On Bluesky yesterday. Sorry if there’s already a thread but I couldn’t see one. The replies would indicate this is a common thing. Really?

A double mastectomy does not make you look like a man. It makes you look like a woman who has had a double mastectomy.
Not clear what planet Maugham is living on.

One where the water pipes and eating utensils are all made of lead?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/05/2025 02:59

He did make it clear that the kimono was too small for him.

NotBadConsidering · 23/05/2025 03:01

They cant talk about men being challenged in male changing rooms, because the solution has already been addressed. So have to create pressure to not question anyone in the womens. Without people complaining about men in womens spaces, they hope that providers will turn a blind eye.

💯

It's my own fault for letting my imagination run...

yesyessllgood its a really good point.

I'd argue that Isla Bryson cause more awareness for normies than the SC ruling. But the SC ruling has had a bigger impact for TRA.

It makes no sense that these challenges would happen now, and not after bryson.

Or long before Bryson.

If these are instances where somebody has genuinely made a mistake about somebody’s sex, that is not related to trans issues.

If these are instances of aggressive homophobia, that is not a trans issue.

Bollocks!

I love this -

This is what I meant to post 🤪 from Jane Clare Jones, she’s bang on as usual.

‘To the KCs who have decided they are the voice of the oppressed: When your side of the argument is represented in the Supreme Court by the Scottish government, and your critics are a crowdfunded group of grassroots women, your analysis of how the power is distributed here might be bullshit, FYI.’

Rightsraptor · 23/05/2025 08:46

Ah, but their critics weren't a 'crowdfunded group of grassroots women' though. They were funded by billionaires and the American Right.

Or did someone get that wrong 🤔?

After all, we keep being told that TW have been using the ladies for decades without anyone even noticing. Maybe that would make some women hyper vigilante? Still don’t think many women would actually be mistaken for men if you spoke to them

Yes, lording it over women by telling them their spaces have long been infiltrated without them knowing, probably wasn't the best move.

Datun · 23/05/2025 09:03

BackToLurk · 22/05/2025 20:22

“Breasts or not”. For some reason, that’s the bit that’s really stuck out. “My wife deserves dignity, even without tits”. What a guy.

Good point. And there's no way he wouldn't have double checked a tweet before pressing post. So to him, no matter which way he considered it, that looked absolutely fine.

It will be the same with the oft repeated narrative, but all my female friends, relatives and everybody at work doesn't mind me using the ladies. It's only you dried up old hags that have a problem.

Which will suddenly disappear entirely when unisex spaces become prevalent, and they're only used by men and men in dresses, or, more likely, just men in dresses.

I wonder if CM having a double mastectomy has caused either her or JM to reflect on their daughters’ futures. It’s one thing to know they might be or are binding their breasts but it’s another to know that mastectomies are likely in their futures, having been through it yourself and knowing exactly what it entails - the major surgery, the recovery, the emotions. Or maybe they can’t address it, because to do so would be to question what they’ve done. Or maybe they’ve separated it into separate categories as hers was because of cancer and theirs will be by ‘choice’.

I was having thoughts along those lines yesterday. I was going to say something about the irony of the mother having a mastectomy to save her life but for her daughter(s), if she or they had the same surgery, it would be through choice in a terribly misguided attempt to try and solve their issues. Then I thought of the "Ha, got you!" brigade coming on saying "But it WOULD be life saving for the daughter - trans suicide!" (bingo).

Then I had BRCA gene thoughts and decided not to post at all.

Whatever these children go through I can only hope and pray it's for the right reasons and not because they've been pushed further down a path they should have been steered well away from before it was even in sight. I'm looking at the whole ideology when I say that.

Serriadh · 23/05/2025 09:24

He doesn’t say what she was challenged about, does he. He lets everyone assume it’s her sex.

Maybe she’s as much of an exhibitionist as he is and a couple of other women asked her to stop parading naked round the changing room yelling ANYONE WANT TO DONATE MONEY TO MY CROWDFUNDER, I’M SUEING THE SKY FOR BEING BLUE.

Unfortunately it can’t ever be for the right reasons, because no one is born in the wrong body, no one needs puberty blockers or ghoulish, unnecessary surgery to affirm a mental health issue. I think for some people, anything they can do to avoid acknowledging that their child has a MH issue is preferable, this way they can disassociate themselves from any responsibility, because if they’re child is ‘born in the wrong body’ how could that possibly be anything to do with them? All decisions are then taken out of their hands and made by ‘experts’ which again gives them plausible deniability.

Newstartplease24 · 23/05/2025 09:53

Havent rtft but I just want to express my rage that this dickhead is violating his wife’s dignity and privacy by using her body as a political lever for his own self aggrandizement.

I totally agree @LadyBracknellsHandbagg , I was meaning if it was a medical necessity as was the case for their mother.

Maybe she was challenged for being married to a twat.

Definitely this.

Somethings gone drastically wrong with that family dynamic - the two daughters that now identify as trans and a wife that they pretend no longer looks like a woman because she has a double mastectomy!

mantaraya · 23/05/2025 10:30

Classic case of a man thinking a woman's body = tits and vag. Any woman could look at a foot / a leg / a hand / whatever and know with 99% accuracy if it was male or female. Pull the other one JoMo.

I guess they have to pretend she no longer looks like a man or the promotion of bilateral mastectomies by their ideology is rather pointless.

TheOtherRaven · 23/05/2025 11:40

Her argument is that stupid old biddies who believe in sex and reality think women are identifiable via a collection of parts such as genetics, physical characteristics, etc etc. (as opposed to a wholly unidentifiable and unverifiable 'inner essence' and gendered soul and beliefs). Therefore she is trying to claim that if she does not have one of those parts (because via medical reasons she once had them but they were removed) she is no longer identifiable as a woman. It's the same argument as 'I have never menstruated therefore I can't a woman by biological sex HA gotcha' which ignores that any girl who does not menstruate by a certain age would be medically investigated as an indicator of those existing parts not working properly.

It's bobbins. As always. With the sole aim of trying to force non consenting women to submit to men using them and their spaces.

Worriedandsuspicious · 23/05/2025 12:27

Of course she was. I'm guessing thousands of TRA types will have this happen to friends and family now.

Thingybob · 23/05/2025 12:39

She has a photo posted on Linkedin taken in the last 3 or 4 weeks (?).

There's no way anyone could mistake her for a man or a transwoman

BackToLurk · 23/05/2025 12:48

OuterSpaceCadet · 22/05/2025 09:56

The reason I don't believe this happened is because women know what other women's bodies look like. Half the sports facilities I've ever used have had open plan changing of some sort (maybe like 3 cubicles which is meaningless when busy. The only places with enough cubicles tend to be the unisex changing villages).

In the 90s some of the high street clothing chains even had open plan fitting rooms!!

You can also see what women look like when they wear sports gear because of the way it's designed.

I think we're primed by our socialisation to be mildly interested in "the competition" and as we fight that socialisation it can be glorious to see the beauty of real women to counteract the filtered, airbrushed BS from ads and social media.

Women come in a staggering array of body shapes. Lots of women are relatively flat chested. Especially slim, petite women. It's nothing unusual.

Yea. I always used to ask whether I should take my sons to the dr as they hadn’t started menstruating.

GoBackToTheStart · 23/05/2025 12:59

The whole concept makes zero sense. It only seems to work if you believe “masculine” looking women were never challenged before because people thought they were actually transwomen that just didn’t look very feminine (but were allowed in there because they had ladyfeelz). How unbelievably insulting is that?!

If people thought they were gender conforming men, they’d have been challenged anyway before the SC judgement.

Following TRA logic, if people thought they were transmen they’d have been challenged before the SC judgement because people would have “recognised” them as “actual men”, so they shouldn’t have been in the ladies’ anyway.

Or, they weren’t challenged because people saw they were transmen and therefore recognised them as women and fine to be in the ladies’ (because sex matters), so nothing has changed at all.

In what way would the world suddenly start challenging GNC women because it’s been confirmed legally that men aren’t allowed in women’s loos. It’s ridiculous.

“Trans” was never a shield for GNC women. As has been pointed out multiple times now, it also completely ignores the fact we all managed quite nicely before gender woo kicked off.
