OP posts:
Nimbostratus100 · 14/04/2023 05:06

hooray!

Ndd135632 · 14/04/2023 05:11

Indeed. A vote for Tory cod be good 🐟

Bosky · 14/04/2023 05:26

"Fishing Sunak" 😂

Bosky · 14/04/2023 05:34

Interview with Rishi Sunak, April 2023 - Gender Clip

Automatically generated transcript - in keeping with the autocucumber in the OP title I have not corrected the speech misrecognitions 😂

said serkier said recently that 99 of
women I quote of course haven't got a
penis he said what percentage would you
put it at?

on a slightly different point of view to
him on this and I like I've been very
clear that when it cut you know on this
on this topic it's 100 yeah I think the
first thing to say is look we should
always have compassion and understanding
and tolerance for those who are thinking
about their gender of course we should
right we're a compassion and
understanding societies and we will
always remember that but when it comes
to these issues of protecting women's
rights women's spaces I think the issue
of of biological sex is fundamentally
important when we think about those
questions I've said that repeatedly and
that's why I talked about the equalities
act last year it's why secretary of
state Kenny written to the
um the commission they've responded with
some advice about
about the equalities act and how it
should think about biological sex we're
in the process of looking at that but as
a general as a as a general you know as
a general kind of operating principle
for me biological sex is vitally
fundamentally important to these
questions we can't forget that and
that's why we need to make sure
particularly when it comes to Women's
Health Women's sports or indeed spaces
that we're protecting those rights and
those places

shard5 · 14/04/2023 05:46

But why have they let things get so bad? They've been in power for 12 years is it and this shitshow has grown and grown and now it's completely out of hand?
I'm glad he's saying it but I fear it's too little too late.

Bosky · 14/04/2023 06:28

They had TRA MPs in key positions for a long time: Theresa May, Maria Miller, Penny Mordaunt, etc. plus an advisory committee of TRAs advising Government.

Roadtrips · 14/04/2023 06:34

They could have turned this around many years ago, they enabled many victims and waited for the media to turn public opinion. They wanted many people to experience pain before they would make the tiny changes required to update the meaning of sex in the equality act and it still hasn't happened.

They still preside over an NHS with women being raped and refused NHS care, end of life NHS care that was queered by Lucys light - Watts, so many now dead and their experience died with them, nobody will ever know what they were put through, or the sick women self excluding suffering day in day out, because they don't want to be abused by the NHS gaslighting them or enabling rapes on wards.

Deeds not words Mr PM, what's the hold up excuse now?

Bosky · 14/04/2023 06:39

"Deeds not words Mr PM, what's the hold up excuse now?"

Agree 100%!

Pinesinthedunes · 14/04/2023 06:42

I would really like to see some action. The Conservatives have presided over all of this mess and have had it in their full power to slam on the brakes and go into reverse this entire time. Its easy to make empty pledges now. I'm only going to be persuaded by action.

BenCoopersSupportWren · 14/04/2023 06:44

I mean, I’m glad someone in Westminster remembers their Biology GCSE but I’m still not voting Tory.

Just wish Labour or the Lib Dems would wake up and smell the binary, immutable coffee.

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 07:20

They wanted many people to experience pain before they would make the tiny changes required to update the meaning of sex in the equality act and it still hasn't happened.

This kind of statement is why I hate discussing politics. Have they been useless? Yes. Have they minimised what’s going on and not prioritised women’s rights, also yes. But they didn’t do it because they wanted people to ‘experience pain’. They’re not psychopaths. Updating the equality act isn’t something a PM can just do either.

Rishis response was exactly the kind of response I want and expect. He didn’t take the opportunity to drag Kier over the penis comment, he barely acknowledged that part of the question. He went straight to, we are a compassionate society and we should have compassion for anyone thinking about their gender but biological sex is vitally important and we will be protecting women’s rights in the equality act. Why the fuck can’t Starmer do that?!?!! I’m so frustrated. Both Boris and Liz said similar. It was Theresa May that created the opportunities to ignore the equality act and allow the law to be confused in practice.

Cellotapedispenser · 14/04/2023 07:23

It feels a bit like a dam finally bursting and I'm really relieved someone senior has finally stated the indisputable fact that men cannot be women.

I still can't vote tory for a myriad of reasons, but I will be writing to my 'be kind, it's complicated' labour MP today quoting this, and asking him if his party still wishes to risk the female vote due to denying we exist. I will spoil my ballot on the day if not.

Ourladycheesusedatum · 14/04/2023 07:29

Right, well he said the words I want to hear, so at this moment in time I'm voting Tory.
If labour get a shift on they might be able to change my mind. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Roadtrips · 14/04/2023 07:49

I am out of patience.

Public services shouldn't be involved with this ideology, it should be turned around.

He is also from a banking background, so why has he allowed weird ESG credit scores control businesses who change UK culture with this shite ideology? Come on Mr moneyman, tell them go take a hike, the UK isn't putting up with this!

Kucinghitam · 14/04/2023 07:49

I still won't vote Tory (and where we live they're never in with a chance anyway), but I'm still delighted because this gives me a way to push back if we get canvassers from Lab/Lib.

TodayInahurry · 14/04/2023 07:53

I like Mr Sunak he is what the country needs, he is busy sorting the problems caused by covid, when all these insanities crept in. I do not trust Starmer on this or anything

xabia · 14/04/2023 07:59

Well it could be a Tory vote from me for the first time but only if there is action to follow these words! Words alone are not enough.

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 08:00

Then I watch Caroline Nokrd talk about this and…

Whaeanui · 14/04/2023 08:00

Nokes!

Bosky · 14/04/2023 08:34

I don't know what discipline is like in the Tory Party but surely Sunak's statement will give Nokes and the other TRA MPs the Party line and keep them in line - at least until the next General Election?

We need to see action before then.

RoyGBivisacolorfulman · 14/04/2023 08:38

A vote for Tory is to keep destroying the country. Come on now they have had 12 years.

This thread is sad indeed.

Awful, isn’t it?

I’m revolted at Labour’s inability to provide a credible opposition. Labour are embarrassing 😥

RoyGBivisacolorfulman · 14/04/2023 08:45

And the Torys even more so.

Labour haven't had a chance yet.

Beowulfa · 14/04/2023 08:45

As another poster has said, Sunak has acknowledged the importance of biological sex whilst being mindful of the gender-confused. Compassion tempered with practicality- why is this so fucking difficult for Starmer? He could have put this to bed years ago and leave the Tories with nothing.
