Spotted on the Guardian today:

Raising money for the kimono-clad fox-killer's "Good" Law Project.

Definitely one to avoid!

Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights

Organised by Olly Alexander and the Mighty Hoopla festival to ‘fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion’, Trans Mission will take place at Wembley Arena in March

Not mentioned anywhere on their website is the fact that there is only one person actually in control of the company.
Guess who

Someone, can't remember who, maybe Legal Gengar, did a bit of a deep dive into it, IIRC it was said that only one of the people in some role could remove him or it might have been decide something, but he was the only person in that role. I should probably find it first as I'm
not remembering it well!

Just putting this here, in case the lineup quietly changes nearer the time

The lineup of the Sugababes will probably change by then.

lcakethereforeIam · 28/11/2025 20:53

I'm seriously waiting for when it's my turn to be a Sugarbabe. Everyone else seems to have had a go ☹️

TwistedWonder · 28/11/2025 21:02

Not quite sure the rush for tickets will be quite on par with Oasis but I could be wrong….

Comparatively enjoyable as that line-up sounds, sadly I’m busy standing on Lego that evening.

She was a judge on some music programme called Starstruck (think Stars In Their Eyes) along with Adam Lambert and Jason Manford, and she and the other judges kept using "they" about someone, think it was Adam Smith.

She was interviewed and said this:
How does she see the current battle for trans rights? “Oh that’s easy,” she says. “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Human beings are human beings. The end, full stop. I think the moral panic that exists right now is a confection. It is red meat to a particular section of the electorate. They said the same thing years ago about gay people.”

Ach that's a shame. Beverley Knight has just not thought that deeply about it. This is actually a very homophobic and lesbophobic ideology once you scratch the surface of it. Sad that celebrities like her don't see it. The TRAs really have been successful at attaching themselves to a worthy cause and duping people into believing it's the same sort of thing. It's really, really not.

I'm trying hard to think of a more pretentious line up of artists and sadly struggling.

A pub covers band will be more together

The addition of Sam Smith?

I'm sure at some point some edgy soul will shout 'fuck JKR!" and they'll all cheer.

What a time to be alive - a charity fundraiser for a bloke who batters foxes to death and loses every court to defend the rights of blokes to get their dicks out in women’s changing rooms.

Nailed it.

Disappointed in Sophie - she’s always struck me as quite intelligent.

I think it needs more drag queens.

Maybe a special appearance by Helen Wobberly?

Davros · 28/11/2025 22:39

didn't Ian Mackellan step down from Stonewall as he didn’t like how it had changed?

If she declined it'd ruin her branding.

Ah yes. Good call.

TakingMyChancesWithTheRabbits · 28/11/2025 22:53

I heard Kae Tempest's cover of Freedom 90 on the radio the other day. She's really fucked her voice with the testosterone, and there are quite a few lines in it that are a bit too on the nose for someone who's transitioned.

Does he still live in the windmill?

Must be quite expensive to maintain.

Very generous to put on a concert to raise funds for him.

Jolyon UpShit Creek is tilting at windmills?

I'm not so sure - I can imagine a rush to be seen to be on the right side of history, supporting the most marginalised and endangered group in the country. World. Universe - whatever the claim is🙄

Not as much of a rush as there would have been a couple of years ago, though.

moto748e · 28/11/2025 23:24

It's going to take years yet, isn't it?

I wonder how they're going to organise the toilets and the backstage changing rooms.

Anyone planning to smash the windows of the venue? Leave bottles of piss all around it? Spray paint it with women's rights slogans? Hold camera 'phones inches from attendants faces? Poke them with a broken umbrella, then try to get them arrested for breaking it? Release crickets inside? Play terfy music so loud that the audience can't hear the acts? No? Me neither.

Edited

This.

Thank you

Recitation of dogma to shut down critical thinking is out of the cult playbook. She really has swallowed it. Very sad to see.

What's really disappointing is that she is performing in the musical Sylvia next year about Sylvia Pankhurst, the women's rights campaigner.

Zack Polanski has tweeted 'Delighted to be speaking at this charity concert at Wembley in March'

Somebody needs to tell him it's not a charity gig.

moto748e · 28/11/2025 23:50

It's a mystery to me why Zack Polanski is taken seriously. Says something about much of our media, I suppose.

TheUnusuallyQuerulentMxLauraBrown · 29/11/2025 01:06

Crikey! I’m truly amazed by the kindness and generosity on display!

At this rate, poor, vulnerable Jolly-on will be able to reimburse his publisher for his far-too-generous book advance, rent some storage space for the unsold hardback bloviations (that he definitely doesn’t want pulped) AND buy a multi million pound country house estate to replace the mid century modern windmill he was forced to sell (after realising the location, slightly outside of Brighton, was mildly inconvenient),
