Younger generations being pro trans

PeachyDaisy · 10/04/2026 05:22

I know many are saying the trans debate is over, but I think it has only just begun. And the reason is the younger generation. Studies show young people are the most supportive of transwomen going into women's spaces amongst all groups. In 20 years, these people will be in positions of power making decisions where they can enact their beliefs.

Also most of the western world has fallen to trans ideology (which activists will use as credibility for their ideology). I don't buy the argument that as long as it is just in EU/Australia/CA/ NZ then it is contained.

Having the laws on our side and sex matters fighting is great, but it feels like little consolation if we have to spend the next 50 years constantly in a court room suing organisations as they continue to to flaunt the law. It is like wack a mole, you stop one stop one organisation from doing it whilst another one pops up.

'anti-trans' is a way for far right incels to say we're 'anti men'. They know they cannot say anti men, without looking like neanderthals. So they have found a loophole. 'anti-trans'. They can be misogynist chauvinist pigs with a veneer of respectability.

The sad thing for men like him is that he and his fellow MRAs are out of touch with the real world. Poll after poll after poll shows that as each year passes, the 'trans rights' (read: Mens rights) lose more and more favour with the public the more his fellow men piss in public on feminist statues and smash windows and throw punches at the eye sockets of 72 year old women. They are losing the war and are becoming increasingly desperate and erratic. Feminists are winning the day, and those like him have to resort to..... relieving themselves to Andrew Tate videos. And trying to relive their glory days.

Edited

How can they be far right when transphobia is ideology from the far right? The entire anti trans movement is funded by far right groups and money.

Yeah, but HP still remains by far one of the most popular fandoms, including with young people. For all their cries of JKR being evil, those young people still consume every new bit of HP that comes out as soon as it appears. When it comes to putting their actions where their mouth is, a whole lot of young people are just nowhere to be found anymore.

Any source for that as last time a poll was done it was Millenials in their late thirties and early forties who still consume the media from the former author. However the younger generations call it cringey, bigoted etc. So I would love to see a source backing your claims that “young people love it”

I’d like to see the source that the “younger generations call it cringey, bigoted etc” which is a fairly sweeping statement @MashaPav

Wasn’t Hogwarts Legacy a bestseller in gaming?

LOL. Source: my experience in fandom.

And what poll are you referring to, exactly?

Yup. And that was despite calls to boycott it.

Firstly bullshit, but secondly TRAs are basically the same as Incels (Trancels).

They hate women, refuse to listen to them, don't respect their boundaries, don't care about their consent.

Whether that's far right or far left, it's kind of all the same. Horseshoe theory in action.

Knocked CoD off the no1 spot when it came out and is the 19th best selling game of all time. Even my sometimes trans Identifying daughter bought it, loved it and insisted her dad and I come and play it - or at least watch her playing it! [Yawn, just what is that all about?]

But yeah, ‘cringey’. Not.

The 14 year olds round here all adore HP. Do you actually know any young people Mashy? Trans is old hat and an attention seeking cringe, apparently.

Edited for clarity

go into any fandom popular with young people and everyone has pronouns in their bio and this stuff is treated like the normal thing, and everyone accepts JKR is the "evil" one. it's depressing.

As an older Gen Z, I think fandom culture is maybe more likely to involve higher numbers of very online people- and therefore possibly more likely to be more pro trans than average.

I do wonder why the Labour party has refused to ban social media for children...at a time when an increasing number of countries are now doing exactly that. To my mind the whole trans phenommenon( for children) has been spread and propagated by social media......I suspect many MPs are as addicted to social media and the 'politics' found within it as young people are to TikTok and You Tube..hence their reluctance to ban it.

To be fair quite a few Reform members and Tories seem to oppose a ban too on the grounds that it's a decision for parents not the government.

Former author”?

🤣

I’d love to be a former author with 20million book sales worldwide in my new adult crime series. Admittedly not as many as the 600m book sales (and still selling) children’s series, but more than award winning, much serialised Val McDermid.

People have been saying this for years about leftism. "Look at how left wing and radical young people are - surely by the time they are 40 and running things, we will be living in an egalitarian socialist dream and Tories will no longer exist." Those long haired, liberal 60s kids are now the Brexit / Reform generation.

It's a stage thing, not a generational thing. Prison abolition and gender fluidity look wonderful when you haven't had much experience of life. When you've met your 20th dodgy weirdo in a woman's toilet and had your phone snatched for the 10th time, it tends to pall.

'Those long haired, liberal 60s kids are now the Brexit / Reform generation.'

  • to be fair, the 60s and 70s did bring reforms to race, sex equality and gay rights which have mostly stuck. But I agree that economically things shifted.

Yes, I think that’s probably true.

PriOn1 · 03/08/2026 16:17

To go back to the original question, I think there’s a possible wild card situation which may unfold.

My daughter’s (extended) friendship group, as a young lesbian, includes some very vulnerable FtM lesbians, who have been convinced that being a straight male is better. At the moment, they remain in young lesbian circles, where they have a strong influence over their friends. They are genuinely vulnerable and I suspect they invoke protective instincts.

At some point, if and when they start to realise they were never men, but were sold a damaging lie, which has negative health impacts, then the whole group may start to wake up and realise that they are not “men finding their true selves” but women who have been cheated.

I can see why the young lesbians would not want to believe what I believe, which is that their friends have been mutilated in an unevidenced experiment that should never have been allowed to happen and is causing great harm to both the patient and society.

PeachyDaisy · 10/04/2026 07:19

Some percentage will grow out of it, but I still a sizeable percentage won't. And that's the problem. That percentage may increase. Especially when the whole western world (apart from maybe the UK and US) are pretty much fully pro-trans now.

The 'whole western world'?

Is the whole of Europe like this? Even more socially conservative countries like Italy, Poland etc?

I hadn't been keeping up much with the debate in Europe but had assumed things were getting less extreme over there, and that they'd taken notice of the evidence of harm via puberty blockers and AGP.

Is that not true, then?

PeachyDaisy identifies a GC feminist but usually posts about how one gender critical win or another is ultimately doomed. This time it's demographics, other reasons for despair have included that the women's rights enshrined in the EA are all just too hard to provide in practice.

PD is very prone to despairing and giving up and letting TW have what they want. It is odd for such a self described GC poster, for sure.

AimsAndObjectives · 03/08/2026 16:26

Yes, I mentally file PD's posts under 'not GC'.

The word 'whole' might be too much of a generalization. It is more appropriate to say, most of the western world allow men in women's spaces. England are really leaders in fighting this movement

Where have I ever said we should give up or let TW into women's spaces? Putting words in someone's mouth is just plain rude (and uncalled for)

My attitude is that much of the western world has fallen to this ideology and its going to take decades to rollback (in my home country of Australia, I'm not sure it will be in my lifetime). Call it pessimism if you like, to me it is just realism. We have a long, long, long way to go before we eradicate this ideology.
