Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

A UK forum is encouraging a desperate parent of a trans identified male to seek out DIY hormones, without consulting health care professionals, how is this dangerous advice legal?

OP "If anyone could help me to understand, I would be extremely grateful. I just want my daughter to be alive and happy in her own skin as much as possible ."

Responses: "diy is reliable and safe, there are communities that will be able to help, and really all it is getting a blood test every now and then to check how low or high a couple numbers are and adjusting accordingly."

Full details here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1rw0bac/please_help_parent_to_a_16_year_old/

How is this even slightly legal? The pro anorexia sites were shut down right? The pro suicide?

You don't think that men should be allowed into women's spaces?

So you are happy with some 'DNA' being excluded from women's spaces, you just want the line drawn in a different place so that it doesn't involve you being excluded?

I don't believe men should be allowed into women's spaces. Trans women are not men. So let's stop there.

The chromosomes venerated by sex realists weren't even discovered until 1905. How did society survive?!

Also the mind blowing arse wankery of ATranssexualWoman coming on here performing pretend outrage because we claim he's part of the oppressor class, whilst simultaneously asserting he's going to use women's spaces whenever he wants to and no one can stop him.

And not only that, he claims no one at work knows he's a man, thereby confirming that he's more than happy to deceive women in their own toilets and changing rooms, so they are unaware that they are in the presence of a man.

But he's not oppressing anyone!!

They just don't/won't see it. It's something only other men do. Not them. They're different.

The hyperbole, hypocrisy and fuckwittery has been flowing strongly on this thread from male posters who demand to be treated as if they are female.

OK, you don't believe men should be allowed into women's spaces, so you want to define what a woman is so that doesn't exclude you.

The poster upthread reckons that only includes men who have had surgery. Is that a reasonable way to define what a woman is?

I haven’t caught up yet as I have been at work but that video I keep posting of Alexandra Billings is very fitting for this thread.

I don't think I've come across a single transactivist, who doesn't think that they and only they have the required criteria. Whether it's longevity, surgery, passing, or a piece of paper.

it's whatever suits their particular circumstances. And all those other frauds can take a leap 😄

It's always just them.

I bet you're just frothing as you wait to live in a world where relationships, access to spaces and opportunity are based on what is in everyone's DNA? Or are you content to stop at just this one bit of DNA?

I'm glad I don't live in such a world.

Gender delulu being hyperbolic seems to be by design

Really it's quite comical. I can't see them, I don't know their names, I have no clue what they look like, but their sex couldn't be clearer.

It does make me laugh when they say no one in real life knows. If I know and I haven't even seen you...

There's rarely been any definition of personhood in cultures that is universally supported. Society is messy, but people are happier when they live in countries that embrace diversity.

I have no idea what was written upthread as I have 500 messages yet to read from yesterday and today.

Due to the rigidity of thought here, I've already pledged to say all trans women are women in response because there is no such thing as middle ground, so I guess I disagree?

Society survived as it did for millennia before that discovery. It survived through highly reliable sex recognition based on sexed body cues.

Gender delulus tend to have very high opinions of themselves.

Yep.

The dissonance of denying that male people accessing female single sex provisions are oppressing female people must be clanging so loudly they cannot think.

Of course, it may as well be in flashing lights on a huge billboard it is so clearly the very oppression that they deny. The indoctrination that has come from these support groups and other male people who gaslight female people runs very deep.

I was confused because I've been reading that it is large gametes matter. Now sexed body cues are just as useful and I'd say arguably more practically understood by people.

Anyone who says they're a trans woman, ofc.

Heggettypeg · 20/03/2026 00:00

Unlike western trans activism which claims that gender identification gives an entry to the rights of the opposite sex, some societies elsewhere seem to have gone down the route of a third (and sometimes a fourth) gender for people who present and identify atypically for their sex.

That is a more honest approach. The absurd insistence here that trans identifying men actually "are" or can "become" women, and the entitled attitude towards women's sex-based spaces that flows from that, has caused unnecessary problems.

All people, men and women, on HRT receive monitoring. It is not bullshit, it is healthcare.

Do they really?

I take my own blood pressure and I get an annual review with the practice nurse.

That’s all I get. I’ve never had a blood test.

Fuck, I missed an opportunity there.

Those cultures were also developed from other interpersonal assumptions, belief systems and gender attributions that are outside of western moralisation. Many 'third gender' people have westernised identities these days.

It does. And they resist enlightenment every turn. To the surprise of no woman ever.

Frankly I don't really give a fuck. I'm just happy to have them show themselves up so other people can see it.

it's quite clear that, certainly for some people, like onepost for instance, his entire purpose is to wind women up.

The more people who see exactly what sort of men are desperate to violate women's boundaries, the better.

So you want to exclude men from women’s spaces however all they have to do is say they are a woman and they are therefore a trans woman and should be granted immediate access?

That’s your only requirement for a man to gain access?
