Transgender hate on mum's net

1000 replies

Steph2002 · 08/04/2026 13:30

I'm just wondering, I see so much hate on here about transgender woman and not a lot about transgender men. Does everyone on mum's net hate Transgender women and if so why? I don't mind sharing a toilet space with a transgender woman in fact my best friend is a transgender woman and she is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet and will protect any woman no matter where they are. I would hate to be sharing a toilet with a hairy masculine transgender man, which seems the way people want to go why? Am I the only person on here that supports trans gender women, if so I need to leave. How many people that hate Transgender women have actually met one and had issues with one I'd love to know.

A true Transgender women won't be hairy or masculine. I totally agree that men in dresses should be banned but they aren't transgender.

You sound quite transphobic–who do you think you are to question whether a trans woman is “a true trans woman”? And misogynistic–I’ve got hairy legs!

There’s so much wrong with this I don’t even know where to start.

Yep. And unironically using the word misinformation to boot.

Steph2002 · 08/04/2026 15:55

Thank you I totally agree the only issues I've encountered are from cis men

Still men, which men who pretend they are women are too.

And all the women who've been assaulted by transwomen, of which there are a significant number? They don't matter because it hasn't happened to you?

Meadowfinch · 08/04/2026 15:56

I do not have any views, positive or negative about anyone transgender. They are individuals and how they organise their lives is their concern. I certainly don't hate anyone.

However, women have fought for sex-specific rights and safe spaces for hundreds of years, and I will not see those rights and protections jeopardised because a tiny (0.01%) percentage of men want to take them away from us.

Those are two completely different issues.

canisquaeso · 08/04/2026 15:53

I don’t hate anyone, but unfortunately mere self ID’ing doesn’t work, so there have to be boundaries.

Someone like Kim Petras or Laverne Cox are very different from Isla Bryson or Lia Thomas. There’s also the issue of being pre-op in women’s spaces. I do not want to share a changing room, a sauna, etc, with a man. If everyone was fine with that, the logical solution would be for every place to be unisex.

Why are kim and laverne different to the others? genuine question.

Misnofitness · 08/04/2026 15:57

Steph2002 · 08/04/2026 15:46

You see this is precisely the problem as a man on oestrogen and T blockers can't be a sexual predator as they have no sex drive, this is the sort of misinformation that's causing the trouble.

What about the Darlington nurses case? The trans woman in question was not on on any hormones as they were in a hetero sexual relationship trying to have a baby

Thank you for your reply I'm glad it's not just me there is just so much hate on the internet it's unbelievable

Tbf though you’ve been more transphobic than the usual suspects here becuase you’ve defined trans by sexist peadophillic beauty standards. Others have pointed out the problem with this but you are still doing it and saying they’re hateful. But I don’t think anyone’s been hateful. They have very strong opinions which will offend people and you could argue anything that excludes others is discrimination on principle but I don’t think anyone would seriously go down that road.

murasaki · 08/04/2026 15:57

Go on @Steph2002 , what makes someone a woman.

Forresty · 08/04/2026 15:57

Honestly, has Mumsnet introduced monetisation? Because this thread, and the OP, is clearly here for the clicks 😆

They are women so yes. 'Beefy' or not.

How do you establish this? Security guards checking our vaginas when we enter?

LiftAndCoast · 08/04/2026 15:59

I've seen it said a few times in this thread and I do wonder about the worldview of the 'right side of history' posters. Do they think that all of history is split into goodies and baddies, and the goodies always win?

I guess they're not known to be rapists or cheaters at sports. Otherwise absolutely nothing.

Not genital inspections again. How about they respect the law? We've had single-sex spaces for a long time and no one has gone around checking genitals at the door, have they?

Nope, and trans women have been using womens bathrooms for ages and it hasn’t been a problem, has it

I wondered whether it was because - at least in film and pics - they are more 'beautiful' and pass better?? But yeh could be that too.

Either way - totally irrelevant. All still men.

That’s a real shame for the poor women with PCOS and the menopausal ones with hairy chins. And the ones who don’t want to confirm to gender norms by shaving their legs and armpits. Maybe they’re not womanly enough to use the ladies’ either 🤣

I would hate to go back to the days when people felt it was perfectly ok to say out loud in public that they don't want masculine hairy women in the ladies..... oh wait.....what was op just saying?

That's probably because you're not a woman being threatened with being fucked by a splintery rolling pin. That's the sort of thing women have to put up with from men.

chattyness · 08/04/2026 16:03

It's not hate we just don't want them in single sex spaces created for women.
They don't want to be in men's spaces and we don't want men in ours it's that simple.
If you want to be trans adult fine, live your life and be happy but you have to accept that women have rights and deserve privacy and respect. No means no.
I would be more friendly towards them if trans identifying men campaigned for their own safe spaces, services and facilities & stopped trying to indoctrinate children.
But that's not their game, they want to bully & dominate us in our space and that is not on. I will never call them women it will always be trans identifying men, because to that is what they are. The truth isn't hateful, it's simply the truth.

I don't mind sharing a toilet space with my male partner. I don't expect other women to though. HTH

People have been able to tell the sex of someone since the beginning of time without looking at their genitals first. Kids can do it.

Even gender non conforming people and doubt, if
any is presented, is usually removed the minute you are up close and personal/hear them speak.

My toes curl any time someone mentions genital inspections as to whether we can tell if someone is male or female or not.

Yes thats really not true though. In the real world, transwomen stick out like a sore thumb. Even the ultra femme ones, usually in seconds you can tell because of the way they hold themselves, talk, body language etc.

In the past, if a transwoman went in a loo people would kick him out or sideeye. It wasn't widespread and on the rare occasions it happened we all knew. Stop making out like these special butterfly men have been around us for ages and we are all oblivious. Come on...
