Dr Upton is off to Australia it seems, after creating a toxic situation for women in NHS Fife, wonder if Dr Upton is going to be working in “ Gender Services “ down under ?

@Needmoresleep They have chlamydia. Dirty little bastards. There’s a koala chlamydia vaccine undergoing trials in some areas. Seems to be pretty successful. Despite what we tell tourists to scare them and amuse ourselves, humans can’t catch chlamydia from koalas. Two different strains. Like most invasive or shitty things that fuck with the native flora and fauna, koalas probably got infected from British cows and sheep that were brought here.

It’s so similar to the Stonewall infiltration of the NHS, public bodies and large companies it’s uncanny. They even have a similar scheme to the now discredited Stonewall Diversity Championship Scheme. At least doctors are fighting back against their representative body being so captured.

@Cailin66 Yes. Sadly, we have no Mumsnet Australia and, also sadly, Pauline is no Mary Whitehouse. We need both.

Add to that NSW has recently strengthened its laws about hate speech and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people. Can’t remember where I read it but they passed new laws within the past few months. Premier Chris Minns seems determined to keep NSW people tightly under control and unable to say anything or hold protests. I’m not convinced that he’s actually Labor. Seems more like LNP.

So much for Dr Upton quietly moving to Australia. Bet he didn’t think he’d get this sort of publicity here.

Many British young doctors currently struggle to get a training place in the UK. Those who do get a place will have been a lot more than just their job. Dr Upton had a lot of sick leave so was never going to be a competitive candidate for any job here. If he ever wants to return he'll need to concentrate on his job rather than how to can make up stories about his colleagues and work on his own health. I hope his parents and whoever was his mentor before he left will finally have made that crystal clear to him.

TBF the NHS is to blame for not having a decent, legal policy for single sex changing rooms.

Australia is going to be a big culture shock. It's multicultural but it's also a loonnng way from Scotland and in my experience the expats - like anywhere - spend time with their own communities, whether Bhutanese or Scottish or British, to decompress and feel like they can be themselves.

Don't know how easy that will be in this case, given what's gone down.
