On Saturday 11th April, at 1pm there will be One Year Later protests in six different locations:

London - Parliament Square
Edinburgh - Scottish Parliament
Cardiff - Central Square
Manchester - St Peter's Square
Plymouth - Hoe Park, Smeaton's Tower
Houghton Le Spring - Brigete Philipson's Office, Newbottle Street

The protests follow on from the 199 Days Later protests in November 2025 and the different locations will be a mix of speeches, protests and street terfing (London is a march and speeches). It's been almost a year since the Supreme Court Ruling, if you can, please attend a protest and let the government know that their inaction is unacceptable, unlawful and puts women and girls at risk.

Further info will be available on X @acts_grassroots

SidewaysOtter · 10/04/2026 21:49

Mine too!

MuchAppreciatedThanks · 10/04/2026 22:50

Mine and a dozen mates too!

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/04/2026 23:07

Thank you to @Whatthechicken & all the organisers!

JumpingPumpkin · 11/04/2026 00:37

Heading up to Manchester tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Whatthechicken · 11/04/2026 05:41

I hope you all have a wonderful time, whichever location you are at! Our European sisters are fantastic too, and they really do admire our campaigns and actions we do here. We hope we have now broadened our networks further to assist each other. We have had some brilliant women in this country that have shifted the Overton window, but in Germany they now have self ID and they really do have to be careful with what they do...we can never, ever, let the progress we've made slip.

Sandwiches and flask made. Coffee being drunk. One of my motivations for attending events like this is knowing that we represent many thousands of women who, for age old reasons, can't.

Thank you once again to the organisers. Resilience and resistance.

KnottyAuty · 11/04/2026 08:29

Looking forward to London today - thanks so much to the organisers. And Bon Courage to the German contingent - how terrifying to have their rights set to zero by their government to accommodate this gender ideology

pic from another thread for inspiration - and Tony Benn’s apposite quote:

there is no final victory, as there is no final defeat. There is just the same battle, to be fought over and over again. So toughen up, bloody toughen up.

Have a great day everyone going. I shall be with you in spirit.

I have a date for my knee replacement now so hopefully will be able to attend subsequent events! (Though the other one needs replacing as well.)

SexRealistic · 11/04/2026 09:11

There’s a protest in Belfast at 1pm.

Helleofabore · 11/04/2026 09:11

So many of us!!! All in one space!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/04/2026 09:51

I know several people going, am abroad but with you in spirit and will be following online ❤️

MancFem · 11/04/2026 10:58

I can’t go to the Manc one now (epileptic seizure). Gutted. Had my AHF T-shirt all ready.

Hope everyone going has a brilliant time, can’t wait to hear what it was like!

EmpressaurusKitty · 11/04/2026 12:01

London women be careful near the QEII centre, that’s where the TRAs are gathering.

JumpingPumpkin · 11/04/2026 12:11

There's a small contingent outside the library in Manchester.

On the
train home now, great to meet @JumpingPumpkin and @GloomyWednesday. All good, apart from less than ideal weather.

bonfireoftheverities · 11/04/2026 19:53

I was there today. The good: a selfie with Maya.

London was excellent, the police were great and the TRAs were largely kept away from us. There was a small bunch when we gathered at the Fawcett statue but they weren't allowed to follow us. Then there were more at the end of the march but the sound system was good so they were kind of just a vague drone/drumming noise in the background.

A great day with excellent speeches.

Given the excellent speeches, the very entertaining dinosaur sketch and the rousing singalong at the end with Julia Long & Mr Menno, the noise the TRAs were making really did fade into the background.

As we were leaving we commented to the police “I bet you’re glad you were over this side” and they replied, “Yes, we were just saying the same thing”.

When Julia was doing her cockney medley, some of the police were definitely struggling not to laugh.
