Another breastfeeding one

In the latest of Breastfeeding batshittery..‘Breastfeeding and Lactation Support UK’ have today posted this.

I am so angered by it. The UK breastfeeding rates are amongst some of the lowest globally. We should be empowering women, not erasing them. Encouraging them to leave if they disagree?? They should be ashamed.

Genuine question- do you not think that kind of singles someone out though when they might not want to be singled out? Especially as they'll likely know that not everyone will be accepting of their gender identity or view point? As evidenced in this thread people can be quite vitriolic on this topic (although I do understand the reasons behind that).

The assumption is that people will do that maths themselves but I guess many peoples minds do automatically jump to trans women or non binary people who are biologically male because of what tends to be discussed on these topic boards or in the media. But is that fair to the person/people you're singling out though? I think from a moderator standpoint that could also be problematic when you're trying to keep everyone happy?

Yep that's exactly why I'm here... Not at all to defend myself from someone posting stuff about me online causing a lot of hate to be sent to me personally via many different social platforms. Very supportive of a fellow woman to incute hate towards one.

If you are who you are say you are then you shouldn't be getting hate sent to you, that is wrong.

Why do you keep making such a distinction between breastfeeding and LACTATION?
Surely within the confines of a breastfeeding support group there’s no actual difference?

But yet it's happening because people like the OP of this thread and it being posted on Twitter too. My inbox on Facebook has been full all day, it's now extended to Instagram too. Unfortunately sharing someone's Facebook profile publicly allowed for that. And you're allowed to hate on me here but it's not okay for others to hate on me on other social media platforms?

Except there is because although those who breastfeed do lactate not all those who lactate do breastfeed.

I have to agree. I've even had direct messages asking what group I run as if I'm going run share that on an anonymous forum online especially with the level of unpleasantness on this thread. Obviously I'll provide neutral information on a variety of options incase there's a genuine need for support but now I've no way of knowing what's genuine or not and I'm certainly not going to risk exposing my group to god knows what.

But it's hardly surprising if there are people checking up as you have said some extremely concerning things here tonight and it comes across like you are here on the prowl trying drum up new business and then have become offensive when people have questioned your pseudoscience and anti-woman ideology.

I wouldn't recommend allowing anyone to know your actual identity the amount of hate I've been sent today is unreal. Personal insults towards me, my children, my parenting etc is INSANE!

You mean why is she responding directly to a post online criticising her? I wouldn't suggest that is sniffing around (nice use of dehumanising language btw) as opposed to defending herself after being dragged online.

I haven't got an 'attitude' towards women and I've met people with the same energy they've given me.

No one said that they weren't using their lactation to feed a baby. I said not all those that lactate BREASTfeed. Some people CHESTfeed. Referring to them as a breastfeeding parent soley because they lactate completely dismisses the whole point of inclusive language.
