Article on the threat to UK women from Afghan immigrants

SwirlyGates · 17/08/2026 10:41

"The statistics clearly show that Afghan nationals pose a disproportionate threat when it comes to sex offences. Last year, Sky News’s data and forensics unit – using annual population survey data from 2021 and Met Police figures – found that, for Afghan nationals, there were 59.2 sexual offence charges per 10,000 across England and Wales. The corresponding figure for UK nationals was 2.7 offences per 10,000 people."

https://www.spiked-online.com/2026/08/17/we-need-to-talk-about-afghan-sex-offenders/

The Spiked article actually misrepresents the Sky article, which does a deeper dive into the data and concludes "Our estimates conclude that Afghans are closer to three times more likely to be convicted of a sexual offence than someone born in the UK". NB though age is mentioned, i.e. recent migrants are more likely to be young and criminally active, neither seem to analyse sex, though it is mentioned in Farage's figures - there must be more male immigrants than female; presumably this has been taken into account?

More and more I find the threat, especially to women, troublesome and worrying. To generalise, the Left view all immigration as all fine and dandy; the Right disagree and want it reduced or stopped. On the other hand, Burnham's proposal to place asylum seekers in middle-class areas implicitly shows that he knows that they are problematic: "We cannot have a situation where it's only the poorest communities in the country that receive all of the dispersal of refugees and asylum seekers." If the refugees and asylum seekers are beneficial to the UK, which is promoted as the Left-wing view, then he would be saying that the rich/middle class areas will benefit from his plans, rather than saying they need to share the burden. "Blackpool, and other communities ... have had to take more than their fair share of asylum seekers," she [immigration minister Anna Turley] added. "That's put a huge burden on local communities and created real civil unrest." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c204d4z1gg8o

TL:DR Are male immigrants, especially illegal ones, a particular threat to women, and if so what can be done?

We need to talk about Afghan sex offenders

Welcoming unvetted men into Britain from a deeply misogynistic culture is putting women at risk.

I’m not sure how politicians have convinced people this is ok.

They call us racist to get us to be quiet.

At some point what we see with our eyes and hear from other people causes fear that outweighs our discomfort of being called racist. For some this has already happened.

The grooming gang inquiry having to be crowd funded should have rung alarm bells. Crowd funding for rape gang victims to receive their own court transcripts was another. Crowd funding used to be for playgroup equipment etc - now it’s to get justice for girls who are tortured and raped. I can link if people have not read it, it’s on line.

Many people think because THEY wouldn’t get in a boat and cross the ocean unless they were desperate that the men must have the same attitude. Young men are more comfy with danger. Look at the young male gang who drove the wrong way down a motorway - they clearly enjoyed the adrenaline rush. Crossing the ocean wearing a life jacket and being picked up by the RNLI isn’t as dangerous as driving the wrong way down a motorway. I think people are naive. They can’t imagine others perspectives and attitude to risk. Women tend to be more cautious. They hate to think of their son doing it.

Rapes are rocketing in this country. Rapists get away with a slap on the wrist IF they are reported. Rapists go to great lengths to access victims and I am afraid for my daughters and their friends. The authorities attitude to rape gangs shows me they couldn’t care less about teen girls. Would men cross the ocean to rape? Maybe. I’ll now only vote for a party that will stop this and deport people. I used to vote Lib Dem.

Sadly it's usually women defending these men and calling people racists. I remember expressing my view that unvetted immigration from countries that stone women to death and engage in group sexual assaults in public is risky.

People on here were banging on about how most sex crimes in Europe are perpetrated by European men and how most of 'the flaggers' are abusers (which is a ludicrous claim as no authorities were ID'ing them all and undertaking CRB checks).

I had the same experience on here a couple of years ago. I feel there has been a shift though. Perhaps seeing 1000 young men a week rock up on our beaches has been a wake up call. You can be completely in denial about the likely behavioural differences of men coming from countries that regard women as chattel and still understand that in a cohort of 35,000 undocumented males there are guaranteed to be a significant number of rapists and ne’er-do-wells and likely a handful of murderers / terrorists / gang members / seriously mentally ill etc. etc. Eventually this will effect your and your daughters freedom if allowed to continue.

The treatment of Rhiannon Whyte's family is awful. No accountability.

I really hope the family manage to pursue some accountability from those who left Rhiannon so unprotected. Rhiannon's human right to life was totally disregarded. There was an obvious risk to female staff working at the hotels full of unvetted illegal immigrants, she should never have been left alone to walk home late at night. Really there should be corporate manslaughter charges.

Her mother said her murder was totally unnecessary in every way, and this is true.

The biggest question with Rhiannon's murder is why her murderer was left free to roam to follow and kill her. He didn't have a right to be in the UK, he'd arrived via small boat 3 months earlier and had already been denied asylum in Germany so why was he free to murder Rhiannon? His cold bloodedness is chilling, he threw her phone away, bought beer, then was seen dancing via CCTV. Then he claimed to be a child in law to try and pervert the course of justice which delayed everything. Why was he allowed to do this, further torturing Rhiannon's family?

Why people aren't more angry about this is beyond me.

Same. You can see the reaction on here at times. Posters don’t want to even see her name.

I do think things have shifted a bit over the last few years, only because it was ridiculously bad a couple of years ago and the cries of racism were incredibly loud.

Now there’s still a few, even Starmer was a main culprit for that line of attack.

But still enough to persist and deny the issues and put the blame on women who object.

@GreySkySummer the statistics will make it more likely that w white British male will commit more rapes than an asylum seeker because there are more white British males in this country. I don’t doubt some of these men are escaping horrendous situations BUT why don’t they stay in the first safe country they come to? It’s pretty obvious the streets are paved in gold in the UK. Being kind and compassionate is a blessing and also our downfall. At the moment British people of every creed and colour are suffering and yet we’re expected to pay for thousands upon thousands of single men to claim asylum? Why, if they are genuine do they throw their ID overboard? They are being coached to play the system! What would you say to the mother of the girl who got murdered by the asylum seeker where she worked? What would you say to the man who got raped? I just don’t get your selective outrage at me for pointing out facts, yet you couldn’t dare criticise the process and the thousands of men who aren’t interested in our way of life or women’s rights!

If foreign men are not committing crimes then the government should publish accurate crime stats detailing country of birth. Obtain this at every arrest. No self ID but accurate data. Instead they say more British men commit more crime - that means any man who holds a British passport. And of course more British men living in Britain commit more crime when you look at the Numbers. If they didn’t that would be even more concerning.

Look at European stats from countries that publish crime and financial contribution by nationality. I can only assume it’s the same here and they are hiding it from us. If it looked good they would publish it.

Extract from Berlingske - but loads of sources are out there if this one is distasteful. The numbers are from the Danish MOJ.

‘Citing numbers from the Ministry of Justice, Berlingske reports that non-Western immigrants, who make up 8.4% of the Danish population, commit 14% of the country’s crimes of aggravated violence and 24.3% of the rapes, judging by number of convicted.
Maybe even more concerning are the figures for second-generation non-Western immigrants. Making up a mere 2.2% of the population, this demographic is responsible for 15.6% of the violent crimes and 8.1% of the rapes.
Put together, this means perpetrators of 29.6% of the country’s violent crimes and 32.4% of rapes are from a non-Western background, despite only making up 10.6% of the population.
“These are deeply disturbing numbers. Therefore, we must take strong and decisive action against this behavior, which is completely unacceptable,” Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard

It is not racist to want girls (black, brown, white, young, old, working class, middle class whoever) to be safe from immigrants who cannot be vetted. And after researching the DBS procedures I now believe this includes many other nationalities who arrive here legally. If we cannot rely on another countries government prosecuting rapists (some cultures blame the women or require her to have several witnesses to the rape) then how can we rely on their crime records to fulfil our dbs checks?

The government have been very clever. They initially put migrants in towns and the middle classes were okay with that. Now middle class villages are being used to house the men. And working class folk think it’s funny. The government are dividing the people of the country.

I have watched a few interviews with villagers and I believe the residents of the villages are aware of the double standards so talk about ‘no amenities’ ‘no shops’ ‘no sport centres’ - isn’t that racist? Surely the men just like the peace and quiet and the views like the respectable middle class folk? Why are they needing different things? Walks in the country and a few books and newspapers - maybe a dog to keep them company?

People need to be honest. If the middle class folk are worried about their villagers being raped and crime rising then bloody say it. These are educated people who have more resources and ability to legally challenge. If after researching crime, other countries crime rates etc why not say we want to join others and campaign for the removal of these men from the country. But instead the villagers are suggesting the migrants are better in towns - presumably so town girls and women can be raped instead. One bloke said the village kids are vulnerable not streetwise like town and city kids. WTF!

If you wouldn’t want an immigrant HMO next to your own home or the home of your elderly mother then speak up. If you say but my mum’s street isn’t the ‘right’ street for these men - then I think you are as racist as the people (like me) calling for deportations! Least I’m honest about my view on deportations. If that means people hate me and think I’m a meany does it really matter? My girls classmates, English, Polish, Romanian, Indian etc deserve to go to the park, to the cafe in the local town, to the ice rink or bowling alley without encountering unvetted migrants. I will use my energy standing up for children not blokes escaping France.

Well you should care, because we are going to need all the men we can get from various different countries around the world settled here and handed citizenship if we are to defeat the rise of the far right in the upcoming general elections.

Surely you are trolling?

They know the data in the UK would show the same.

That's why they go to great efforts to obfuscate.

Meanwhile womens and childrens rights in the UK go backwards. As you say, girls will have to stop going to the park and participating freely in public areas. That's the consequence. It's already happened in the towns these men have been housed in, as well as rapes and attacks.

One of my close friends is a fantastically integrated Moroccan woman, speaks English and three other languages fluently, higher rate tax payer, senior child therapist with multiple assistants. Quite the positive addition to Britain.
We have these friendly arguments on migration. She tells me of her and compatriots who feel compelled to leave their village for the West to better themselves, that I don't get how people need to leave war zones, look at the Moroccan football team in the World Cup where most of the players were born in Europe to migrant parents, where's my pity for those with fewer life chances than me?
Guess where we end up agreeing?
When I tell her about the burgeoning HMO Britain culture, her area of NE London/Essex borders prime territory for this policy.
Her response? Fuck that, if they get an HMO with illegals/asylum seekers in it on their street, they're selling up and moving on.
When I point out that her response could feature on a Reform political broadcast, she laughs hysterically as the game is up...that even a migrant in the West with the most pro migrant attitudes has zero tolerance for illegals planted next to her.
Quelle surprise.

@Treesandflower we seem to have lost control of antisocial behaviour and crime in this country. I know the statistics supposedly say that crime is down, but this is not what people are experiencing on the street; meanwhile they are closing police stations - why? It's across the board, from trivial things to serious crime. In no particular order, we have

  • rubbish everywhere, and lots of flytipping. The UK is become a dump
  • people playing loud music or films on trains and buses, or in restaurants
  • violence in schools, hospitals, shops
  • shoplifting is practicaly decriminalised, and the police don't bother
  • if your car/bike/phone is stolen, the police aren't interested, and even if you track it down they won't get it back for you
  • shops used as fronts for money laundering
  • convicted rapists getting community service instead of prison
  • serious, violent offenders are released early from prison and offend again
  • masked-up teenagers or young men zipping around our roads on ebikes, scooters and mopeds. The teenagers in Ireland in the stolen car were an extreme example of this - obviously it's not just the UK that has this problem
  • arson. Done by stupid people for stupid kicks.
  • teenagers congregating in town centres with knives and machetes
  • random violence towards strangers - in my city centre a young female tourist was recently punched in the face by a group of teens in broad daylight
  • and then, back to the topic of the thread, illegal immigration, with it seems little political will to control either the immigration itself or the type of people we are letting in. As well as the immigrants themselves, someone above highlighted the gang activity involved in smuggling, which is a concern in itself. We are not just talking about random people wanting to come to the UK - the gangs enabling it are hardened criminals.

There may be some exceptions to this, e.g. prosecutions for shoplifters or long sentences for rapists, but there are many, many incidents of the kind in my list. And too much of it is excused as "undeveloped brains" (teens are to young to understand that rape is wrong?) or "lack of education" (people need to be educated not to set fires in a heatwave?) or "the illegal migrants had such a hard time in their own country" (then why don't they appreciate that they are somewhere better, and behave better?).

This guy - why did we let him in? Convicted murderer in Romania, came here and murdered again. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/convicted-romania-killer-guilty-murder-uk-met-police-old-bailey-b1293862.html

A crime has to become a recorded crime before it can be added up. If people know reporting certain crimes is a waste of time, they won't bother.

Treesandflower · Yesterday 14:17

Have you tried to report a crime recently? It’s very hard to do.

I witnessed a horrid shoplifting - masked men. 5pm in a leafy area. Lots of kids in the shop. Checkout women were around 18-25 years of age. They said ‘ no point in reporting it, it happens regularly - few times a month’. The said neither they nor HQ will report it.

I was in the shop with my kids. No way was I going to allow this to get omitted from crime stats so I rang the police non emergency. 40 minutes later - I got cut off. Went to report on line - after filling in my details 🧐 including my gender amd inside leg measurements it crashed.

Maybe people are not reporting as it’s pointless (the police do bigger all) and they don’t have 1 hour to waste.

A friend is a police officer - says the patrol car bleeps constantly showing uninsured drivers, no tax, etc etc so many they can’t do anything about it. He’s not prone to exaggeration and I can’t verify his account as I am not a police officer but I can imagine it’s true. These are crimes surely - who reports them?

edited to add - they swept products off shelves into holdalls - expensive items and chocolate. This wasn’t a desperately hungry group of men feeding a starving child.

A crime has to become a recorded crime before it can be added up. If people know reporting certain crimes is a waste of time, they won't bother.

Edited to add: what is actually claimed to be down - the overall number of crimes or the percentage of crimes per head of population, or both? If it's just percentage per head, there could still be more people in prison than there used to be, if population growth has outstripped the decline rate per head.

Have you tried to report a crime recently? It’s very hard to do.

The Telegraph ran a piece where a block of flats in W. London have endemic parcels thefts. Evidence thief snuck in thru a side entrance, scooping boxes up and leaving.
A resident then put dummy boxes down, CCTV right at it, full video of perps face even as he broke into locked cupboards as well, he then confronted the perp, seriously threatened, offered to show the 4K quality video to local police who declined, and pretty much made him feel unwelcome for wasting their time.
Only when the paper ran with the story did the police state they were wrong to dismiss and of course interested in what the video had to show...

If crime is down why are prisons overflowing to such an extent that they considered letting rapists, murderers and violent offenders out early? Something doesn’t add up.

Because they are full of overseas offenders!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

The easiest ones to assess are very severe violent crimes. Eg murder. You can get murders going unrecorded (Turkey has a low femicide rate but a surprisingly.high rate of women randomly jumping out of windows) so it's harder to compare rates country to country. But within a country you can generally tell whether they are going up or down. And overall, murder rates per capita (as you say that's the most important measure) in the UK have been declining since their peak in 2002.
It's why conversations around femicide/men murdering their partners matter because behind the stats for women murdered there are women getting abused and you would expect an increase in domestic murders (as happened during COVID lockdowns) to reflect a hidden rise in DV that is never recorded. (And also annoying when men say why do people only care about women being murdered. They don't. It's just femicide is an indicator of wider patterns of violence)

As with partner murders and DV you can extrapolate from the general murder rate to assume overall a place with lower murder rates probably has lower gang violence, lower rates of theft etc. That is an extrapolation though and might not always be accurate. Eg if changes in medical care has increased survival rates from stabbing etc it could explain a lower murder rate. So you also have to look at other stats like assault with a weapon. Those are still more reliable than theft, shoplifting, pickpocketing which are incredibly affected by police schemes and reporting rates.

So all taken, probably the crime rate is down. But that's no comfort if you are a victim of crime and the police don't care.

Wow!!!!! That’s ridiculous. Even with the bloody video they don’t want to investigate because they know it’s pointless. Can you imagine what it must be like to be a copper in 2026?!! It must be like trying to catch a mouse in a rodent infestation.

It's more that sentences for many crimes have been increased. If you increase sentences for some offences even by a small amount you turn a prison service that is managing into one that is collapsing even if everything else stays the same

Also, noone talks about this but a big part of the problem is staffing levels. It's not just physical spaces. It's funding for staff and having people wanting to do the job. And they have been struyto recruit hence shortages in prison places

Finally a lot of prisons are old and haven't been sufficiently maintained. When a prison has to close.completelt.due to dangerously high levels of radon gas (true story) that increases pressure elsewhere. When cells are flooded due to Victorian plumbing failing and showering dirty water from the ceiling they can't be used and that increases pressure.

I am not convinced crimes are being recorded correctly.

https://osr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/publications/the-quality-of-police-recorded-crime-statistics-for-england-and-wales/pages/2/

Extract from above

Police recorded crime data are administrative data that are collected as part of police operations. For a crime to be recorded, the incident must be brought to the attention of the police, and the police must decide to record the incident as a crime.

While the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) confirms a long-term downward trend in victimization independent of police reports, the Office for National Statistics notes that police-recorded data alone is an unreliable indicator of actual crime trends due to these recording and reporting gaps.

I have police officers as clients incl high ranking ones.
The daily life of a PC/WPC is busy busy busy...fights, drunks, addicts, DV, those pesky Tweets, Palestine demos etc.
Oh yes, and the odd shoplifting, burglary/mobile theft/car theft, assault, rape etc.
Their whole day is spent attending crimes, dutifully logging details, escorting sad people to hospital etc.
Now, you'd think when they got back to the station, they'd be raring to go, get the crime investigations started...I mean, we've watched crime dramas for years, the cops always up for crime fighting, putting the perps away, protecting the public they serve.
Um, no...the highpoint of these officers' days is...collating the data on their computers, making sure info is correctly logged, and...and...and that's it.
The job is purely escorting and ferrying sad people to and from hospital and social services, and keeping crime stats up to date.
There is zero desire to get crimes solved, put perps away.
This was explained to me 3x by a sergeant until I finally got it.
"Protect And Serve" is now "Escort And Log".

Foreign national offenders typically make up about 12% of the total prison population in England and Wales.

They are overrepresented in sex crimes, drugs and fraud and theft. Lovely. Albanians top the list. Let’s keep those boats coming.

Having worked in the Education sector I can tell you an awful lot of my work was logging behaviour problems on the computer but not actually having much time in the day to try and meaningfully impact that behaviour positively. I can well imagine it’s the same for a lot of these front facing roles. You have to prove you have followed policy before you dare do anything else.

No disrespect, but it's not our country's function to have to adapt to the war trauma of these men.
It's really too bad they're damaged, but they don't need to be damaged over here.
Would I have wanted to foist the shell shocked British soldiers of WW1 onto another country and allow their citizens to pick up the pieces? No.
When you add in their endemic issues with women, and then throw in serious mental trauma, it's unacceptable we're taking tens of thousands of them.
I've read reports from sexual health workers in the US where recent Afghan men have absolutely no control on their sexual impulses, and are violent with it.
More suicidal empathy from the West.
