Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

The sacrificial lamb: Transsexual "Louise" blames transgenders and GCs for everything. Oh, and also the Government. And the NHS. And gender clinics. And GRCs. And possibly my dog.

Well, this is odd: a strange blog from Nick Wallis, written almost entirely by a "transsexual" (self-termed) person called Louise.

I wouldn't even know where to start to respond to such hyperbole, but the comments by Jennifer Gourley, in the Comments section, say pretty much everything I could think of.

One small quote from "Louise" (it's a pseudonym) sums it up:

"So you see we’re the little guy in the middle being shot at by both sides. The sacrificial lamb in somebody else’s war."

The "little guy" would be transsexuals. Or something.

A transsexual writes…

Over the past couple of years I’ve been corresponding with a couple of older male transsexuals. They are courteous types who have watched in horror at what they see as the politicisation of t…

Louise can’t get hormones now because his GP won’t provide care, he is to see a gender clinic for the specialist services. I can be sympathetic to that, there are people who are left without support and they are going to be feeling lost and worried. I don’t blame the GPs, they know these clinics Are selling snake oil. I don’t hink if like or trust Louise but I can see why he’d be upset about his circumstances. Gender clinics should have been better at being honest.

I am not sure what the point of this guest article was. To show that old-school transexuals are just as divorced from reality as anyone else claiming to be trans? It definitely seems part of LetThemSpeak.

KittyWilkinson · 16/09/2026 00:38

I think most of us here would be able to tell a "poor me" story about the NHS. My specialist clinic was closed down two years ago. The despair and frustration faced by "Louise" isnt unique to trans people. Most of the population with life limiting conditions, along with carers, are struggling for proper support one way or another.

Morecoffeewanted · 16/09/2026 00:46

I wonder if the GPs refusal to continue prescribing hormones to Louise has anything to do with his age?

As I understand from the older women in my family GPs stop wanting to prescribe HRT due to increased cardiovascular problems.

It may be felt that Louise should be treated by a consultant at this stage of his life and the TG clinics to be the place with the most experience?

wherearemypeople · 16/09/2026 01:12

I don't think it's clear that the GP has stopped his prescription. The blog doesn't say that clearly.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 16/09/2026 04:08

It seems like prescriptions on demand, if the GP has stopped his medication there's a medical reason for it, Louise wants what he wants and the GP is just supposed to give it to him.
I consider the article to be part of balanced reporting, NW has written articles about the subject and he's giving someone a platform to put a view from the other side. Character assassination is a big part of the TRA's toolbox, if you can't kill the message then kill the messenger.

I think the point is that it's not Louise and similar who came for our rights. The primary force for obliterating womens rights started with the autogynephiles who wanted to keep their male sexual organs and gained sexual thrills from invading women's privacy and overruling women's boundaries with no intention of ever changing their own bodies, but the legislation was too flabbily worded so that what was intended for the tiny number who can't live with their own dysphoria could be claimed by any man who likes the idea of being in command of what women must do.

Guess again. Transsexuals from the 70s and 80s were demanding to be called women and to be treated as if they were real women - they claimed to be better, in fact, than real women. This entitlement goes back to the start. I daresay a lot of them were AGPs too. It makes no difference what kind they are, what their motivation is. Taking women's rights as their own was always the plan.

It's all content - and therefore money - for Nick, isn't it? The big man saviour of womenkind. How some of you fall for this, I don't know.

lol. 'Journalist writes about topical controversy for money' shocker.

Is this the same as the 'J K Rowling gets legal on defamation' bombshell?

Feck. I give up. Third time. Wallis has been writing solidly and doggedly about the PO scandal since 2010 (and his hundreds and hundreds of blog posts are still online to read). His work, and that of Computer Weekly is the only reason anyone here has heard of the Horizon issue. The ignorance and crass stupidity of some posters here astounds me.

But then you could say that about any journalist couldn’t you? Or any content creator? Or any social commentator? Do you get this upset at all journalists?

DworkinWasRight · 16/09/2026 05:40

The piece was interesting as an insight into how these people’s minds work. He doesn’t understand the Supreme Court ruling, he doesn’t understand that GRCs are available to people who haven’t had surgery, and he doesn’t understand that the conflation of old-style transsexuals with people choosing their gender identity is entirely the fault of the trans activist movement, not gender-critical campaigners.

Any sympathy I might have felt was eliminated by the “wives and daughters” comment.

The post is so dramatic, I thought 'Louise' had made an appearance.

He is a journalist who does indeed make money by producing content. He has never pretended to be anything else.

Were you confused about this?

borntobequiet · 16/09/2026 07:47

He doesn’t want to get his medication from a specialist clinic because it won’t validate his view of himself as different from other people with near identical delusions. Boo hoo.
A good reminder to help Nick by signing up for a regular donation though.

Seriestwo · 16/09/2026 08:07

That’s true. Lots of these older men are unhappy about being lumped in with people who have not “earned” their “womanhood” with leg shaving, hair growing, hair removing and genital surgery. They think that putting on your wife’s bra and making an announcement that you’re a lady now isn’t the same amount of “effort” and deserves no prize. I can see that must be annoying but I don’t think that “effort” entitles any man to my rights.

"Louise" is incorrect in blaming gender critical people for lumping transexuals and transgenders together. It was the trans who did that, while simultaneously lumping themselves together with gays and lesbians, although their issues could hardly be more different.

'I'm as GC as they come. But....[bangs on and in and on in increasingly unhinged and unfactual fashion about any prominent person who says something GC and conflates FWR posters with the American hard right]`

'I transitioned as a child, I'm one of the most vulnerable in society, I'm no threat to women [exposes seething entitlement and misogyny, usually within 3 posts]`

'I am GC, I just want to protect my poor vulnerable trans child [increasingly desperate and deranged hyperbole and seething hatred of women]`

Different accounts of course, but interesting how the attempt goes 'how you doing, fellow kids' incredibly quickly every time. Is it because transactivism precludes empathy for anyone but the favoured group?

Useful in terms of easiness to spot, I suppose. Even if tedious.

Imdunfer · 16/09/2026 08:33

So can anyone explain to me in words that make any sense what the difference between a transexual man and a transgender man is?

One is a man who declares he is, or feels like, a woman. The other is .....

Yes it is. Those in the genderborg think they’re really clever by trying to convince people they are reasonable and neutral with asking faux innocent questions. They can’t keep it up though. Theres a reason their main slogan was “ no debate”. They can’t tolerate any dissension or questioning, as thst just displays the incoherence of their arguments.
its shown often. There’s a poster here who is very “believe trans people when they say who they are”, but then when a TIM commits a crime, tells us that’s not a “real” transperson as no TIM would ever do that.

Pingponghavoc · 16/09/2026 08:36

I'm not interested in the hierarchy of transgenderism.

When, how and why a man 'transitioned' makes no difference to me. The fact that they are upset about women maintaining boundaries says everything i need to know.

No man has changed sex and single sex spaces and opportunities exist for reasons.

Its a good article because it shows that the hierarchy just makes up rules to justify their inclusion in women's spaces, and how they ignore women in the process.

I will have no idea when, how or why 'Louise' transitioned just by meeting him. Just because he's older doesn't mean he transitioned a long time ago and is transexual rather than stonewall transgender. And so what if he did?

The definition of woman is about women, not men and our spaces and opportunities are for women not men.

We need to remove law that give men a way to redefine themselves away from being men - stop giving them female id, stop pretending that we can transition away from our sex. Not add new layers of gender identity.

Beowulfa · 16/09/2026 08:37

I read this as the NHS having transferred the prescribing of cross-sex hormones from General Practice to specialist clinics, not that Louise is being denied medication outright. Louise just doesn't like the word "transgender" featuring in the names of these clinics. A revealing read indeed.

RedToothBrush · 16/09/2026 08:39

I read it and just went

"Oh fuck off. Just another male telling women he knows better".

Tough shit. Reality doesn't magically disappear because you transitioned before everyone else.
