Reform, like Kirk also seem to be quite good at talking to younger people, they’re closer to the Greens in that respect than Labour or the Tories. The traditional parties will have to up their game.

I understand that the guy who runs Farage's social media is about 23. It's no wonder his TikTok game is good.

There was a definite thing last year of Barron Trump (18) outsmarting the Democratic Party, because he could tell his dad what podcasts he could go on that would organically build his popularity.

I think Zack Polanski and his people have some talent in this regard. Labour are still running a Blair era comms strategy of planting stories in the Times or on Newsnight and getting them amplified by friendly pundits. The Tories are about five years behind that.

I know, right?

Do people know anything about history?

Communism and its view of history were behind absolutely massive numbers of deaths in the 20th century. More than any other ideology.

Uncle Joe, Stalin, killed around 20 million of his OWN people....

I’m fascinated, but not surprised, that so-called feminists could defend Charlie Kirk’s ideology and persona and be so quick to take up the call “Bet it was a trans that did it!” That really sums up the direction this board has taken in the last few years, and it is sour. Kirk, among other things, advocated for a 1950s type America (and possibly world) where men rule the family, women don’t work or vote and abortions are illegal. How can feminists support such a person or people like him?

be so quick to take up the call “Bet it was a trans that did it!”

Do you really, truly blame us? Who else would we suspect? Have you truly not been paying attention the last few years, and especially the last 6 months in particular? "Arm Trans!" "Protect the dolls!" tshirts with guns on it, guns on their banners, with trans people holding guns.

A far left politician (A male politician, of course.) in the UK posted an anime STFU TERF! meme with a handgun on it, and has had to resign from his party. Over the last 6 months, there has been a huge onslaught of people advocating shooting feminists and 'TERFs'.

This is a gun cult.

Have you just not been paying attention?

How can you be so surprised this happen, AND, a school shooter just a month back was trans as well. Have you been laying under a rock with your eyes closed and ear plugs in? Not meaning to be rude, genuinely curious how you are surprised everyone leapt to the assumption.

Also look up Sarah Jane Baker. A transwoman who years ago was stirring up a crowd to 'punch a terf!' A woman was subsequently badly beaten up.
Then, a 72 year old woman in NZ had her eye socket fractured by a young male trans activist.

Did it genuinely not occur to you that trans activists advocating violence, would yield results and see women actually beaten up and people shot? Do you not see how dangerous now trans activism is? It is a vicious, violent cult. Btw attached pic (if it goes through) is the anime 'STFU TERF' meme pic that had the politician have to resign from his party. No real remorse from him, of course. As well as 4 other trans activist gun memes. Trans activists are currently obsessed with guns probably as much as the NRA is.

How did you feel about Nancy Pelosi's husband or the Democrat couple both murdered? No lowered flags then and guess all 3 favoured gun control. This is being spun for political advantage

Really sad. And not "oh well that means someone I don't agree with on these issues deserves to die." If that's what you think, you've lost your soul.

StellaAndCrow · 12/09/2025 11:18

Apologies for likely wrong terminology, I'm not very good on political things.

But I'm interested to know how the "traditional working class" are voting these days. From my experience, people in my family living in deprived areas have ALWAYS voted Labour and never dreamed of voting anything else.

But more recently, people in deprived areas seem more likely to vote Reform? I wonder if working class people don't feel represented by Labour as they used to. It seems like a change.

Thanks for this commentary. Enough people on this thread seem to agree with his ideas and beliefs. Are you denying them?

I don’t support CK’s ideology. I think his murder is abhorrent and I’ve already stated that on other threads. Both things can be true at the same time.

Where has anyone on this thread agreed with any of his beliefs (bar trans, which 99% of people agree on)?

SionnachRuadh · 12/09/2025 11:25

There was a really interesting and unintentionally funny bit on the Hugo Rifkind show on Times Radio the other day that went into this.

Now the Spectator or Telegraph skew towards traditional Tory wets, but they have a few Reform adjacent people who get where the revolt is coming from.

Over at the Times, it's like a dinner party of extremely privileged centre left people, who don't know anyone who isn't extremely privileged and centre left, trying to make sense of these mysterious "voters" they've heard about.

So the woman on the panel, whose name escapes me, quoted pollsters saying exactly this - we used to break down the electorate into slices, Mondeo Man, Worcester Woman, but these days the average Reform voter just looks like the average voter.

Then Hugo and his panel had a Principal Skinner moment where they stroked their chins for thirty seconds wondering are we the weirdos? before snapping back to default mode and spending the next hour talking about how they're absolutely normal and everyone else is weird.

Have you been living under a rock or reading the thread?

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 12/09/2025 11:27

My first thought when they showed the picture of the suspected shooter was there would be a trans element behind it so I’m not at all surprised to read the more recent news stories hinting at a link.

I think it’s a sign of things to come with a large group of disenfranchised detransitioners who feel their were mis-sold a solution and can’t get their old bodies back. This is a ticking time bomb with more violence to come particularly against vocal opponents.

Exhibit 1: The “Zizian” cult

In some ways, the Zizians are precisely a product of their privileged backgrounds. They drank deep on narratives of trans victimhood, on the bigotry of mainstream society and on the need to ward off an apocalyptic future. Their view of the world is a Manichaean one, divided up into ‘good’ and ‘evil’ people, the latter of whom no doubt deserve to die. It is what their prep schools and universities had drilled into them since they were kids. They differed from their peers only in their arrogance, self-righteousness and literal-mindedness.
The Zizians tick all the same boxes as the cults of old – murder, intimidation and a messiah-like leader. But they come with some 21st-century updates. Trans, vegan and convinced of their own moral rectitude, they are very much a cult of our time.

https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/08/16/inside-the-trans-vegan-death-cult/

They sound like an overprivileged trans cult rather than a left-wing group.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/09/2025 11:41

Left wing isn’t synonymous with “people who do good”.

Anyone questioning or critiquing the left is de facto on the right, Short.

That's why the left is in the shabby state it is in. No dissent, no questions, and no self reflection.

Do you really think that’s the case? Do you honestly think that simply because - for example - I have questioned this board for piling on the left, that I then believe you’re all on the right? That’s very black and white thinking, isn’t it? (And wrong.)

Haha reminds me of Rory Stewart explaining that the reason he completely failed to predict the result of the US election was that all the voters were wrong.

This! There are people defending his views, which is allowed because it’s free speech. But when anyone criticise his views, they are accused of wanting him dead!

Would you like to point out where posters on this thread who’ve criticised his views have been accused of “wanting him dead”?

It is perfectly possible to disagree with someone vehemently and still respect their right to their opinion. A stance most posters here have taken.

You might due to your own biases. But otherwise, there’s plenty of others/groups to have suspicions about. Charlie Kirk had many enemies, even globally. Mossad has even been brought up as a possibility - I’d say probably not to that, but it was quite professionally carried out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a trans activist motive behind this.

(Note for the hard of critical thinking, this doesn’t mean I believe this to be true or I want it to be the case, just that it would seem a strong possibility based on media reports of the ammunition found.)

There has been so much violence - or the threat thereof - and violent language around for such a long time. I’m thinking of the pictures of guns posted in protests at Kathleen Stock, or at LWS events. Of Posie Parker being attacked in Australia, and of women assaulted at rallies here. Of the shooting in the US recently where the perpetrator was trans. Of the placards we’ve seen again and again calling for the death of TERFs generally or JKR specifically. Of the endless rhetoric about this being a fight for survival because of “erasure” or “genocide”.

If - IF - it’s escalated into cold-blooded murder then no one can say that the warning signs weren’t there for all to see, for years.

Nothing to say about any of her points then? Just “biases”? Doesn’t the violent rhetoric towards women concern you at all?
