@Plimfoot This shit didn't just start two years ago it's been a neglected issue for years .
Farage &co are not the answer though.
They just tell people what they want to hear.

Nobody is dismissing, but it's not relevant.

If we have English rapists, then we have to deal with them and lock them up.

But lets not make a habit of importing a religion where women are second class citizens.

Get it now?

I do not doubt Lowe's integrity.

Donors include Elon Musk and ‘Tommy Robinson’.

Writing a politically charged foreword to what professes to be an independent report immediately calls into question his, and its, integrity. How disgusting to use what these people went through for political gain and to stir up racial tension.

Not much integrity visible here.

I am astounding that on mumsnet there are only 45 posts! Our country is broken - this is a war crime. Please, please wake up to what has being done to our most vulnerable children. Minimising such depravity and pointing fingers at one of the only politicians to take action is quite frankly sickening.

I agree; I think this needs to be moved to General or somewhere as another poster mentioned too.

It is being missed in its current spot I think.

If UK culture and dominant religions didn't treat women as second class citizens, we wouldn't have UK born and bred rapists.

Especially in Islam.

Have you not noticed the complete steamrollering of women’s reproductive rights in the US, carried out by rich white men and in the name of Christianity? The subjugation of women’s rights by all types of extremists needs to be tackled as a whole.

Northermcharn · 17/06/2026 09:56

PollyNomial · 17/06/2026 09:48

White men see white girls as fair game.

And how do Muslim men view Muslim girls? Not fair game because they're wearing black clothes that cover any skin / hair which would encourage them to be raped by helpless men?

I’m not reading anything that Lowe is associated with. The last thing his mob of supporters care about is women’s rights. It’s just a vehicle for racism.

Crikey.

A report on the systematic abuse of thousands of girls and the inability to do anything about it because of the fear of being called 'racist' is not worth bothering about.

You realise that is the very reason nobody did anything? So you are just playing the exact same game? Nice.

This.

I truly struggle with this viewpoint. Is it so hard to be able to read the stories of victims, think about them, and separate them from the opinions and angles of the report’s author(s)? This skill is taught in school, or at least was at mine!

A testimony is a testimony. It is not hard to take the facts stated and come to your own conclusions. Unless you are implying the actual stories of the victims are lies? I suppose that’s what happened to these girls for decades, so it seems feasible you may do the same.

I am extremely well educated thank you and can separate out the stories. I have no wish to. There are enough things about that report to annoy me without getting repulsed by just the intro.

I can think about the victims without reading the report at all. I have no doubt about the veracity of their testimony. I feel they have been done a great disservice by the introduction, which should have focused on them first and foremost. They deserve better.

I imagine Lowe cares about these girls and what they went through as least as much, if not more, than many right thinking progressive types. And I mean that.

'Stories'

These aren't stories. They are testimonies of child rape and torture victims and impact statements.

Sorry, was that supposed to be a contribution to the debate? I think you might have missed a bit off your post if so.

Shedmistress · 17/06/2026 10:03

The wrong people donated to make it happen
The wrong people held the inquiry
The wrong people wrote up the testimonies

But instead of saying 'where were the right people, the ones I agree with, to do all this' all we get is 'I'm not reading it'.

Brilliant. Well done you. Pat yourselves on the back. Virtue Signal Performed.

It's a shame that the rape of women and girls is only worthy of your attention if the right person talks about it in exactly the right way.
