Following on from our previous support thread please check in here if there's any help, particularly (but not exclusively) knitting help, you need for the squares for 3girlies, who sadly lost her beloved 6-year-old dd Flora recently.

The details of the blanket project are here and it directs you to the Crafting Guide on Woolly Hugs, with specific sections for crocheters and knitters. I am still maintaining the original document mostly because I haven't got around to separating out the stuff that's already on Woolly Hugs now from the newer suggestions we've had in the last few weeks. So please, by all means do send me suggestions for new patterns or ideas.

For those of you on Ravelry and participating in the Ravellenic games, I think squares could be entered under a number of categories such as balance beads, doubleknit boxing, lace longjump among possibly some others.

I'd do double treble corners then double treble, half double treble (yo twice, through, yo, back, yo through two, yo through rest), treble, half treble, four dc, two sl st, 4dc, htr, tr, hdtr, dtr, corner.

:)

Thank you :) will try tomorrow and report back

Thanks

Have finally managed to suss how to do a "twist left" or a "twist right" without having to resort to using a cable needle for the single stitch. :):)

In doing so, I have now practiced the third and last pattern for the Afghan rug project that I am going to embark upon, in memory of my mum :). The three patterns can be seen here

I ran out of wool just before the end, so the last 2 rows (and three stitches) are in a slightly different blue. Hopefully, by the time it's been hooked together, it won't be too obvious Blush

The squares are now finally in the post (first class) so should be winging their way to Pistey.

Luffly, prettybird Thanks

GlaikitFizzog · 14/08/2012 18:53

Ok Trib, thanks. I feel slightly better now. But I think I'll frog it and to that bubble pattern you linked to instead.

tribpot · 14/08/2012 19:09

I would, Glaikit. I can't see how that pattern can result in a picture like the one shown in the book. Maybe if you only go back and forth twice instead of three times ... but in any case, i think Frankie Brown's pattern will work better as it doesn't seem to involve the creation of any holes!

Tribpot I've emailed you

lentilweavinghippy · 14/08/2012 20:26

Glaikit, I think I've got that book (knitting & crochet bible?) Not tried that pattern (& don't think I will now!) but I'm doing one of the diamondy ones - some lovely cable patterns in there too.

GlaikitFizzog · 14/08/2012 21:18

It's the stitch library lentil, but I think they are one and the same.

tribpot · 14/08/2012 21:21

Yip, the Claire Compton one. I have the Stitch Library too. I've checked her website to see if there's an erratum for this pattern but there's nothing there, so I do wonder how on earth it's meant to come out like the picture!

PurplePidjin · 15/08/2012 07:17

Two decades of experience, Jules Wink when you've been doing something that long it gets easy - think talking, walking, cooking, swimming...

You do know we Need pics, don't you?!

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/08/2012 15:18

Done my squares, yay me! Now the other day I am sure I found something where you can make little hearts.......but I can't find it now! Is there a link somewhere someone can point me in the right direction?

They are just little things to sew on afterwards

Ooo they do look good! Thanks! I should have thought of her! I will one day do a ripple blanket!

Will have a go at them either tonight or another day, need to meet my daughter at the dentist this afternoon!

tribpot · 15/08/2012 15:33

I did the knitted heart off this valentine bunting when I wanted one to sew on (ahem, over a glaring mistake).

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/08/2012 15:36

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/08/2012 15:38

Tis Monday 3rd September PKK, which feels aaaaaaages away, but I am sure will come round quickly enough. That's last posting btw.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/08/2012 15:41

OK, I will see if I can make a few hearts out of what I have left over and then get it posted

bobkate · 15/08/2012 23:10

hmm - that's strange. I was sure that I'd done a post. Going mad! Just wanted to know if the address for posting is the same as for Expat's blanket? I still have that in my inbox Smile

PurplePidjin · 16/08/2012 05:00

Oops wrong thread!
