Fascinating stuff. Long-time TRA and transman https://x.com/legaltweetz has made an almost overnight conversion to the gender critical side.

'I honestly feel like I’m leaving a cult. Where saying anything outside of the accepted narrative will get a bunch of anime pfps attacking your character.'

Legaltweetz is now under sustained attack from other TRAs.

If you're on Twitter, go take a look. This person was one of the most vocal TRAs on there until a month ago.

Wondering if it's no coincidence that it's a female person who's got disenchanted with the ideology and its supporters.

I agree with Chris one one thing (shock horror!) which is that I don't think Hendrix has "switched sides". I've been following things unfold for her for a while, including a couple of her live broadcast things on X.

What I'm seeing is someone who grasped transitioning as it was presented to her as a cure-all, but has come to realise that it was at best a temporary plaster on her underlying trauma.

She started out by just questioning a couple of small things, but the responses she got from her supposed "community" made her look deeper into both the whole transitioning thing and herself.

I wouldn't be getting the bunting out for her just yet, but I do think that answering her questions honestly and not demanding that she "choose" from people who she previously dismissed will keep opening her eyes as she continues on her journey.

TRAs are losing their minds simply because LT and JKR are talking to each other in a civil and respectful way. They can't stand that they're not fighting.

As far as I was aware the T was for transexuals who were almost always gay males so already part of the LGB. Transvestites rebranded themselves as Transgender and glommed on as a separate 'T' entity and then took over.

Pretty sure it was still LGB when I started university 20 years ago.

I think we are going to see more and more of these high profile (within the tra community) detransitioners. The house of cards is falling. All that will be left are the woman hating creeps who have been riding the coattails of the young transtitioners and the people who just want to live their lives in peace in order to gain legitimacy and sympathy. then the scales really will fall from everyone's eyes

I've come across legaltweetz a couple of time in Twitter threads. She always struck me as incredibly angry, and taking it out on whichever GC poster she was shouting at.

I suppose that anger could have been her turning her anger at falling from the woo, turned external against anyone who pointed out the woo is just woo? Armchair psychology, I know. And it could just as easily be that she's playing games.

Not sure I truly believe her, but politely wishing her well and getting on with your day is surely the way to go? I hope nobody who believe sex is real and immutable is going after her? If she’s pretending for clicks it will backfire either way.

I’ve been following this woman for quite some time and frankly it’s like her account has been hijacked. Not convinced tbh. These people have deep-seated MH problems and this is probably just the latest chapter. If I was JKR I’d be a bit more cautious and wait longer to see how it plays out.

Why do you hate women so much Chris? Why is it so important to you that women (in the original sense of female people) should not be allowed their own sex-specific rights, spaces and protections, not even allowed the language to speak of hw being female impacts their lives for good or bad? Why is it that you will only accept trans women being respected and protected if it also takes rights, protections and language away from women?
