Just wondering what people think about her. I was sent a link by someone, and I do occasionally try to watch the views of pro-trans people for "balance", but I really struggled with this one.

I find her excessively pleased with herself, incoherent, ageist and of course prone to flinging around insults such as "TERF", "transphone" and "bigot" every few minutes.

I'm not quite sure what gives her the confidence to "diss" people like Helen Joyce, Richard Dawkins et al, as if they're idiots and she is some sort of intellectual giant.

She says things like this: "The UK's Supreme Court ruled on "biological sex", but they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. The "Gender Critical" position on biology is just factually wrong. Finally hundreds of experts in the field come together to call out all this anti-science rubbish"

Other than being trans herself, does she have any justifiable claim to the superior knowledge she purports to have?

A youtuber made a video of how much one of the bigger trans youtubers made. It was about 80k a year.

So I think the more controversial and outrageous, the better. At the end of the day, he's an influencer. So of course he will say anything to be popular.

Why would anyone read porn on public transport surrounded by families with children to begin with? I don't give a damn who does it - it's creepy and irresponsible

IIRC she was researching fanfic and 'shipping'. It was Harry Potter fanfic, not porn. A dishonest TRA spread the porn rumour and other dishonest TRAs perpetuate it.

This is the relevant part. The person who was in the wrong here was the creep who stalked her.

If you are on Twitter/X, you may have seen the bullying and smears targeted at Helen Joyce after a man posted photographs on social media that he had taken of her while she was travelling on an evening train.

Harassment is defined as behaviour intended to cause alarm or distress. Harassing someone by spying on them, tracking their internet use or publishing material about them is stalking. Every decent person knows this is wrong. The perpetrator himself wrote that he knew he “looked like a massive creep”, but he excused his behaviour by saying that Helen and our colleagues were not ordinary women but “TERFs”. He was so proud of spotting them and spying on them that he boasted to the world about it and sought to whip up a storm of shame and innuendo. Helen has reported the crime to the police.

The thing that the creep zoomed in on, accusing Helen of looking at pornography on her phone, was a website of “fan fiction”. This is something she first researched and wrote about at The Economist and more recently in her newsletter (this is recommended reading).

I also think that Hatched has shown a distinct lack of ability to judge appropriateness of behaviour as per the posts on this very thread if not even taking into account past threads.

It does send a message to any readers about the group of male people who demand access to female single sex spaces though. (Note: I have made a distinction here using behaviour and have not said this is a generalised trait of all male people who describe themselves as having a transgender identity.)

I've seen people reading Fifty Shades in public. Not read it myself but I believe it's quite graphic, possibly pornographic. What I didn't do was read over their shoulder to find out for myself. That would be weird possibly stalker-ish.

Watching porn is a different kettle of fish. You'd only need to catch a glimpse 🤢

I think Butters agrees watching porn in public is beyond the pale and is wisely staying silent on the subject.
