Waving flags in support of trans people is an entirely different thing to whether the government allows trans men into female prisons. People can support and be open to all walks of life, it doesnt mean they support the bad apples of the world.

In the good old days, flags in the crowd at Glastonbury were for finding your friends

THe sooner security bring in flag size and height limits the better

But if those “bad apples” are transwomen you support them in being allowed to get their own way and get into female prisons.

I’m not against them. I’m against males who identify as women being in female spaces. I’m against all males in female spaces. I’m treating them just the same as I treat everyone else.

I've got plenty things to worry about above the goings on in prisons. Horrendous things have been going on in prisons long before the odd trans person made the headlines. People get beaten up, murdered, isolated, develop mental health issues, the list goes on. I don't spend my time worrying about prisoners no. Dont want to go to prison? Dont comit fraud.

I know that the language is confusing, but transmen are female and should be in female prisons if they are jailed. I would hope that a risk assessment is done and common sense applied if a transman has been taking testosterone, but they should not be put in a male prison. To do so would be extremely dangerous IMO.

For many it’s a show of support for what is widely regarded as a men’s rights movement, those fighting for men to be in women’s sports, spaces, prisons, rape crisis counselling sessions to name a few. Fighting for additional rights at the expense of women.

It might not affect one (you) personally, but one can have empathy for those who it does affect. It comes from a place of privilege not to in my opinion.

So yes, many have an issue with it. If you don’t, maybe find another thread to focus on?

i was just watching Gary Numan’s set and reminiscing about being a New Romantic back in the day. His backing band were male but wore skirts on stage. I had loads of male New Romantic friends who wore blouses snd make up and nail varnish. More power to your elbows gender non conforming men!! I doubt Gary’s band were identifying as women despite the skirts

But it's a tiny section of the male population. And most men would not identify with trans men or understand them. Honestly it's just crazy.

It's ok to support trans people but whatever you do, dont fly a supportive flag at a music festival !!! Keep your support in the closet!

It’s males. The nice ones, the bad ones, the trans ones. The majority of men won’t harm you either, but you safeguard against the tiny minority who might, not the majority who won’t.

Until someone decides a magical way to tell us the good ones from the bad ones women deserve and need their own single SEX spaces. It’s not even just keeping the bad ones away, I know plenty of lovely men. My male neighbour is lovely, still don’t want t to get changed in front of him though. That wouldn’t change if he told me tomorrow he felt like he was really a woman.

Trans people are 1 in 70 in the under 25 age bracket so that’s not minimal. When in was 1 in 13,000 at the time of the GRA there wasn’t much impact. Things have changed so a different approach is relevant now

I wouldnt want to get changed in front of a stranger either, male or female. There are locks on the doors.
