Started because a thread on Girlguiding was getting too off topic.

A man that was AFAB but is transmasc will now have to use the women’s bathroom. Is that a good thing?

The Supreme Court covered this. If a woman identifying as a man is indistinguishable from a man and makes the other women uncomfortable, then she needs to find a gender neutral toilet.

Of course, in sport, rape refuges and prisons, her sex absolutely determines where she goes.

No one cares if someone has surgeries and wants to live in whatever way they wish. Other people have rights too, though, so the person in your example can’t force anyone else to believe they’re the opposite sex to what they actually are nor use services reserved for the opposite sex.

The world never thought men were women. It just largely didn't realise the implications of forcing everyone to act as though men are women (it was a feminist issue, those are boring) and assumed that it just meant being polite to men in dresses. It didn't actually think it would come to knobs out in women's dressing rooms, rapists in women's prisons, women getting their heads broken in boxing rings and all that. Once it was established that it had, it was hard to row back because so many gormless twats had made a personality trait out of saying "trans women are women" and didn't have the strength or decency to row back on it (which, ironically, they would have if they had actually owned the virtue they loved to perform and signal so much).

However, there is only so far a total absurdity that literally nobody actually believes can go, and this colossal waste of time is finally on the way out. I weep to think of what it's cost.

Nobody ever believed it so now all there is left is people like the OP going right back to square one in what is nothing more than a time wasting exercise. If he really believes men should be able to self select into women's spaces, let him campaign for a law that explicitly states it honestly and openly, with full debate and right of reply. The law as it is has been clarified beyond doubt so it's his only hope.

Just out of curiosity, even if the evidence you cited was correct and trans women shared the same neurology as women, what do you feel about women who still prefer to have single sex spaces protected. Do you have empathy for why they’ve came to their conclusion or do you feel like the opinion of some transactivists and transpeople would trump theirs?

I mean the only requirement needed to be a transwoman is that you're a man so no transwoman are not real women, women are real women, trans women are men who try to pass as women and good luck to them but don't encroach on our sex based rights because we are not the same sex.

Sorry, but it has no business being on a pizza. Pineapple should keep out of Pizza spaces. And what is more, even if a pineapple has been wrongly allocated to a pizza but subsequently surgically removed the pizza should acknowledge its true identity and stop pretending to be something it isn’t because no one is fooled.

25 years ago I think that was a common opinion, but since then there have been campaigns for self ID and to replace sex with gender in legislation, the trans umbrella has expanded to include virtually everyone, and the European Court of Human Rights has ruled that status cannot depend on treatment that reduces fertility.

We are where we are now, and there is no way to go back.

You would have to tell huge numbers of people that they aren't trans and put pressure on them to have medical treatment that has an unproved and uncertain outcome. I don't think anyone who has thought about it really thinks that is a good idea.
