This is no surprise after his disgusting responses to the Mayoral Questions last year:

Here he is lying: https://www.google.com/search?q=sadiq+khan+rape+gang+issue+mayoral+questiohns&sca_esv=fbaa7d3b9c35fdd6&udm=7&biw=1445&bih=698&sxsrf=AE3TifPy7V-EXPq_LwF7YzJkipNKJdaksQ%3A1761031972512&ei=JDf3aI_3HqO5hbIPltjWgAI&ved=0ahUKEwiPmaOp47SQAxWjXEEAHRasFSAQ4dUDCBE&uact=5&oq=sadiq+khan+rape+gang+issue+mayoral+questiohns&gs_lp=EhZnd3Mtd2l6LW1vZGVsZXNzLXZpZGVvIi1zYWRpcSBraGFuIHJhcGUgZ2FuZyBpc3N1ZSBtYXlvcmFsIHF1ZXN0aW9obnNIqwtQ6wFYhQpwAXgBkAEBmAFroAGZBqoBAzguMbgBA8gBAPgBAZgCAaACBsICChAAGLADGNYEGEeYAwCIBgGQBgSSBwExoAf5CLIHALgHAMIHAzItMcgHBA&sclient=gws-wiz-modeless-video#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:4d0001a7,vid:noJCNh60lfk,st:0

He has to go.

Ellie Reynolds, one of the abuse survivors who quit her role in the government inquiry's victims and survivor's liaison panel is being interviewed on Woman's Hour now.

World at one on led with this news and the discussion and interviews are worth a listen. Starts around 7 mins in

defrazzled · 21/10/2025 14:52

@Anactor everyone has an agenda here don't they:

Police, labour, councils, social workers: cover up
left leaning media: cover up
right leaning media: slam the left for cover up, feed anti immigrant narrative
all media: click bait stories of abused girls
Maggie Oliver: vindication for victims and media coverage to help her foundation
The victims: tell their stories, be believed, stop the abuse

and many more

Listening to the accents of the victims, intelligent women, on the BBC they sound so out of place. Women like them have no place on the radio/screen. They have no trust in the police, courts or media. How can they?

What a disgusting mess everyone in power has made of this from day one.

And obviously racists will use Khans behaviour further their bigotry.
Charlene Down's mother Karen was exploited by the BNP and right now, racists will be spreading horrendous lies on social media.
The cover up and lies by the authorities are hugely problematic for everyone in our poor deprived communities. Us poor working class folk up North may be thickies but even we can see this, even as we're smeared by our Guardian reading betters in Islington.

Which is why we need complete clarity. Sunshine is a disinfectant. If things weren’t ‘that’ bad, these ladies wouldn’t have quit. So I can only conclude is is that bad, and that shocking, and the longer they try to cover things up the longer the shaken can has to fizz before it pops.

PronounssheRa · 21/10/2025 15:19

The thing with Charlene Downes mother was the BNP et al were only able to use her because she was ignored and let down by everyone else.

They are a family without influence, connections or wealth to help with getting justice. So they relied on the police and politicians, who were worse than useless. That created a vacuum for the BNP to exploit.

Here is an article from a (supposedly) perfectly respectable source, for those who can't countenance anything but pre-approved media outlets.

'In her resignation letter, external, Ms Reynolds said she felt the inquiry had become "less about the truth and more about a cover-up", while both women raised concerns about the two shortlisted chairs having backgrounds in policing and social services.

Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips denied claims of a cover-up and insisted her government was "committed to exposing the failures" to tackle "these appalling crimes".'

A third survivor has just resigned from the panel.

Headshot of Home Office Minister Jess Phillips. She has her short, light brown hair tucked behind her ears. She wears a thick black, jacket and very large gold hoop earrings.

Third survivor quits grooming gang inquiry panel

"Elizabeth" says the process felt like "a cover-up" and had "created a toxic environment for survivors".

@PronounssheRa Karen Downes is a challenging victim. She was not going to win awards for her parenting skills and she certainly did not graduate from charm school with first class honours.

But this is the crux of it for me, even a deeply unpleasant working class woman, with repulsive view that I cannot stomach, deserves justice for the rape and murder of her child. The left currently seem to think racists do not deserve justice. I think everyone does. And when they are treated fairly by everyone, we have a chance of changing their views and creating communities we all deserve.

WarriorN · 21/10/2025 15:53

this is the only way the survivors will be able to make themselves heard.

which is definitely illustrative that there’s been an issue in terms of transparency of process.

it’s a bad day when people have to whistle blow about an inquiry into serious safeguarding failures

WarriorN · 21/10/2025 15:54

Labour HAVE to get a grip here.

When I've seen Khan on question time he is obviously out of his depth, I often wondered how he could 'run' a city like London but I see he has a little posse to help him.

defrazzled · 21/10/2025 16:11

What I really can't understand is why those who are convinced that it is NOT a racial issue do not want an inquiry to draw this conclusion and show what is going on. Trying to prevent a full and honest inquiry is causing issues for everyone concerned.

Is this the same Charlene Downs whose parents invited paedophile into the home and the same Charlene whose mother didnt report her missing for 3 days?

defrazzled · 21/10/2025 16:20

@Dollymylove yes, that's Karen. If you search more thoroughly there is a lot worse than that you can smear her with, should you chose to attack a woman who's daughter was raped, murdered and most likely had her body minced in a local take away. Karen couldn't move so was stuck in the area, she'd always had serious MH issues and drank to self medicate. It got a lot worse.
The men who most likely killed Charlene sued and were awarded £250K each, so it all worked out quite well for them. Less so for Karen and Charlenes dad.

Karen did not kill her child, and what happened may not have happened if she'd been a good mother. But the question here is: Do you think there should be justice for a raped and murdered 13 year old child regardless of who her mother is? I do. If you don't that is something to spend time thinking about.

Im sorry, im not sure what you are trying to say. None of that, absolutely none, means that Charlene's disappearance and very likely murder should have happened or that the police response should have been so shabby.

And yes I know the background I'm from Blackpool and was living there at the time charlene went missing.

This. So if a child has neglectful parents somehow their disappearance and likely murder is warranted and the perpetrator somehow less bad?

I never said that I mean if her parents had been less neglectful she might still be here.
Ironically she was about to be taken into care before she vanished

I remember seeing an interview with the dad of one of the rapists in rotherham I think. He basically said the parents should have looked after their kid better. Like that absolved his son of responsibility for being a rapey paedo. This sounds a bit like that.

It wasn’t Charlene Downes fault she had shit parents, there is absolutely no justification for what happened to her.

Completely agree with this, it would come out in the wash of a proper investigation wouldn’t it. So why hesitate.

There is a reason he needs an entourage wherever he goes. How low has London fallen since he is the mayor. I hope when the next Mayor comes he is indicted for his corruption and crimes if found guilty of such things. I can’t wait.

Yes, for his safety, after racists whipped up threats on social media 🤔

The desire to blame the parents is a protective psychological phenomena that parents experience to assure them "this cannot happen to me". It was mentioned when Madelaine Mcann went missing and read a lot about it then.

This crime involves the gang rape of children. Most were in care, or neglected, some had attentive parents. But all children are children and need protection from rapists.

Marking to read later.
I have been a supporter of Sadiq till now, but if he has ignored grooming gangs, he must be called out.

defrazzled · 21/10/2025 17:13

It isn't just him @Holluschickie , and he may have been misled by his sources. But his disgraceful treatment of women behaviour in the Susan Hall interview shows he is unfit to do his job because he does not care about the safety of girls.

OP posts:
Holluschickie · 21/10/2025 17:15

I do need to read more about this.
As a brown woman myself, I firmly believe the safety of all women and girls must come first before any religious or cultural sensibilities. No ifs or buts.

happydappy2 · 21/10/2025 17:23

I think when all the evidence comes out about how Sadiq has covered up things, to protect his 'community' people will be beyond horrified. His disdain for women is there for all to see-the fact he cares so little for young white girls is disgusting.
