No clear link to anything trans.

From what little is known, his background seems relatively comfortable and boring.

He had access to and grew up with guns, to a degree that seems very odd in the UK, but I don't know what is normal in the US.

Thank you.

baggle · 12/09/2025 17:14

One of the bullet casings had "Notices, bulges, OwO what's this?" written on it which is apparently some slogan that "furries" use. So trans-adjacent at least.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 12/09/2025 17:18

‘George Abaraonye, 20, reportedly posted on WhatsApp: 'Charlie Kirk got shot, let's f*ing go' and added a praying hands 'thanks' emoji’

This is from the newly elected Oxford Union president. What are these universities teaching these young people?

‘After his reaction went viral Abaraonye issued an apology, telling The Times that he had 'reacted impulsively' and made comments that he quickly deleted. Abaraonye said: 'Those words did not reflect my values. To be clear: nobody deserves to be the victim of political violence’

Can someone explain how those words don’t reflect his values, given that HE posted them?

The initial reports were that the bullets had trans and anti-fascist engravings on them. A lot of discussion on social media that bullets produced by Turan Ammo have "TRN" on them, and the media briefing did confirm the anti-fascist messages.

But as usual there are people who have to make trans people the victim in every event, making accusations that people were claiming that the suspect was trans and that trans people get blamed.

This from the Guardian-

‘On one of three unfired casings read “hey fascist! Catch!”, a second read “oh bella ciao” and a third one read: “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO”.’

RayonSunrise · 12/09/2025 17:24

Helen Pluckrose, who is always consistent when others fold to tribalism, has pointed out that if you insist on free speech absolutism for one group you have to support it for the other. Which means that the Reform party wife should be able to say she wants to see migrant hotels burned down without fearing arrest or losing her career, and Abaraonye should be able to say something equally gross about Charlie Kirk.

Personally I believe free speech should stop at actively inciting or celebrating violence, but I believe that should apply to everyone.

Charlie Kirk supported gun violence. Felt the annual gun deaths were worth it, in order to uphold the second amendment.

They’re all backtracking and deleting now.

They have shown who they are.

Said they agreed with him on the trans issue, yes. But they certainly didn't laud' him, that's for sure. So yes it is willfully dishonest and deceitful.

i recall a poster saying his views had merit...

Meaning: the quality of being particularly good or worthy, especially so as to deserve praise or reward

TheJoyOfWriting · 12/09/2025 17:07

Just catching up - was the shooter trans or not? Did the bullet have trans writing on or was that false?

One of the messages, "notices bulge OWO", is apparently a reference to furries.

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/notices-bulge-owo-whats-this

However, since a meme like this is often used for obscure ironic purposes, this doesn't mean that Tyler Robinson is in the world of furries.

BeeSourianteAgain · 12/09/2025 17:38

In a complete shock, despite the anti-trans activists calling for death of trans people for murdering their favourite white supremacist, the murderer wasn't trans and the ammunition just had some anti-fascist words etched on it.

Out of the many many thousands of mass shootings in the US, not one has been carried out by a trans woman and the rate is far below the prevalence of trans people generally.

Shame on the 'gender critical' activists who were boosting this vile panic. Utterly brainrotted, shameful behaviour from people well old enough to know better.

moto748e · 12/09/2025 17:38

I haven't RTFT, and I daresay it's been mentioned, but

‘The Left is the party of murder,’ Musk posted on X

What a POS that man is. Let's have a civil war in the US, eh? Perhaps that's what he wants.

I agree.

I don’t believe that most of the posts warrant arrest. There were deffo a few that should be looked into though.

I don’t really agree with censoring, operation #LetThemSpeak all the way for me

Why is it that trans ideology defenders always bring race into it? Many of us are not white. So please keep your racism out of this. And we are now re-set to 0 days since trans ideologists showed their racism.

Re trans, yes. Which is what 99% of people believe.

The only people calling for the deaths of people are trans activists.

Which is no surprise.

I'm rather confused - you think that only white women require sex specific services?

Leaving that aside, how do you think equality law works if 'woman' can't be defined?

SionnachRuadh · 12/09/2025 17:46

Deseret News is dropping details as it gets them. Little so far - seems to have a fairly conventional background. College dropout who did one semester, the slogans seem to indicate he was Extremely Online, family member notes he had become more angry and political recently, which also indicates Extremely Online and might indicate few real life friends.

Based in Washington County down on the Arizona border, which isn't exactly the middle of nowhere - St George is a fairly substantial city, biggest in the state outside metro Salt Lake.

I'm thinking back to the Trump assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last year, where the shooter turned out not to be an organised extremist but just some random Reddit kid with poor mental health who had radicalised himself online in a very haphazard way.

Can you point out where, in any of my posts, I’ve defended trans ideology?

I haven’t expressed any opinions about trans ideology whatsoever.

I’ve criticised the way White Feminism focuses on the trans thing to the exclusion of virtually everything else.

And pointed out the way Charlie Kirk’s racist white supremacist advocacy has been consistently dismissed on this thread because he was “polite” and “he engaged”.

That’s all.

How on earth would you know anything about my race? That is textbook juvenile thinking and astonishingly insulting.

If women are not separate as a class, feminism at all is meaningless.
How can you defend the rights of a group, when that group can’t be defined?

nauticant · 12/09/2025 17:52

I have a suspicion that when more of the story comes out, what's going to emerge is an inadequate young man who rapidly radicalised himself without any clear idea of what he was doing except indulging in his righteousness and hatred, that he hadn't spent time formulating into a clear set of ideas.

Some people are going to be looking for a committed warrior for one cause or another. I think they're going to be disappointed.
