Violent trans rights protest in Manchester.

This happened 2 weeks ago but I only found out about it when Mr.Menno uploaded a video yesterday.
A few local YouTubers were there and got plenty of footage. Notably they were all quite shocked at how aggressive the TRA's were. Well the ones who weren't familiar with the way they operate.
They didn't just stick to marching through the streets. They invaded the Arndale Centre and marched shouting and swearing while rather bemused looking people were shopping and trying to enjoy their day.
Things turned violent as usual. Two young lesbians got punched and dragged to the floor.
I've linked to a video by Billy Moore who generally goes around filming the city and talking to homeless people and so on. It's quite long but the trans stuff starts around the 15 minute.mark if anyone's interested.

So ironic to see allies bleating on about how trans are the most marginalised and vulnerable and have had their dignity and rights taken away, while the delicate flowers are being filmed acting violently and attacking women (and men).

But carry on lads. People need to see more of this.

The narrative won't sustain much longer, there's now far too much evidence out there. Like the Labour party: identifying as, but not 'passing'.

InWithPeaceOutWithStress · 02/07/2025 18:09

It’s quite a long video, I skimmed through it but couldn’t see the violence / attacks mentioned.

DefineHappy · 02/07/2025 18:32

Why is there a clown holding up a banner?

TheOtherRaven · 02/07/2025 18:42

Largely comes over as a lot of angry, anti social and unhinged people shouting and swearing at each other without the faintest regard for anyone else in their vicinity. That includes the guy filming at times.

dapsnotplimsolls · 02/07/2025 19:10

I enjoyed the Billboard Chris guy who put his message on a trans flag - stealthy!

GreenFriedTomato · 02/07/2025 19:54

Yes that's rather clever. He blends in until you read what's actually on his board. I'd never heard of him before. Was amusing to see him leading the march at one point.

These people all look so unwell.

Guy with shoulder length hair barges into the two lesbians filming violently and repeatedly. She has her grabbed and they surround them way too close to intimidate them. Stewards did nothing.

About 28 minutes in theres's a lot of pushing and shoving of the two lesbians.

At about 29 minutes they're surrounded by men in wigs chanting 'there are many, many more of us than you'.

Edit: Two of them are in obvious wigs. Some of them are balding.

InWithPeaceOutWithStress · 02/07/2025 20:22

Thanks for the timestamps. The TRAs are really obnoxious and annoying when they block the cameras with their placards. That being said the two lesbians come across as being obnoxious and aggressive too. Shoving their phone cameras right into individuals faces and you can see one of them shoving the TRAs rather than them being shoved. I can’t see them being punched and dragged to the floor as is claimed in the OP. It all feels a bit click baity.

arethereanyleftatall · 02/07/2025 20:24

Anyone who is shocked at how aggressive trans rights protesters are, hasn’t been paying proper attention.

Janie143 · 02/07/2025 20:31

Whats with the union flags?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 02/07/2025 20:33

It's the usual tactics - mobbing people, using flags, placards and umbrellas to block filming / people.
Some years ago there was a demo outside Netflix protesting about Dave Chapelle with a demented women with a tambourine screaming "repent motherfuckers' at 2 men holding placards saying things like "Dave is funny" etc. The film seems to have been removed but it typifies the unhinged extremism that this ideology provokes and is worth seeing if you can find it online.

And yes - what an unhealthy looking bunch of protesters. Sad to see.

ArabellaScott · 02/07/2025 20:36

The protesters march about and then invade a shopping centre. Police turn up, at 48 minutes one officer asks one of the apparent leaders a question and is ignored. The polis shrugs and leaves.

The presenter is correct that other protests are not treated like this.

Most of them are just sad sacks, but there are a few very aggressive men amongst them.

The reason the women shoved the TRAs is to escape. Did you not notice the TRAs surrounding and kettling them to prevent them moving.

That was the one where a TRA snapped one of the DC supporters signs off its wooden stick then started screaming he's got a weapon.

Yes - starting at 5.00 mins in you can see the man breaking his placard (said something like "Jokes are funny ") and then shouting "he's got a weapon" and then the "repent motherfucker" women arrives:

I can't see them being punched in this video. Just their say so and others who were there. I'm watching a few other videos of the day to see if I can get a different perspective.
What is obvious though is a lot of pushing and shoving and trying to block people.from filming. And one of the lesbians did push the long haired guy but this was after he repeatedly shoved them and got in their faces.

There was a funny moment in a different video. The TRA blocked the trams from moving and one of the YouTubers started shouting Trams Rights Trams Rights !! 😁

Oh well done! I thought it was lost!

So did I. I presume as this is the account of one of the "Dave is funny" supporters of Chapelle, he's got the copyright for the film of that gloriously insane moment.

I also recall that Netflix responded to the demo by sacking some employees who organised the demo against them.. FAFO and all that 😄

"ironic to see allies bleating on about how trans are the most marginalised and vulnerable and have had their dignity and rights taken away, while the delicate flowers are being filmed acting violently and attacking women (and men)."

I know I have said this before but this is how radicalisation starts. You take the actions of extremists and apply the same motivations to all members of that group. It's lazy thinking and its dangerous thinking. It's dehumanising and I personally find it deeply worrying that it's on this site day in and day out.

Let's use an analogy. "Ironic how British Muslims claim to be feeling marginalised and vulnerable, while the delicate flowers are on film acting violently stabbing people and blowing up the tube".

Clearly my next door neighbours, who are Muslim, had nothing whatsoever to do with the actions of the radical few, and they should not be held accountable for it.

All trans people are not trans activists. Just like all Muslims are not radicals, all Jewish people aren't Zionists, and all fat people aren't lazy and greedy.

Most trans people are not at rallies attacking women and men. Please check your language. Just like you claim for pronouns, it matters. "Some of the delicate flowers", fair enough (though the contempt drips from your use of "delicate flowers" to describe trans women).

No.

TRAs have been policing women’s speech and language for years now, and in doing so have removed women’s ability to speak up as our rights are trampled. We regularly get told that, while what we are saying might not be wrong, it would be better if we said it in a different tone of voice, or using different words, or in a kinder way.

Enough. Stop telling us how to describe our reality.

Oh grow up.

Telling you that it's not on to describe all of a minority in the terms of the radical fringe is not telling you how to describe your reality. It's not reality.

If I was on here saying "British Jews don't deserve any kind of protection or consideration because the reality is that the Israeli army is committing atrocities" I would rightly expect to be banned for hate speech. Why is it ok for greenfriedtomato to use exactly this rhetoric about trans people, conflating all trans people as delicate flowers going around attacking women? It's not true and you (should) know it.

NC28 · 03/07/2025 09:07

Seen that at the time. Billy Moore, Edge of the Matrix (the guy who wears the trans sandwich board) and MKR Audits (one half of the lesbian couple you mention) all put videos on YouTube of it. Only one we were missing was Charlie Veitch, I think.

There’s one particular individual who I can’t stand, who always appears in these videos. He’s a crying-faced wee scumbag who incites confrontation then behaves like the wronged party.

There are many British Jews not only opposed to the actions of the Israeli army but prepared to join pro-Palestinian marches to demonstrate their opposition. We might stop tarring all "trans" people with the same brush if some of this alleged silent majority actually do something to condemn the TRAs.
