"Matt Rattley, a non-stipendiary biochemistry lecturer at Oxford's St Hilda’s College and part-time in the Department of Biochemistry, shared recent photos of himself wearing noticeable prosthetic breasts while teaching. Critics raise concerns about the impact on students, including young female GCSE and A-level tutees and women at the historic women’s college, with some academics like Professor Michael Biggs suggesting it could create a degrading environment or even amount to sexual harassment. Oxford University emphasizes maintaining professional standards and respect for students while fostering inclusivity, but declines to comment on individual cases. The situation highlights ongoing discussions over personal expression versus workplace expectations in education."

Of course it's sexual harassment. I'd go as far as to say it's assault - forcing women to participate in his fetish without their consent. Women and girls - he also tutors A level and GCSE students.

I am so sick of these men and their perversions being forced on us, and if we do not consent we're the bad guys. Just, no. Enough.

He speaks

Seeing him moving and talking as if having that strapped to his chest is the most normal thing in the world is so unsettling. And the join around his neck, peeking out from that wispy beard... Dear god.

At least Kenny Everett was funny. And not teaching kids.

I like to think KE would have had a lot to say about this nonsense. Bless him.

At least Kenny Everett was taking the piss

It's particularly egregious that it's St Hilda's. It's co ed now, but was set up as a place for women to study when men wouldn't let them into the other colleges. So disrespecting women in this way is even more offensive than normal.

He tutors A level and GCSE students privately, in addition to lecturing at St Hilda's.

Ah, thanks.

And parents are happy to pay for this?

moominontherun · Yesterday 14:39

Guess we are just letting people run riot with their fetishes now. No child of mine would be going anywhere near him for ‘tutoring’. But I bet the students in his lectures are too afraid to say anything lest they are branded TERFs or bigots or whatever, so everyone just smiles and nods while he gets off on sitting there with his ridiculous plastic honkers.

Datun · Yesterday 14:44

What's frustrating, and double abusive, is the fact that everyone's meant to pretend this isn't a fetish.

I believe the dissenters last time said women have breast implants too. Like women having breast implants is some kind of fetish.

No, it isn't.

And it's that deceitful, gaslighting bollocks which, certainly to me, makes this all the more repugnant.

Hedgehogforshort · Yesterday 14:45

I would like to extend my thanks to him for demonstrating exactly where the “bring your whole self to work” mantra takes us.

Secretseverywhere · Yesterday 14:46

I do miss people having a bit of shame. I really don’t care to know what your personal proclivities are. Can we not go go back to the days where you were just expected to bring your professional selves to work. Not your “whole self” for an nice affirming circle jerk.

There was a Canadian wood shop teacher who did similar (high school kids), photographed without at weekends so the enormous boobs were really just so he could gratify himself at the expense of children.

It does mske you wonder where this leads as everything becomes normalised they respond with more batshittery to generate requisite thrill.

Yes. It's a Catch 22.

Grayson Perry said he stopped wanting to go out dressed as a little girl when people stop being shocked, due to his fame.

This man, presumably, is delighted that people are feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, outraged.

It's quite un fucking believable that grown men and women are allowing young students to be subjected to it.

Whosthetabbynow · Yesterday 14:52

And why’s it always got to be a teacher. The bloke who comes to read the gas meter doesn’t dress like that.

thehorroring · Yesterday 14:53

Fucking pervert.

totino · Yesterday 14:56

Still not convinced the breasts are fake, to be honest. Especially since the original thread had an image of fake gag boobs and they didn't look anything like this. I mean, nobody except me has been asking so probably not, but this person has a large frame, could theoretically grow large breasts on hormones. Which would also not be my business.

The only other thought I have is that dress codes should apply to everyone, so if the cleavage is to deep for women, it's too deep for Rattley (who AFAIK does not ID as a woman).

menopausalmare · Yesterday 14:58

Yuk. Keep it in the bedroom.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · Yesterday 14:58

Lindy2 · Yesterday 14:00

Even if he was actually female it wouldn't be appropriate to be teaching with so much cleavage on show. No professional woman would dress like that at work.

It's a kink in plain sight.

Agree 💯. Just appalling.

In the video above, you can see the 'join' around his neck where this ridiculous contraption fastens.

If that's real, that's revolting and unacceptable. Where are we drawing the line?

Because tradesmen wouldn't have a large enough audience?

ruffler45 · Yesterday 15:16

I would be asking for a new tutor, I could not take anyone like him seriously that would benefit my education

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Yesterday 15:24

The state of that.

I’d be fascinated to hear if anyone can defend this. Surely there must be some “trans allies” reading who can have a stab at explaining why it’s appropriate?

Do you know what I keep noticing? All these goady activities... They're just going to lead to more restrictions on women. So, they can't combat this nonsense without telling women how to dress. But some women do display a bit of cleavage. But an employer can't say "a half centimetre is fine" because who tf is going to measure that? So it will be: "fully buttoned up" and before you know it, we're in Handmaid territory. Or back to how the UK was not that long ago.

It's one extreme to the other. And people are walking right into it.

Dollymylove · Yesterday 15:27

I can imagine if this person had walked into my class we wouldnt have learned anything.
We would be rolling around the floor howling with laughter 😃 😀

Did this thread start somewhere else and get moved to Feminist Chat? So many new usernames calling this behaviour out!

It was in active conversations, I do sometimes feel out of my depth in this section because I don't always agree about some GC things, but he is actually showing students and teenagers what "gets him off" and it is too far. Would be allowed to walk into work in bandage gear ?

Certainly out of the ordinary then. Would be interested what the story is but it's also none of my business. Like I said, dress a bit too revealing for a professional setting but if this lecturer actually had bad vibes, the reviews would've reflected it.

A bit too revealing????

Christ's sake, you will find any excuse for these vile men won't you.
