Following on from our previous support thread please check in here if there's any help, particularly (but not exclusively) knitting help, you need for the squares for 3girlies, who sadly lost her beloved 6-year-old dd Flora recently.
The details of the blanket project are here and it directs you to the Crafting Guide on Woolly Hugs, with specific sections for crocheters and knitters. I am still maintaining the original document mostly because I haven't got around to separating out the stuff that's already on Woolly Hugs now from the newer suggestions we've had in the last few weeks. So please, by all means do send me suggestions for new patterns or ideas.
For those of you on Ravelry and participating in the Ravellenic games, I think squares could be entered under a number of categories such as balance beads, doubleknit boxing, lace longjump among possibly some others.
Woolly Hugs is a charity established by a group of Mumsnet users. They knit / crochet handmade blankets and other items for families experiencing difficult times.

I will need to contribute to Refuge by post, but happy to buddy up with other crafters.
pidj - good to see I am on the right lines, I've had the squares laid out on the floor for a week or two now so I can keep moving them around 
Yep, crochet so you can adjust for varying tensions. This is how i do it:
- vacuum to get rid of the worst of the cat hair
- group the squares by approximate colour then work out how many there'll be per row
- lay them out on the floor
- faff around with them for an hour or so
- give up and make coffee
- collect each row into freezer bags labelled 1-however many
- crochet row 1 to row 2 as a continuous line of dc, then 2 to 3 etc
- crochet down the columns
- edge
There are several weeks in between steps 2 and 9
I'm occupying myself constructing MrsY's and making baby clothes 
I have a ball each of mid green and pale grey baby cashmerino - any (crochet) suggestions? They don't really go together so a blanket is out. Maybe a lacy cowl for me in the grey?
Trib I love the dino blanket! I may have to learn iner intertaisia intertiasia to knit with two colours!
My mahoosive bag of stylecraft wool arrived yesterday which had to be smuggled in past DH in a style usually only reserved for another new pair of shoes. Still struggling to crochet into a foundation chain though so after a bit of practise I switched back to knitting the ballet cardigan!
My ds has been complaining that this blanket which my Mum knitted for him as a baby is now too small for him. What with him being 7, I'm not that surprised . So my next blanket project (hmm, next but one as I want to do one for a good friend whose wife is due next month) will be this dino blanket.
If people are looking for other projects to do in the meantime, the Refuge blanket campaign has got underway, although they haven't released this year's pattern book yet. (Not that should stop anyone from getting started, last year's book has some awesome patterns in). At the mo this is for complete blankets only but I'm not sure we'd find it impossible to put together a blanket between us!

I did another square tonight. Yippee, only 2 to go now, and I can get back to the Debbie Bliss. at saving the UK economy.
