It comes from the same playbook as the one that thinks that if you want single sex spaces you support Trump. It's entirely possible to hold a view without agreeing with every single thing a person who also espouses that view has ever said.

I know I should be better at engaging with people who are new to this but you do run out of energy. In my experience, USA conservative couples, for whatever reason seem particularly prone to this phenomenon.

What do you mean by “felt different”? We all “feel different”, because we are all different! Honestly, trans ideology is regressive bullshit and without gender stereotypes it wouldn’t exist.

Nah. She deserves to be punished for delighting in the separation of children (Liam, eg) from their families. For delighting in rounding up Native Americans because they have brown skin. For calling US protesters Domestic Terrorists. For shooting her puppy (RIP Cricket) who she couldn’t be bothered to train. She’s a shit stain on the Constitution and I have zero sympathy for her. Racists may have “independent views that are different to mine,” true—but I will not respect this.

So is it just some of us that deserve what we get? How far to the right do women have to go to deserve their fate? Is it just this form of domestic abuse that we deserve or would we deserve other types?

As I said, Kirsty Noem is an absolute shitstain on the Constitution. She deserves every ounce of karma that she gets, whether she’s male or female. Perhaps Google what she’s been up to for the past 14 months (and more).

Someone who tramples on the civil rights of citizens gets no sympathy in my book. She belongs in the Hague. Not sure what human rights of hers are under threat.

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. “Women” don’t need to be “punished.” Men aren’t “entitled” to act this way. Neither are true.

What IS true is that Kirsty Noem trampled on the civil rights of thousands of US citizens, took delight in it, and deserves her karma. Regardless of whether she’s a male or female. I have no sympathy that the shitstain on the Constitution married a piece of shit man. Quelle surprise. Just like I would have zero sympathy for any other piece of shit human being (male or female) who found themselves in the same situation—Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, Gislane Maxwell, Andrew Mountbatten, etc. Poor excuses of human beings get zero sympathy from me when bad things happen in their lives.

Putting aside “shit stain on the constitution” being really odd terminology, who or what she is is irrelevant. You are suggesting that some women deserve to be abused by their husbands due to their politics/ behaviour. Not only that, but it is “karma”. So the universe is using abuse to righteously punish them for their views.

Where is your line on this? Do eg women who vote conservative deserve abuse? Is it a husbands duty to punish us if we have different politics to you?

“Shitstain on the Constitution” means just that—Noem has violated the First Amendment, Second Amendment, Fifth Amendment, and Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

I didn’t feel one ounce of sympathy when Jeffrey Epstein died. And I own that. Nor would I ever feel any sympathy for Gislane, Donald, Kirsty, or Andrew.

I'm of the opinion that watching people, who describe themselves as aligned with the self-styled empathetic and virtuous side of the political divide, taking pleasure in the spousal abuse and humiliation of a woman, whose politics they disagree with, are probably storing up negative karma for themselves in the future.

The entire point of universal human rights is that even people we can't stand are allowed to have them. The entire point of feminism is that even women we can't stand are allowed to benefit from rights & protections won for women.

I'm not trying to be pious when I say this, I struggle with the idea of human rights, feminism, and equality under the law benefitting some awful human beings who feel no obligation towards bettering society or towards their fellow humans. But the way I see it, the alternatives to this way of thinking are too grim to contemplate and we see them played out in countries all around the world where these concepts have no political standing and human life has very little value, especially if that human life is female.
