My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

Seens to me that throughout history it's usually men that obsess over penises.

At 62 I have known many many women who have been attacked, physically and sexually, myself included. Not ONE has ever been attacked by a trans woman.

I grew up in the 80's; had my bum fondled on a staircase aged 7; was flashed at, cat called and had 'whore' shouted at me as a frightened teen...by men. I was terrified walking home from the bus stop - I used to take my shoes off and run. I once had a lesbian try to pick me up on the tube (so women can be invasive abusive dicks too but that's another point). You're all directing your vitriol at trans women when since the beginning of time it is men hurting women, not trans women hurting women.

You talk so fondly about your husbands' penises yet if a trans woman has one, it's the enemy. At heart, this is all rage and hatred against people who are not "normal" and don't look or identify how you'd prefer them to look and identify. Did you know that in 19th century South Africa black people were termed "non human?". Substitute "trans" for "black" and "not women" for "not human" and then see how your hatred is working for you.

I mean, it's not actually possible to be trans (it's a made-up concept) so there's no chance of my child being trans OP. No more than there's a chance of them being a cat. Or a fish.

In the event that my child starts to think they're trans, they'll be very swiftly told to catch themselves on (kindly and with long gentle chats, at least initially). HTH!

To be fair, trans people could also be accused of being obsessed with penises: having one, not having one, wanting one, not wanting one, wanting something despite having one, wanting people to turn a blind eye to their one…

And trans women are not women, so it's fine to shove THEM under the bus.

In your case I'm willing to entertain the possibility that it is satire.

I think you'll find there's plenty of vitriol for all men who misuse their male strength and penis to attack, Intimidate and frighten women. The fact that some have chosen to wear "female" clothes and change their names while doing it is secondary. The % of the population who are trans is (I think) 0.1 so statistically it is far less likely that it is a male person presenting as female that attacks someone than a common or garden male but their "identity" had allowed them, in recent years, easier access to traditionally safe spaces. Hence the "vitriol". But there's plenty to go round, don't worry.
