Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

And you can also buy/eat their gonads, to keep the thread vaguely on topic.

I'd eat it.
I love taramasalata, last time I was at Baba in Edinburgh I had whipped cod roe for starter, so good.

What about apple tea?

I like most things, which is prolly why I'm fat.

That is controversial.

However, I really bloody love pineapple on pizza.

Get me a hawaiian anyday.

I love pineapple on pizza too - but recently I had a pizza that had a cream cheese sauce, rather than tomato sauce, topped with sliced apples, Gorgonzola and olive tapenade - it was the most delicious pizza I have eaten in years.

I had apple tea in Turkey, which was quite nice. But 'tea' tea is just bitter and bleurgh!

I thought roe were fish eggs.

Or deer.
Which are also tasty.

Plenty of anti-trans activists put their activism over IRL relationships..hell one of the best known ATAs did so to such an extent that his partner (and family) left him. There's been endless reports about this from both ATAs and from those who no longer have contact.

I've long advocated for a space like /r/QAnonCasualties for the latter.

Waitwhat23 · 03/07/2025 13:05

Oh God, we're not going to get the whole 'Glinner's divorced!!!' crap again, are we?

I swear anti women TRA's have absolutely nothing in their arsenal but shite.

Put another record on.

Agreed. Tea is utterly pointless imo.

At a push, a nice strong peppermint tea is nice but that 'ooh, let's have a lovely cup of tea' thing leaves me cold.

Igneococcus · 03/07/2025 13:10

I wonder if, in a few years time, some people will look back and ask themselves why they risked their relationships with people close to them just to support an ideology as bonkers and dangerous as gender ideology, for people who'd drop them the moment they step even the teensiest bit out of line.

I had taramasalata and pitta chips for lunch today. And a ploughman’s dip. But I’m a greedy fucker.

Yes i was thinking of Turkish apple tea. My favourite is spearmint and licorice. Although I'm mainly a coffee drinker.

Quite. It got very interesting.

I'm actually going make the marmalade, sultana, banana curry tonight.

(I think it's the lipsmacking thought of marmalade for dinner, if I'm honest)

PottedPerennial · 03/07/2025 14:47

RECIPE FOR CHEESE, APPLE AND TAPENADE PIZZA PLEASE and thank you. 😆

PepsiForEva · 03/07/2025 14:53

I'm doing chicken korma made from a JAR tonight.

I don't think I am woman-ing properly in the eyes of some. Short cuts. tsk tsk.

Igneococcus · 03/07/2025 14:58

There's a pizza place not far from where dd lives in Edi and they make pizzas with white bases and also with pumpkin cream base. She says they are great.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/07/2025 15:00

Ohhh I wish I could give you the recipe, @PottedPerennial - the best I can do is guess. The pizza came from Storico in Ipswich, and the description is fiordilatte (a fresh, light cows milk cheese similar to mozzarella), sliced apples (Granny Smith, I think), Gorgonzola, truffle oil and tapenade (the tapenade was in blobs, not all mixed in).

Just looked up that pizzeria and it sounds delicious. Pizza number 4 for me!

If I'm being particularly fancy, the pizza I like to make is a spelt base pizza dough (with gluten intolerance, it makes my stomach hurt less), my own pizza sauce, mozzarella, sauted leeks and asparagus tips, black olives, prosciutto cotto, frozen peas and a poached egg on top. It is glorious.

Igneococcus · 03/07/2025 15:28

dd says pizza 11 is her favourite

SidewaysOtter · 03/07/2025 15:37

On the pizza front, can I make the case for white pizza with anchovy and lemon? Make a bechamel, spread over the base (I recommend large fresh naans from an Asian supermarket or similar), add anchovies and very finely sliced lemon. Scatter with mozzarella and bake for approx 12 mins at 180.

Bloody LUSH.
