful group who came to Portsmouth.

Cracking on then Grin

I'm still looking for my hooks - they're in a box I haven't yet unpacked. I need a couple of days off to finish the job off, instead I get a load of stuff to do on the weekends 😢

Jux · 09/07/2018 17:01

Isn't it a good reason to get a new set of hooks? You know, that set you've been lusting after for sooooooo long Grin? And then you need to try them with all these different types of wool, don't you? Oh dear, you only seem to have SSDK, and you must try some of this truly lovely stuff.......www.pascuali.de/en/vicuna-100-vikunjawolle-ein-exklusives-hochwertiges-strickgarn/a-60816/

WitchDancer · 09/07/2018 18:06

I've got my wool, it's just my hooks. All if my hooks. Even the really naff ones, but more importantly my really lush soft handled ones. And my knitting needles. 😭

bookbook · 10/07/2018 20:47

Madison - well done to your DS on his degree ! - have you room for all the extra stuff he has brought home ? Grin . ( We ended up buying a shed for all the extra books DD1 brought home ) Hope all is returning to calm for you .
Jux - you are naughty!
Hope you find your hooks soon Witch

Jux · 10/07/2018 22:30

Did no one notice the price of that wool I linked to Shock. You really need to check it......

bookbook · 10/07/2018 22:47

I did ! - thats why you are naughty Grin

diamantegal · 10/07/2018 23:47

Oh my word! Is it pure gold or something? May stick to Stylecraft for now and not just because I have enough to last a lifetime

WitchDancer · 11/07/2018 07:46

Morning all. I'm still looking 😭 however work and scouts and other life stuff is getting in the way somewhat! DH has offered to look tonight so I guess I'm exhibiting withdrawal symptoms 😂

How much is that wool in £'s? I'm guessing it was gold plated or something? 😁

SoupDragon · 11/07/2018 10:54

Just sliding in to say that Poor Blind Cat died of a non yarn related heart attack at the weekend. His colour criticisms will be sorely missed :(

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/07/2018 10:57

Oh Soupy. My condolences ThanksThanks

MadisonAvenue · 11/07/2018 11:47

Witch £237.86 but that's just for 25g!

Soupy I'm so sorry Flowers

Book thanks! All unpacked now, a lot has gone to the charity shop! He didn't actually bring many, if any, books back home. He's mostly been using the libraries at the university and in the Library of Birmingham. Any books bought were shared with his girlfriend and their flatmate as they were all doing the same course. Thankfully we didn't need to purchase a shed Grin

Jux good luck to your daughter! The wait for A levels is a horrible one!

Okki · 11/07/2018 11:48

Oh Soupy I am sorry. Thanks

SoupDragon · 11/07/2018 13:00

Thanks all. He was 10 and happy and healthy (bar his burnt retinas) so on the whole a good way to go if that makes sense!

bookbook · 11/07/2018 15:12

sorry to hear that Soupy , but yes , a nice way to go .

WitchDancer · 11/07/2018 16:58

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat Soupy, run free on rainbow bridge little one 💕

WitchDancer · 11/07/2018 17:00

Over £200 for 25g???? 😱 That's shocking! I'll have to tell DH, which should ensure he is through in his search 😂

MadisonAvenue · 11/07/2018 19:24

You couldn't even make very much with that amount could you!

Hope he finds them tonight!

diamantegal · 12/07/2018 00:21

Oh Soupy I'm so sorry. It doesn't matter how old they are, it's never old enough. We lost two cats in the last year or so, and although we've replaced them with kittens for DS, I still call the kittens by the names of the old cats. They were special, and I sure "Blinded-by-Fiesta" cat was too. Hope the house isn't feeling too empty...

KnottyAndPistey · 12/07/2018 10:01

Oh Soupy no!

Huge love to you and the DC, that is such sad news, bless him, our cosy corner will forever be dedicated to the poor fella who was blinded by fiesta, you tales of him made us laugh. He will live in our memories for sure. Sad

Hugs darling, that is very sad xxxxx

Thank you.

We got him at 3 months when he was the last kitten left in the litter having been rejected by a family because he was “too dark”. Their loss was our gain because he was awesome and has left a generously proportioned cat shaped hole in our home.

SpiralArchitect · 12/07/2018 11:19

Just catching up, been so busy with RL non-yarny stuff...

Soupy So sorry to hear about your lovely cat. The SpiralCats send their condolences too Flowers

WitchDancer · 12/07/2018 16:04

He found my hooks 😁 He may have been inspired by my threat to order a new set plus more wool....

I'm happily hooking a virus blanket, which I have been yearning to do ever since my hooks went walkabout.

KnottyAndPistey · 12/07/2018 18:20

So our penultimate Chernobyl 2018 delivery is ready to go to the 8 girls and 8 boys visiting Bristol, tis stunning!!

We have the added joy of being able to deliver these in person at the weekend, happy sigh... 😍

The most enormous thanks to everyone, this is extraordinary, add in too the Hugs for Heads, all the extras and ice cream money too, and it is all absolutely AMAZING!!
