Fascinating stuff. Long-time TRA and transman https://x.com/legaltweetz has made an almost overnight conversion to the gender critical side.

'I honestly feel like I’m leaving a cult. Where saying anything outside of the accepted narrative will get a bunch of anime pfps attacking your character.'

Legaltweetz is now under sustained attack from other TRAs.

If you're on Twitter, go take a look. This person was one of the most vocal TRAs on there until a month ago.

Wondering if it's no coincidence that it's a female person who's got disenchanted with the ideology and its supporters.

I'm not sure why it's necessary to 'infiltrate' the GC internet. It's all right there. Unless there are WA groups with direct access to JKR that I don't know about.

I'm not sure that shame and embarrassment we're supposed to feel at having been so easily duped into perceiving her woman is as persuasive as she thinks it is.

That's entirely expected. She seems to have serious issues. At least those on the GC side who were giving everyone who didn't trust her motives a big old "be kind and welcoming" lecture will hopefully think about it next time before they tell people to disregard their instincts. I found the lectures completely repellent especially since we have been told for the last decade to "be kind and let men steal or rights and private spaces".

What she did expose was how badly the TRAs react to detransitioners so frankly, I take this as a win.

I'm a member of the Cheese&Nuts groupuscule, we splintered off the Cheese&Crackers faction a while ago though nobody can remember what caused the rift.

It is dawning on me just how divided the sex realist and gender critical troops are on the most crucial issue of the day (favourite snacks). How we ever agree on anything, I will never know!

I think it comes down to the difference between opinions (paprika crisps are the best, closely followed by Dill crisps) which there can be disagreement over, and facts, like sex is binary and immutable, which is just simply true. So we can have different opinions but we agree on facts.

I actually suspect the detransition might have been genuine, but she got so much flack she couldn't carry on with it.

Otherwise... what's the point? Her TRA mates are never going to forgive her.

What was the goal here though? To try to gain sympathy from well known GC figures and trick them into saying something in private that would reflect badly on them? That’s the best I could come up with.

My first thought when she said she was detransitioning was that it was a fake, and then I saw the outpouring of kindness and support from the GC community towards her and felt mean spirited to ever have thought it.

What a pointless, sad stunt. It seems like the only result was to showcase how vile TRAs are to detransitioners and make GC people who were open handed think twice about being as generous next time.

If Pissed Off Lawyer has found out who is supposed to be funding us to say crazy things like 'males aren't female' and 'women have human rights too', could they let us know, 'cause I haven't received a penny for my years of terfing so I should be due a lot of backpay 😤.

My experience with online trolls / gaming is they are obsessive, they have about a zillion online identities, they are persistent, they see it as winning, they read Sun Tzu and therefore believe they are at war and any method is fair game as it's all about winning.

Well, I was definitely in the 'be kind and welcoming' camp because people do in fact change their minds and because there's no lose in credibility if the person turns out to be faking it. In fact the whole idea is self-refuting. TRAs expect us to believe Legaltweetz was a man (and was always man) simply because she says so. Then suddenly stopped being a man and never was a man because she says so, and finally, actually, no, she was a man and was always a man even when she said she wasn't, because she said so. All the while there being no discernible change of the person in question. I mean is there a better example of trans insanity than that?

I'm reminded of Mary Warren running back to Abigail and the other accusers in The Crucible when the going got too tough. The TRAs are known for turning on detransitioners.
