Strange that both reports are from Scotland!

This should have been the case from the beginning. There was no need for all the tra stupidity.

I was pleased to read this from the first story:

It adds: “Following legal advice, the Willow Service now operates as a single-sex service in line with the 2010 Act and is therefore only open to those assigned female at birth.
“Alternative service provision is now made on a gender-neutral basis to ensure that transgender and non-binary persons, both those previously accessing the Willow Service and new service users, are able to access appropriate justice services.”

And also this from the second link:

The guidance stated that service providers should restrict single-sex spaces such as changing rooms and bathrooms to people of that biological sex unless the facilities are self-contained.
It also encouraged firms to provide a “third” or mixed-sex space, on the condition that it doesn’t compromise single-sex provision.

This is common sense, everyone is adequately provided for according to their specific needs. It's so simple.

Edited

Isn't it simple.
But for the Humpty Dumpties in society, their mangling of facts, science and language now leaves them spending their evening raging at women on a parenting board.

Absolutely.

And everyone goes about their lives.

SidewaysOtter · 14/08/2026 22:09

Just to clarify, have we defined 'cult', since we're being accused of being one?

I mean, clearly it's the accusation du jour but is this just one of those terms like 'literal violence' that now doesn't mean anything beyond "You are mean women who didn't shut up and go away when we told you to"?

The nonsense is being dismantled, one rainbow brick at a time. Excellent news 😊

“One rainbow brick at a time”? So you truly are coming for gay people next?

BiologicalRobot · 14/08/2026 22:13

The council said alternative provision has been put in place to ensure trans people are not without services.

Hallelujah! Now why didn't the fecking idiots do that in the first place? It's not hard, it's not complicated, and it won't cost that much - definitely less than a court case anyway.

Thanks for posting @IwantToRetire

They had to get that little dig in, surprised they didn't find a way to slip in a quick cis

No. HTH.

Ok.. if you ‘HTH’, how else should I interpret that comment?

It’s very clear to everyone else. That mutual respect and balanced human rights will be restored. Trans people will get their rights but no more than anyone else. Duh

At least it's a, probably accidental, acknowledgement that gay people are not the same as trans.

Up until fairly recently allowing gay people to get civil partnerships instead of allowing them to get married was considered ‘balanced human rights’ so forgive me my scepticism.

CassOle · 14/08/2026 22:30

So, is our delightful visitor (maybe from Reddit?) trying to bury this thread by endlessly bumping old threads from 2010?

Clusterfuckular · 14/08/2026 22:35

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5566286-ipsos-pride-report-2026

This interesting report surveyed around 19.000 people worldwide, including the UK.

It shows that support for LGB people remains among the highest in the world in the UK, including over issues like same sex marriage.

'Q. To what extent do you support or oppose the following:

'Same-sex couples should be allowed to marry legally'

Global average: 53%
UK: 66%'

The report also shows that people worldwide, including in the UK, don't agree that 'trans' people should be permitted to access single sex spaces of the opposite sex, or that gender incongruent children should be treated with hormones, or men be permitted to compete in women's sport.

Yes, completely gone. They must have really pissed off MN Towers with their endless 'Rise!' posts bumping old threads.

Women weren’t having to bring court cases and tribunals against gay and lesbian people for clashes of belief. No defence is necessary against non-incursions into women’s rights.

Be as cynical as you like; I’ll repeat this bit which is clearer for you:

Trans people will get their rights but no more than anyone else.

murasaki · 14/08/2026 22:45

It's a bit sad that we have to celebrate people agreeing to follow the law.

But this is where these men and their acolytes have taken us.

So a bit of common sense breaking out is a good thing, more of it please.

Hoardasurass · 14/08/2026 22:47

Hmm my local bank of Scotland branch got a complete refurbishment last year just before pride and none of the permanent rainbow branding was put back up. At the time I thought it was an oversight or that it would be added later but we've had pride month come and go but still no rainbows not even bunting or a single movable progress flag.
Now I known that they did the banking app logo thing for pride but nothing else.

I think that a lot of companies have felt the wind change and are slowly, quietly and very carefully backing away from the trans movement. Its almost as if they are scared of the reaction they will get for no longer centering all things trans above everyone and everything else

I don't believe gay people have ever demanded to use the loos belonging to the opposite sex, so no. Obviously.

Hedgehogforshort · 14/08/2026 22:50
