What is in the water this week?! Glinner now making a mockery of the cause

I know I know I should just get off twitter but this week is just back to back GC news and not in a good way.

If you haven't seen, Glinner posted a video mocking Green Leader Zack Polanski, understandable plenty of material for a comedy writer there, but the video is so unhinged and unfunny.

Some speculating Graham was drunk when he made it but it's been 24 hours and he's left it up so maybe not.

I feel like we are finally gaining real ground in this fight and this makes GCs look like a bunch of lunatics.

I know there is no formal hierarchy but like it or not, for better and worse, we do have public faces and 'spokespeople' for this fight and this is just embarrassing.

I just feel so helpless because there can't be any accountability for this kind of thing but my God.

He has been equally unhinged and unpleasant to any number of women

Much as I emphasise with all he has lost I have no time for him any more.

I know he gets very reactive when his feelings are hurt but this is another level. Does someone need to check on him?

I never considered Linehan to be any kind of spokesman for gender-critical feminism, so anything he says or does is on him, not me.

I watched his interview on Triggernometry a few months ago and it seems he's now pro Trump and thinks that the US is the greatest place on Earth. It was a very strange watch

I do worry about him and have done for a while.
However I don’t think that video is that awful, it’s not that funny but he’s just taking the piss isn’t he?

People love Glinner here. They worship him. But he is unhinged. Has been for ages.

How can you generalise so much?

I wouldn't say he's "unhinged" or "making a mockery of the cause" but it does seem as if he's got some mental health problems. But I'm sympathetic, because he's been under a lot of stress for years, he's unable to work as a writer or actor, he has highly vocal enemies--some people can withstand that, but I doubt if I could. If there's anyone he trusts, they ought to be telling him to stay out of public life, don't talk to the press, find uncontroversial things to do and restore some calm in his life. He's done what he can for the cause, and things are going much better now than they were when he first got involved. He can quite reasonably say he tried to help for as long as it was useful, and the time has come to quit.

Glinner was someone who stuck his head above the parapet for truth at a time no one else seemed to. It cost him a lot.

He is also someone who goes on social media when he’s been drinking.

He is also someone who now thinks Trump has good qualities.

Being the kind of person who will say what they think, be stubborn, loud and dogged about it, is all part of the same package.

He’s a bloke who’s been good about some things and crap about others.

I mean, he’s laughing about a man who said he can hypnotise people’s breasts to grow bigger. I think that’s worthy of mockery myself.

Maybe he’s hypnotising transwomen and saving them the price of surgery? Maybe they think their breasts are bigger?

What is it with the gender critical to far right pipeline? It's what made me stop engaging with a lot of the gender critical community. I agree with a lot of what they have to say ragarding sex and gender. However, seeing how many went off the deep end and started spouting racist and far right views too made me walk away. It makes me question who's funding the fight and what are their real motivations. Probably not protecting the rights of women and girls.

What “narrative” would that be? Because I can assure you that most people are still fully aware that men aren’t women and that a person’s sex is occasionally relevant.

The narrative that you said- that you can’t change sex and that men aren’t women. Thankfully it’s not mostly Gc feminists who are saying this. So now everyone else is saying it the Gc feminists don’t own the narrative. They made a complete pigs ear of it when they did.

What is it about gc feminists who refuse to see that these issues are connected? Do they honestly think that Glinner, who is in his 50s and has been left wing all his life has suddenly “gone far right “? Could it be that the tribal Gc feminists have missed something AGAIN?

So how is it a narrative? A narrative implies it is something someone is trying to convince other people of. Like when TRA say transpeople are the most vulnerable and oppressed people ever.

No, I believe in biology and I'm not far right. My point is people who were posting things regarding GC that I agreed with were also posting far right tosh and racist posts and it caused me to disengage with the movement. I think that the far right have latched on to this issue, and are poisoning the GC arena.

A narrative is a spoken or written account of connected events. Using the term “narrative” doesn’t mean i don’t believe it. More of the terrible Gc feminist traits is anxiety, suspicion and paranoia
