Outspoken TRA 'Legaltweetz' suddenly turns against transactivitism

Fascinating stuff. Long-time TRA and transman https://x.com/legaltweetz has made an almost overnight conversion to the gender critical side.

'I honestly feel like I’m leaving a cult. Where saying anything outside of the accepted narrative will get a bunch of anime pfps attacking your character.'

Legaltweetz is now under sustained attack from other TRAs.

If you're on Twitter, go take a look. This person was one of the most vocal TRAs on there until a month ago.

Wondering if it's no coincidence that it's a female person who's got disenchanted with the ideology and its supporters.

The TRAs just can't help themselves.

'This is now the third email my firm has received about me. This is exactly why I’m going to nip this problem in the bud. It’s not ok to make false allegations on the internet that start affecting my employment and reputation.'

Legaltweetz has her own firm, yet the TRAs still try to get Legaltweetz sacked.

I think this person is difficult, but she is female and so “one of us”.

people don’t need to be perfect to be protected by feminism, they need to be female.

i suspect she sees the tide is turning and wants to establish herself as an early adopter - apart from anything else there will be money to be made as detransitioners seek recompense in the USA. A smart lawyer would spot a trend like that - and in my limited experience - detransitioners are smart and determined, if misguided and challenging, people.

Bickybics · 11/06/2025 09:27

I think people like her are realising how damaging some of the behaviours of some men have been to her ‘community’ and is distancing herself. I think we’ll see a lot more real/fake trans conversations. People who detransition are called fake, not real trans in the first place.
maybe this will all self implode with them fighting amongst themselves.

NotAnotherBagpiper · 11/06/2025 11:31

I believe Hendrix's change of heart to be genuine. I think she is probably a classic F2M transitioner who found being a lesbian woman with a tough early life challenging and fell into the trans movement. She may well be ASD but I'm just speculating. I think she deserves credit for saying things that she probably has felt for years but didn't dare vocalise.

There are plenty of trans people I respect hugely, maybe she'll become one of them - the criteria for my respect is simply to recognise biological sex trumps a gender "feeling" in all circumstances and that nobody under the age of 18 should be given any form of medication or surgery to alter their development with "changing sex" as an end goal. By all means dress and present any which way you please but keep to your own defined-by-biology spaces and categories and we're all good.

Not sure they have "switched sides". I think they are just pointing out some forms of transactivism aren't helpful. For example they still have "LGBT rights" in their profile text.

TENSsion · 11/06/2025 12:00

I’m watching with interest but I’m very sceptical.

'LGBT rights' is completely meaningless until you describe them. They mean completely different things to different people.

Datun · 11/06/2025 12:07

By the way, is anyone else finding that LGB trips off the tongue quite naturally these days. I often completely forget about the T entirely when I'm writing the acronym

This is subjective. It's always been LGBT until JK Rowling and the gender critical groups propped up to oppose it. Saying LGB feels as if something is missing IMO.

But that's not true, is it? You know it's not true.

Chris lies & lies & lies & refuses to engage in debate with good faith. This is just another of his lies.

She’s flaky, and i wouldn’t trust her as far as I could throw her.

Do you really think that if you repeat barefaced lies often enough they somehow become true? I went on my first Pride in 1985. Until Stonewall ran out of legitimate causes to campaign for around 2017 and turned to trans rights activism as a pretext to grift instead the idea of grafting gender identity onto the gay rights agenda would have been absolutely unthinkable. Do some proper reading rather than thinking of reddit as a valid research tool.

Why 'they'? Until she detransitioned half an hour ago she identified as a transman so that was outrageous and actually violent misgendering, surely?

Sounds like this is at the heart of it.

I’m detransitioning. My name will still be Hendrix. My birth name carries a lot of abuse with it, so Hendrix stays. I will block anyone using my prior name.

I was not talked into this or groomed. This is what I want. I made the choice to transition as an adult, and the buck stops here. I won’t be suing anyone, nor am I angry about it.

However, after a lifetime of trauma due to being a female & 15+ years of endometriosis, I disconnected from my female body completely. More gatekeeping could have caught this instead of an ALL affirmation model. This is why I find the informed consent model to be flawed after 7+ years of transition.

Ive heard everyone was trans until JKR signed up to twitter. Shes the one who forced everyone into a cis-heteronormative lifestyle.

Its not good that its all being played out on twitter. Not good for thepissedofflawyer if genuine and not good for everyone else if shes not or changes her mind.

You might want to tell that to the TRAs who are attacking her and attempting to get her fired (from her own company)

Maaate · 11/06/2025 12:48

I truly hope she gets the help she needs to start to feel better in her own skin

Lovey, I was alive in the 80’s and 90’s. I KNOW this ain’t true

AsterLaVista · 11/06/2025 13:01

I'm so glad for her that she stopped the medical stuff before phalloplasty. I struggle to believe that the complication rates for that make it worthwhile for anyone. Even without the rest of the activist distortions, that's been mis-sold to the world as something it really isn't (effective, well tested, safe...).

Bickybics · 11/06/2025 13:01

a while ago she was posting pictures of herself pre-trans and she seemed quite sad about it.

Amazing how we're constantly berated for being ancient and hopelessly out of touch until someone wants to completely rewrite the history we lived through. Perhaps he thinks we're senile and have forgotten?

Rubbish. You must be quite young.
