On Saturday 11th April, at 1pm there will be One Year Later protests in six different locations:

London - Parliament Square
Edinburgh - Scottish Parliament
Cardiff - Central Square
Manchester - St Peter's Square
Plymouth - Hoe Park, Smeaton's Tower
Houghton Le Spring - Brigete Philipson's Office, Newbottle Street

The protests follow on from the 199 Days Later protests in November 2025 and the different locations will be a mix of speeches, protests and street terfing (London is a march and speeches). It's been almost a year since the Supreme Court Ruling, if you can, please attend a protest and let the government know that their inaction is unacceptable, unlawful and puts women and girls at risk.

Further info will be available on X @acts_grassroots

You might not even have to sing it, thinking it may be enough

That would definitely save time.

The comments under that photo are priceless😂
I'm so glad to hear that the day went well - in London anyway, hope to hear more good reports and maybe more photos from the other demos!

"I'm not keen on the new Hagrid, I must say" is probably my favourite. 😀

How to convince women that it is safe to have delusional males in their private spaces, I know, images of executing them, that should be reassuring, erm....
Nope, still not convinced.

In Cardiff there was this styish chap
https://nitter.net/helenstaniland/status/2042942911398994128#m.

A rather disturbing comment on the photo of the Hagrid in a grey dress.

The woman in red beside the brick is Dr Sophie Quinney, head of Welsh Adult GIDS - we question her professionalism turning up on the counter protest demo. Wouldnt someone in her position need to show impartiality?

Tbh I'm not sure you're womanning right. Where's the multi-tasking and juggling? You could have done a little genociding while putting the cat out.

I made sure to get my genociding done last weekend - although that was my 6 month change of the moth traps - does that count?

Well done. And a good reminder for here, thank you.

However, you may have misunderstood the genociding brief. Am reminded of the old joke where a lad unwittingly buys his friend an embarrassing book for his birthday, because it was called The Complete Book for Young Mothers.

EmpressaurusKitty · 12/04/2026 10:25

I’m sure the Young Moth-ers joke was in one of the Jennings books but I can’t remember which.

I got my genociding done in the gym this morning. Breathe in… Transwomen. Breathe out… Are men.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 12/04/2026 10:26

THANK YOU so much to every woman who went out and sang and spoke and formed part of that crowd, from those of us who would dearly have loved to have been there, but were not able.

Mmmnotsure · 12/04/2026 10:30

A comment on X about the flags being flown yesterday - that they were all trans and no rainbow flags this time. Interesting if so.

In the Cardiff pictures there appear to be only trans, and trade union, flags in the group that were shouting down women who were talking about their rights. Was that the case at all the venues??

That's a concern. Surely she should be stepping down then? Like the doctor who had to step down because he "liked" a sex realist comment on social media. These things have to work both ways. Medical professionals really, really need to remain impartial. She obviously didn't get the memo.

I saw that comment as well.

Apparently fine for Dr Quincey to both lead GIDS and to protest against a group of women calling for the law to be applied but not okay for Prof George to make a few tweets supporting scientific facts and to lead the Streeting trial as head of MHRA.

PrettyDamnCosmic · 12/04/2026 11:11

Like the vile Helen Webberley it seems that Dr Sophie Quinney is only qualified as a GP. As far as I can see she doesn't have any specialised qualifications or knowledge of gender medicine. She also has a patchy employment record as there are quite a few years when she wasn't on the medical register so presumably not practising as a doctor.

It looks like Dr Sophie Quinney (she/her), Clinical Director and Gender Clinician at the Welsh Gender Service, NHS Wales, has done rather more than like a comment on SM.
https://whatisawoman.uk/TheGenderService/

One surprising comment on the website:

The Service works alongside Umbrella Cymru, a charity who describe themselves as 'Gender and Sexual Diversity Specialists' and whose registered address, surprisingly, is Blackwood Police Station.

Thanks to all of you as @OpheliaWitchoftheWoods says!

How was the Manchester one? I spent yesterday feeling bitter and resentful that I couldn’t go and show support. My own brain is trying to murder me so at least I’m genociding extremely succcessfully, compared to you bunch of amateurs and your thought crime Smile

Manchester was great!

Huge turn out compared with the 13 oddballs and their shitty banners who were kept well away from us.

I was handing out flyers and had some great responses from people I gave them too.

The police were great and were trying not to roll their eyes at the TRAs. Chatting to a few who kept saying they had to be impartial but understood completely that they wouldn’t want blokes in their mum’s/sisters/daughter’s toilets etc.

A couple of lads in their 20s asked me what it was about so I explained. They were gobsmacked (as many people were) at the irrationality and downright weirdness of the TRA argument. One said he’d ‘twat any man if he saw one going in the women’s toilets with his sister’.

They also had approached the TRAs beforehand and politely asked them what they were protesting about only to be told to fuck off and google it’.
We were so much more polite and informative 😂

We all went for a few pints afterwards and had a fundraiser raffle where I channeled my inner Vegas high roller (spent £20) and I was delighted to win a lovely crocheted blanket.

Hope you feel better soon and can come to more local events @MancFemI’ll send you a private message if you like?

Oh my! Says it all really

EmpressDomesticatednottamed · 12/04/2026 13:13

Via nitter, Lily Maynard is reporting batshit chant number lots and lots:

"Trans people deserve to work in a bra shop in Marks and Spencer"

I have no comment, Lily comments it seems oddly specific 😳

I liked that one too! But so many to choose from.

I guess somebody somewhere is tut-tutting about mocking people because of their appearance, but it would take the patience of a saint not to comment on that outfit😇

Besides, I think there's a difference between commenting on someone's physical appearance, and their wardrobe choices, as in this case😬

Talkinpeace · 12/04/2026 13:23

Women smile and sing and make friends.

TRAs wear masks, make threats and hang around with topless kidnappers

Thank you! “Twat any man” sounds just so Mancunian A PM would be great thank you, I won’t be able to see it until I can use the site not the app though (wish MNHQ would sort that!)

How fab about your crocheted blanket too. I’ve been eyeing some up on Etsy for hospital stays, I wish I could crochet and I could do one in suffragette colours!

At 5ft 11 and a size 14-16 I have a lot of understanding that it can be difficult to dress well at that size but I really don't think he's in a position to judge other people's stylishness.
