I have read a few times here and elsewhere that the two groups with the highest rates of being trans or highest increase in transitioning are teenage girls and middle-aged men. I can only find data for teenage girls. Could someone please point me to data supporting the claim that middle-aged men are a group with high transitioning rates?

I suspect having the option to fully embrace one's disposition/masculinity/femininity is attractive for many. Kind of like men & women who embrace breast implants/ lip filler/gym 'restructuring' now its more widely available.

None of that changes your sex though.

I think you’ll find that there are plenty of ‘cultural norms’ that were against male cross dressers in that time frame as well so that doesn’t work as a theory either.

Social contagion is a known issue especially among young girls and, oh look at the group expanding disproportionately - young girls. Social media sites were forced to take down content promoting anorexia, then the contagion moved to self harming so that gad to be shut down. Now gender ideology is being heavily promoted at many schools as well as social media and we can see the results among young girls.

As the Tavistock found, the number of girls is disproportionately increased compared to the boys. They also found that the relevant factors for the girls were largely autism, internalised homophobia, mental health issues, misogyny and abuse.

It is no coincidence that in areas with a high number of activist teachers and organisations, there is a disproportionate number of young girls adopting a trans identity. In other areas (like mine) the numbers are far lower.

@BundleBoogie you must have missed the post where @Howseitgoin explained that that's because us older women are all shrinking violets who are too meek to have the confidence to "come out" as trans.

The impact of social contagion teenagers in the grip of mental illnesses such as anorexia / self harm is exceptionally well evidenced. Extreme transactivists have a lot invested in denying that these mentally vulnerable children in the grip of the delusion that their developing bodies are flawed but will be cured by a sex change, can be vulnerable to social contagion, gaslighting online and grooming by dodgy adults.

Proving the existence of a "trans child" is important to the interests of these men as it obscures the sexual fetish aspects of this ideology.

It's a bit surprising to see social contagion in children denied on a feminist board on a parenting site, but it takes all sorts I suppose.

They can make up whatever nonsense they like, it doesn’t change reality and just undermines their integrity.

We are talking about sex - the verifiable immutable human characteristic that has existed and not changed since the dawn of humans.
