Started because a thread on Girlguiding was getting too off topic.

Ok. What if they do have a female brain or even genetic effects that haven't been discovered. Or could be due to hormone problems in the womb. They could have a soul that was always female until now

Edited

The concept of souls is metaphysical. They are not observable, so even if they exist (which not everybody agrees on, far from it), there's no telling that trans people are souls of one gender trapped into bodies of another gender. It would be literally impossible to know.

What if they do have a female brain

How could a man have a female brain? Female how? Not materially, since every single one of his cells has male DNA in it. Not in the way it works, since trans women still exhibits very specifically male patterns of behaviour after transitioning. So how would their brains be female?

even genetic effects that haven't been discovered

Don't let the TRAs hear you. An actual way to test for being trans is the last thing they want. Personally, I wouldn't care: either it would show I'm "really" trans, which... would change nothing to my life, or it would show I'm not trans according to that one test, which again wouldn't change anything to my life. Because at the end of the day, even if I have a genetic condition, I still can't change my sex.

Or could be due to hormone problems in the womb.

Or psychological issues? I think that one is by far the most likely, but funnily enough, nobody on the trans side wants to hear about it...

Ooh, Miss, Miss, I know this one! You got to look at their auras, right? Pink and frilly is a girl soul, blue and macho is a boy soul.

What about green?

murasaki · 27/07/2026 15:55

I have the soul of an opera singer. It's outrageous that La Scala doesn't agree.

No its something you can feel in your heart

If someone gets a heart transplant do they get the donors soul or keep their original one

FlyingToniBoxes · 27/07/2026 15:58

Denying biological reality really isn't what feminism has ever been fighting for...

The brain is the most important part of the body. I don't think we should dismiss the concept of a soul as well

That’s fine, but the law is not based on souls. It is based on bodies.

You can’t always control how you feel, but you can absolutely control how you behave.

The behaviour expected of people with male bodies (regardless how whether they have chosen to modify those bodies) is that in certain specified, limited circumstances they have to respect segregation between men and women’s spaces.

This is not complicated.

It might make a small number of men very sad but that is an acceptable price to pay to help maintain women’s dignity, privacy and safety.

Excellent question.

The concept of souls is metaphysical. They are not observable, so even if they exist (which not everybody agrees on, far from it), there's no telling that trans people are souls of one gender trapped into bodies of another gender. It would be literally impossible to know.

Excellent points.

If there are souls -

then they existed somewhere prior to entering the 'wrong body' - so where were they? And where do they go after the body's lifetime is finished?

Who exactly is making the mistakes here inserting the wrong soul into the wrong body? Is there some bungling angel on duty somewhere?

Actually many beliefs in souls returning to human form at intervals for lifetimes discuss that souls don't have a sex, and that the point of a soul having a 'human' incarnation is to learn in the journey of that soul through multiple lives, during which the soul will enter bodies of both sexes for the wide range of experience needed, and usually talks about the soul or higher self having chosen the body and life it goes into.

And this makes transgenderism a religion.

Which is great, we're a multi faith society, but this involves tolerance and not trying to force others into participation in your faith a la the madder moments of Bloody Mary and Cromwell.

No its something you can feel in your heart

A man who felt he was female made a fuss and got a gynaecologist suspended for 2 months because said gynaecologist told him that, as a gynaecologist, he was trained to treat women and was not qualified to treat males. That was 2 months of womens appointments utterly screwed because of what a man felt. This happened in France.

No thank you.

In that case, you should be fully on board with us because those brain scans show that transwomen are comfortably in the male range.

What does this mean? What's a "male range" brain?

Changeisstillpossible · 27/07/2026 16:00

The Brain Sex of transgender women was estimated as 0.75 ± 0.39, thus hovering between cisgender men and cisgender women, albeit closer to cisgender men (see also Figure 1). The follow-up post hoc tests revealed that transgender women were significantly more female than cisgender men (Cohen’s d = 0.64, t(46) = 2.20, p = 0.016), but significantly less female than cisgender women (Cohen’s d = 1.87, t(46) = 6.48, p < 0.001).

And the poor women in Canada dragged through the shit by Yaniv as they weren't trained to wax balls, and said so.

I fucking love it when a thread collapses in a jumble of pineapple pizza soul transplanted nausea auras while the kind girls stand up proudly for men's rights and the mean old ladies say NO.

This is MN at its best.

Laila Moran is back. This really is a very retro thread.

Isn’t it just. I feel like I’ve timewarped back to 5 years ago.

OP I’m sorry but your argument has been comprehensively lost in the UK and there’s no going back.

PolkaDotPorridge · 27/07/2026 16:02

Transwoman = Man. Literally the only thing that qualifies someone to be a Transwoman is that they are a man. Hope that helps.

I think you'd need to have a foot transplant to get the donor's sole!

Amiiee · 27/07/2026 16:02

I'll answer u personally. I am female, and so is my soul. But I have a higher male affected brain than over 50% of women.

Tough shit

Their body is still male so off to the gents they go.

A lot of these people have fathered children for Chrissakes so where was their female soul, or any other part of them, when they were ejaculating into a woman’s vagina?

Iwantanothergo · 27/07/2026 16:03

When you say trans women are women. I have the evidence too, you are - presumably deliberately - completely misrepresenting the findings of the study you linked.

The study found that "The brains of transgender women ranged between cisgender men and cisgender women (albeit still closer to cisgender men), and the differences to both cisgender men and to cisgender women were significant."

Note the words still closer to cisgender men. The men in question may well have been effeminate men, but quite apart from their bodies being male their brains showed they were still closer to being men than to being women.

So what on earth is your justification for seeing that as evidence that they were women? I look forward to your explanation.
