Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

I grew up in the 80's; had my bum fondled on a staircase aged 7; was flashed at, cat called and had 'whore' shouted at me as a frightened teen...by men. I was terrified walking home from the bus stop - I used to take my shoes off and run. I once had a lesbian try to pick me up on the tube (so women can be invasive abusive dicks too but that's another point). You're all directing your vitriol at trans women when since the beginning of time it is men hurting women, not trans women hurting women.

Yeah I know you'll all scream "but trans women are MEN" but even if that's the case, why centre your fury around them and not, er, actual man-identifying MEN. Oh and by the way that rapist who pretended to be trans and raped women in a prison: not trans. A man. A fucking deceitful, violent, perverted sex offending man in a dress. Get it right.

You talk so fondly about your husbands' penises yet if a trans woman has one, it's the enemy. At heart, this is all rage and hatred against people who are not "normal" and don't look or identify how you'd prefer them to look and identify. Did you know that in 19th century South Africa black people were termed "non human?". Substitute "trans" for "black" and "not women" for "not human" and then see how your hatred is working for you.

In my view, anyone exposing their penis to someone of the opposite sex whether it is in the street or in the changing room, it is indecent exposure and should be treated as a sexual crime.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 29/06/2025 19:50

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 19:46

And trans women are not women, so it's fine to shove THEM under the bus.

No, they're not women. Telling them they can't use single sex spaces for members of the opposite sex isn't shoving them under the bus. Literally nobody else has the right to do that, so why should trans people?

I don't want to see any penis I haven't consented to seeing.

And the only penises I consent to seeing are my husband's and my (very young) son's.

WhyWouldAnyone · 29/06/2025 19:53

It's not the mums on Mumsnet trying to gain access to places they dont belong, is it? I'd argue it's not mums who are obsessing about penises.

Maowt · 29/06/2025 19:53

If a man wants to go in a toilet and attack a woman, he will do it.

If a person wants to break into your house they’ll do it. So I guess you may as well leave all windows and doors unlocked and wide open next time you’re on holiday or even just overnight. May as well just leave your keys in your car. If someone wants to steal it they will so why bother trying to stop it happening?

Helpmeplease2025 · 29/06/2025 19:54

My husbands penis is lovely, but it stays out of women’s spaces. As he is a man. As is anyone with a penis. Even if it’s chopped off, turned inside out, or waving around wildly under a dress. Its owner is a MAN

plantsdieinmyhouse · 29/06/2025 19:54

There is no such thing as a trans child.

Great, can you tell us how we let people who really are trans into single sex spaces for the opposite sex and keep the ones who are just pretending out?

Literally, talk us through how you think that policy would work in practice.

By the way, trying to draw an analogy with race here is incredibly racist.

How dare you deny their identity. Transphobe.
How TF can i tell if the TW in the women's changing room is genuine or not?

And FWIW my abuser often said how it was a shame he couldn't come into the ladies with me/volunteer to help on Guide camp "so we can be together more often"
These days he could just claim to be trans and be there.

So that's why I say no to all TW. Because I don't know which ones are 'genuine'

This doesn't even make sense.

Yeah, so lets make it even easier for abusive men by calling all women hateful bigots who dare challenge a man coming into female spaces.

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 19:55

Of course it does. Are you quite alright?

Anyway, thanks to the Supreme Court confirming that men who believe they are women shouldn't be in women's spaces, if we see a man in a women's spaces we no longer have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Igneococcus · 29/06/2025 19:58

How do you tell a predatory man from a transwoman?

The elderly woman who tried to pick me up when I was 14 was a "genuine woman".

Here's how it works.

Penis you consented to see: Fine
Penis you didn't consent to see: sex offence

It's not that hard.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 29/06/2025 19:59

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 19:55

This doesn't even make sense.

well, let me talk you through it

if any man who says 'actually I'm a laydee' is allowed in the ladies loos and can't be challenged, then all men are allowed in the ladies loos and can't be challenged, because any man can say 'actually I'm a laydee'

think of not letting men who declare themselves to be women into the ladies lavs as being like locking your front door. it doesn't stop burglars, but it makes their lives harder

yes it is a crime and IMO nobody should be dangling their penis about - stats show that those doing the dangling are men not trans women.

How do you tell a predatory man from a transwoman?

You can't, because (a) they don't wear badges and (b) the two things are not mutually exclusive anyway.

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 19:59

Apart from the ones who are trans women, you mean?

PepsiForEva · 29/06/2025 20:00

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 19:55

This doesn't even make sense.

The fact you think this does not make sense - and the fact you think that women liking their husband's penises makes them irrational for not liking other penises being in their vicinity without their agreement- means you are frankly- well-insane. Or delusional. Or divorced from reality- no matter what you claim.

Manfreglory · 29/06/2025 20:01

Igneococcus · 29/06/2025 19:58

How do you tell a gay man from a paedophile. You don't - but that does not mean gay men are paedophiles.

So you agree any trans women who get changed in the female changing room is potentially committing a crime?

Igneococcus · 29/06/2025 20:01

yes it is a crime and IMO nobody should be dangling their penis about - stats show that those doing the dangling are men not trans women.

Lets see those stats then.

EmpressaurusKitty · 29/06/2025 20:01

I’ve never been remotely interested in penises and I don’t want to share changing rooms or toilets with them. Whether their owners are there in good faith or not - and there is no way to filter out the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ones. Except that the ‘good’ ones will respect women’s sex-based rights & use male or unisex spaces instead.
